Politics › Re: Abure: Okpara Is A Mole Working With Apapa & Others, Suspended For 6 Months -LP by bentenny(m): 3:53pm On Feb 14, 2024
One thing I have gathered from this whole crisis involving Julius abure....Most of those who headed LP before the coming of Obi were obviously using the party as a sort of bargain chip for funds from the main parties like apc or pdp during Guber and general elections!

Secondly, there are too many allegations surrounding Julius abure and I think it's best that he temporarily steps down as national chairman to allow the NWC to properly investigate any form of misappropriation from his end!
You cannot be a judge in your own matter!

I also think it's time for LP to embark on a national convention to elect new leaders who can properly pilot the affairs of the party and ensure they are credible and transparent!

Lastly, the eyes of the citizens are on the party and it's conduct to see if they are different or same as the main parties!

Making the party strong not just from the national level but sub-national should start now and it can only happen if the handlers are seen as credible and accountable!

The comments I'm seeing here shows that most people do not know the horror local manufacturers go through in managing to get a finished product in Nigeria where there is multiple taxation, lack of constant power supply, insecurity, high transport cost, inability to access forex etc
Food › Re: Rising production cost: Bakers Begin Nationwide Strike On February 27 by bentenny(m): 9:34am On Feb 14, 2024
Reno keeps screaming on social media about buying made in Nigeria products but forgets that if there are no steps to ensure a conducive atmosphere for business to strive, local manufacturers will end up leaving and consumers will have no alternative but to patronize imported substitutes!
Food › Re: Rising production cost: Bakers Begin Nationwide Strike On February 27 by bentenny(m): 9:25am On Feb 14, 2024
It's long overdue!
How FG collects 31 plus different taxes from them with high cost in transportation and depending on alternative diesel powered generators in the clear absence of local power source is beyond wicked!
With such multiplicity of taxes, baking products like bread should even go for 5k plus but they still sell as little as 1k to 1k5!

Politics › Re: Should The Nigerian Govt Regulate The Social Media Space? by bentenny(m): 12:07pm On Feb 13, 2024
There are already strong regulatory laws embedded by owners of the social media platform!

It's up to them to ensure that defaulters are severely punished!
However,if nothing happens to the perpetrators, they get emboldened and keep doing the same thing unabated!

Take for instance, nairaland......there are regulatory measures taken to clamp down on culprits responsible for cyber bullying but the MODs saddled with the responsibility to enforce such laws have been turning a blind eye or seemingly partisan due to political affiliation or tribal bias!

Unfortunately, nothing has been done to remove such MODs!

...And that's why I believe state policing without it's outright independence from political actors is a recipe for disaster!
Politics › Re: Obi And His Futile Attempt To Remain Relevant Among His Autistic Followers by bentenny(m): 3:39am On Feb 13, 2024
This is an epic and hilarious depiction of Obi living rent-free in OP's disorganized head!

If not,how will a full grown adult wake up and the first thing he thinks of is to start regurgitating and spewing endless bull crap about a man who doesn't even know or care about your existence?

I can understand if OP is doing all this narrative just to boost his miserable allowance due to inflation but there are far more intelligent ways to go about this rather than making it look as if he is obsessed with Obi😄😄

I will be very surprised if Osimhen gets a top club after his performance in this tournament. Nobody is talking about his work rate. We know he works hard for the team. But at the end of the day, a striker’s job is to score goals. Look at Haller. Give him half a chance, he scores. That’s a striker.
Was haller the one who carried the ball from defence to attack and score?
Didn't someone supply him with the pass?

I know Peserio made some mistakes in selection today but let's not forget how he was able to take us to a undeserved finals with an unorthodox tactics!
Atleast he did his best!
Our polithiefians esp this administration put pressure as usual on our players with an unnecessary emilokan slogan🙄🙄
If Nigeria had won,the incompetent administration would have credited the victory to their renewed hope agenda!

What's the man's rubbish about traditional wedding got to do with his death, or what's Anambra, Soludo and banking got to do with his death?

What happened to express your condolence and move on just like the rest of Nigeria?

This man's death shouldnt be about what he did for him or how he organized traditional wedding, this thoughtless and heartless man is just using the man's death to aggrandize and chase clout.
I highly doubt if you know how a tribute is written to someone you are fond of!
Or you may know but trying to generate benighted comments to boost your monthly stipends for the month!

You said the weak ones should die off?? Seriously? If God be in heaven, let what you say follow you.

What's really your gain in all this?
Where is your conscience? Where did you get the fact that 80% of the populace don't pay light bill? News flash, subsidy in electricity was removed 3 years ago, has things improved?

Let me also give you one fact, contrary to what you said, most Nigerians are exploited and over billed
Don't mind them!
They keep saying Nigerians don't pay for the electricity they use but forget that even those who pay for such services hardly have access to constant power!
Why should I pay exorbitantly for services not rendered to me?
You pay 10k for electricity but you can count how many hours you have power supply in a month....isn't that extortion?
And yet some folks who are even suffering from poor electricity services in their household are still defending this reckless administration because of tribalism and a miserable stipend!

PDP cannot claim to be overnight saints when it comes to corruption however it will be wrong to neglect the fact that they are now waking up to their role as one of the oppositions to the new daredevil in wanton corruption aka APC!
The only problem is that the entire institutions that should probe this corrupt practices are in the pocket of the executive hence nothing will happen just the same way nothing will happen to Betta Edu!
Sports › Re: Tinubu Will Watch AFCON Final In Ivory Coast, Says CAF President by bentenny(m): 1:25pm On Feb 10, 2024
Too much pressure on the super eagles!

They should have stayed in Nigeria and watch!
The players are already in a lot of pressure to play the host nation with the home crowd backing them....now they have to contend with the Nigerian president and his entourage to pile more pressure on them!

If this match is lost, there will be serious crisis in Nigeria!

Well no matter the outcome, our players have really done well despite being ranked outsiders to even reach the semis!🙂

Special praise to Coach Peserio for his tactical approach to every game we have played so far aside the first game and listening to our pleas to bench Uzoho and try Nwabali!😊😊
