yes
there are 2 types of thought. the first one are uplifting thoughts that take you closer to God. that is positive thoughts. thoughts of love and selflessness
and then you have negative thoughts that close the inner channels to God. thoughts of selfishness, greed, lust , pride, anger , envy, intolerance etc.

3. Is God truly omniscient?

yes.
and so we are too. it is a lack of spiritual maturity and the dense matter in which soul is embedded that shields us from knowing who we really are and what we are capable of.

4. If so, does He merely know or can He change whole courses of events?

God created the universes as a school for us souls. he then gave us free will to learn at our own time and pace. It sits back and watches Its creation at play.

events are put into motion by our thoughts, feelings, words and actions. what we put into life is what life simply returns to us over and over again.

the only time God intervenes in the life of soul is when a certain soul has achieved some measure of spiritual maturity and learnt the lessons it needs to learn then that particular soul may not need to go through some very difficult situations it may have created in the past through ignorance of the laws of life.

ECK means Holy Spirit. It is the voice of God. The essence of life that gives life to all creation.

The aim of ECKANKAR is to take all ready souls back to God.

first of all every living thing is soul.

both animals, plants and humans. they are all souls. the only difference is the cloth they are wearing as soul or their embodiment and their level of consciousness and advancement on the evolutionary scale.

we all start from the bottom and move up the scale through millions of lifetimes. the spirit of God which is the holy spirit is what gives life to all beings and it is present in all beings.

for me it has nothing to do with the religion but has a lot to do with the people in the religion.

every religion has people that are tolerant and people that are not tolerant of other people's beliefs.

the more love a person is able to develop the more tolerant the person becomes of other people's beliefs. tolerance is really one of the signs of spiritual growth and maturity.

the unique thing about   ECKANKAR is that we are not  asking anybody to believe  anything said about truth. you  must experience truth in order  to know the truth.i like those coment but do u belive in christ and do u belive the bible.

in Eckankar we do not work with belief. rather we go beyond belief to knowingness through experience. the bible comprises of experiences that people had with God. Eckankar shows you how you can have your own experiences with God and then write your own bible.

we are the living walking truth. likewise through your personal experiences you will be shown exactly what the christ consciousness is all about.

so my dear. it is not a matter of belief. if you work only with belief then anybody with a stronger persuasion can make you to change your beliefs. but if you work in the area of experience and knowingness you are much stronger and your experience becomes your authority.

so the question is, are you ready to know the truth about christ? are you ready to know the truth about the bible? are you ready to know the truth about yourself? are you ready to know the truth about God?

Why do you say Holy spirit.is that how it is recorgnise in eck? or you are appeasing the christians?

the word ECKANKAR is made up of two words. the first is ECK which means the Holy Spirit. and the second is ANKAR which means the way.
so ECKANKAR simply means the way of the Holy Spirit.

what you have to understand is that The holy spirit is the voice of God. it can be seen as a light or heard as a sound. the holy spirit is actually the comforter that leads us to all truth.

it doesn't matter what your religion is. one should make effort to have direct contact with the holy spirit of God in order to find out the will of God in your life.

this is what ECKANKAR is teaching today. how you can make direct contact with the Holy Spirit of God which changes your life for the better.

Is there some sort of punishment for not accepting this belief?

absolutely none. it is the birthright of soul to make up its mind when it wants to complete its journey back to God. there really is no hurry in the journey of soul and there is no compulsion.

How do you describe the soul and God? Are they similar to that of Christianity?

God created soul in its own image. so we are really mini gods. we share the same qualities with God but the problem is that we have not yet realized it. that is why God created the lower worlds and sent us down here.

the experiences of life we go through helps us to come to that realization of who and what we are. our knowledge of soul and God is not so similar with that of christianity. christianity believes that soul has just one life to live and after death God will judge that soul and then will send that soul to either hell or heaven depending on how that soul lived its life or if the soul accepted jesus as its personal saviour or not.

in Eckankar we know that there is no hell. after a soul's life on earth the soul is judged according to its actions on earth and not based on its believes. after judgement if it is seen that the soul has not learnt the lessons it is supposed to learn the soul will reincarnate on earth again and continue it's lessons. it does not matter to God how many lifetimes it takes a soul to learn its lessons and reach spiritual maturity.

What is karma?

the law of karma is simply the law of cause and effect. that is whatever you sow you will reap. this is the law that God put in place to govern the lower worlds where souls are being schooled.

the purpose of this law is to teach us how to learn love. when you do a bad thing to another soul because of lack of love that action comes back to you so that you will know how it feels like.

the results of your action may not come back in this present life time it may follow you to another life time. the problem we have as souls is that when the results of our actions starts coming back to us we do not remember what we did in the past that set it into motion. we then blame the devil for our problem.

what this means is that you are totally responsible for everything that is happening in your life. and that is the reason why you see someone that is born blind and someone else is crippled from birth. there is divine justice in life and everything is the way it is supposed to be.

Basic Beliefs of Eckankar

Harold Klemp, the spiritual leader of Eckankar, describes the basic beliefs of Eckankar as follows:

The teachings of ECK define the nature of Soul more carefully than do other current religions. Each person is Soul, a particle of God sent into the lower worlds (including earth) to gain spiritual experience. Purified by the spiritual exercises, he comes into contact with the Holy Spirit. His goal is spiritual freedom in this lifetime, after which he becomes a Co-worker with God, both here and in the next world. Karma and reincarnation are primary beliefs.

Key to the ECK teachings is the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master. He has the special ability to act as both Inner and Outer Master for ECK students. He is the prophet of Eckankar, given respect but not worship. He teaches the sacred name of God, HU, which lifts one spiritually into the Light and Sound of God, the ECK.

The ECK (the Holy Spirit) purifies one of karma (sin), making it possible for him to accept the full love of God in this lifetime. Then he gains wisdom, charity, and freedom.

Personal experience with the Light and Sound of God is the cornerstone of Eckankar. Of all the religions on earth today, Eckankar offers the most direct teachings on the Light and Sound of God. These twin pillars are missing in whole or in part from the rest. People who truly find these two aspects of God undergo a complete spiritual change. Life becomes fresh and new again, as it was in early childhood.

Eckist are not christians and jesus is not one of our masters. the spiritual leader of Eckankar is known as the Mahanta, The Living Eck Master. the current Mahanta is Sri Harold Klemp who is the 973rd Living Eck Master in an unbroken lineage of Living Eck Masters. Jesus was never an Eck Master. Rather he was able to earn the christ consciousness so he was known as the christ. which makes him the spiritual leader of christians and not that of Eckists.

you didnt respond to the key issues I raised in my first post-who determines the parameters for soul travel?

God of course through the avenue of the holy spirit which is the spirit of God in all souls determines the parameters for soul travel. so what you will experience will depend mostly on your level of consciousness which is actually your level of acceptance. God can never expose you to a truth that you are not yet ready to accept.

Is "experiencing" really for everyone? I mean, do we all NEED it? Don't you think in the quest to experience evil spirits can take advantage of your quest and feed you stuff or that your quest can even create its own alternate reality?

the experience is very important because that is the only way you will know for sure that God exist and that you are soul a spark of God. if you rely only on what you read in books then anybody can convince you otherwise.

for me now i have seen the light of God and i heard the various sounds of the celestial worlds. i have walked the streets of the various heavens of God. i have crossed the borders of death and conversed with relatives who had passed on. so no one can now convince me otherwise that God does not exist or that heaven does not exist.

every soul when ready must walk the hallowed way alone back to his maker. it is just a matter of time. if you know who you really are and what capabilities you possess as soul you will fear no evil and you can thread even where the angels fear to thread.

the light of God have the capabilities of lighting up the way and dispersing any illusions that your mind may throw up. so there is absolutely nothing to fear.

C'mon, look at how beautifully designed the world is. Why then do humans hurt one another? Why is it that we do wrong from time to time? Why aren't we perfect?

i will start from the beginning. first, God created souls in Its own image and we were with God in the ocean of love and mercy. but unfortunately we were immature and could not fully comprehend the qualities of God that were within us.

so God created the lower universes including Earth as a school and sent us down here to learn and to discover our true nature. the Devil was also created to be our tempter and to ensure that only those souls that have passed their exams and have reached full maturity can go back to God.

so the game of life started a long long time ago. in each life time a soul goes through various experiences and each of them is tailored to teach the soul how to love without discrimination. at the end of each lifetime if the lessons have not been learnt then the soul must reincarnate and take up another body and continue the game of life.

during life what we call The Law of Karma, or the law of cause and effect guides what we do. whatever you do comes back to you. by the time you slap someone and someone else slaps you back nobody will need to tell you that to slap someone is bad.

so why then do humans hurt one another? it is because of lack of love. if you love someone you find that you can never hurt that person. that is also the reason we do wrong from time to time. we have not learnt how to love the way that God loves us. and that is the reason why we were sent down here. to learn how to love all life. and that is what the ECK teachings have to offer the world. how singing the holy name of God, HU can reawaken the love of God within you enabling you to love naturally and to find your way back to God

From my knowledge, Eckankar is presumably a modern religion. So, what happens exactly to those who lived before the advent of Eckankar?

ECKANKAR is both modern and ancient. in the olden days due to very low level of consciousness prevalent at that time and also due to serious persecutions the Eck teachings was driven underground and was taught only to the few who have grown in consciousness.

the teachings were brought out to the world again in this era because humanity had been making solid gains spiritually and man has developed more religious tolerance than before. ECKANKAR is not only taught in the physical universe it is also being taught to those in the spiritual worlds.

so it doesn't matter if the soul has not heard about ECKANKAR before translating. no time is late for a soul to continue on its journey back to God. remember the teachings of Eckankar are for those souls who are now ready to make the journey back home to God.
