Of course, division does not mean enemy.
I dont have to give u lecture on that.
Lol.. Anything that rocks your boat.. Just know that the passage wasn't talking about anything peaceful!

We can differ and not be enemies.

I dont know what u r driving at.
I and my parents are divided on many issues, it doesn't reduce their love for me.

Nor does it reduce mine for them.
Shiiiiiiiit!! Here you go again, so it's no longer division, but "peaceful division"? Unfortunately, the passage disagrees with that!

If you understood the comment you just responded to you would not still be citing Batman or Harry Potter to me. Only kids reason the way you do.

Intelligence is something you need to strive for when making presentations or raising arguments. Matured minds do not present such examples when debating serious issues.

Lol.. You think you're intelligent? You think Harry Potter and batman is childish but yahweh isn't grin

Exactly like in the video above , he was quick to criticize violent passages from the Quran but calls it "out of context" when it's from the Bible...

You must be a Child to criticize characters in a Novel under the assumption they are real.

The Bible is not a Novel as no Novel has been so widely embraced and experienced like it which is why its known the world over as A HOLY BOOK.

By the way if you say you are free to criticize the characters in a novel....may i ask to what end? Will the characters read about or hear your criticism so they can change next time they want to be used in another novel?

If a character in a novel is Jack and Jack was a bad guy in the novel and you spend days and weeks and sleepless nights Criticizing Jack who happens to be non existent but only alive in the Novel how does this make you look?

Normal

Insane

Rational

Irrational

Plain stupid

I ask because only a mentally tortured soul would look upon the characters in a fictitious Novel whom they have not met or experienced or felt or heard from and begin to talk about them all day.

I remember when we were Kids and we would gather and be discussing VOLTRON and TOM and JERRY or CAPTAIN PLANET as if they were actually real characters appearing in the television but as we grew up we realized they were all unreal and then we knew that ONLY KIDS REASON THAT WAY especially now that we know better as adults.

WOULD I BE WRONG TO CALL YOU A KID?
First, we don't criticize god under the assumption that he is real!

Lol.. What if someone walks up to you and say he hates batman because batman is more like a bad guy, that opens an opportunity for a fun-driven argument, you guys can discuss about batman...

That's Exactly our stand on the criticisms of the Christian God, people actually believe he is real and good, and even try to make us believe in him.. Why the hell won't we criticize him?..

When someone walks up to you and says Harry Potter is real, can't you tell him Harry Potter is not real? Can't you discuss Harry Potter's role in the movie?

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household." Matt. 10:34-36

Anybody who cannot see that the above is talking about division is either not intelligent or dishonest.

Have you asked yourself why verse 35 starts with the word "for"?
HopefulLandlord, Edenoscar, 4evergod, Deicide

Ok, let's agree it means division, so is dividing people peaceful? I thought Jesus was perfect and a prince of peace? But he also said" HE CAME NOT TO BRING PEACE ".. . Felixomor, is this not another contradiction? Abi it's out of context? grin

You need a shrink kid.
Lol, do you read novels? Don't you also criticize characters in the novel? Don't you read stories in the literature section? Can't you criticize the characters in the story? The Bible is a novel! And we are free as hell, to criticize any character we want!

The sword was figurative and it meant A SPLIT...A DIVISION....Same thing that happened when The parents of Jesus came to meet him at the temple and message was brought to Jesus that His parents were outside looking for Him and His response was WHO ARE MY PARENTS OR MY BROTHERS OR SISTERS....THOSE WHO DO THE WILL OF MY FATHER ARE MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS AND MOTHER AND FATHER....That is the division the sword was talking about.

It means nothing else should matter except your salvation even if it means going against the dictates of your family which contravene the scriptures DO SO!

Oooooohhhh... The sword meant division, tell me more. . Just exactly what the video depicted, that's still what am seeing.. And I repeat, even if Jesus said "kill those who blaspheme", you'll interpret the "kill" as "preach to them".. . Nawa o..

I need to ask you a question quickly because you seem to think that Jesus meant violence when he used the word Sword right?

What then did he mean here in the same Mathew

Matthew 26:52-53:

52 "Put your sword back in its place," Jesus said to him, "for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. 53 Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?"

Jesus and his daddy doing what they know how to do best making contradicting statements!

Is it not the same god that wiped out the "whole world" Because there was too much violence? (using violence to eradicate violence)?

U went to the part that suited u.

You r on ur own with ur dishonesty.
It changes nothing.
Lol.. so you didn't also go to the part that suited you? I know if Jesus said "kill everyone who blasphemes me". You'll probably find a suitable definition for that "kill" just like Muslims have interpreted "strike her[your wife]" to hitting her with a toothpick.. *facepalm * embarassed

Have u seen "God envies" in the bible?
Or u think jealous in the original hebrew manuscript is "envy"?
U guys dissapoint me, honestly.

Please spend some money, get a concordance and a dictionary.(Honest advice)

Cheers
Here we go again with the Hebrew language interpretation sh-it!
Check the definition of jealous, or you can read it up in 4evergod's post.. showing envious resentment ... Abi envious is not the adjective of envy?
Religion / Re: The Bible Taken Out Of Context? by benzics(m): 7:43pm On Dec 31, 2016
4everGod:

When it comes to Christianity you are turn silly and loose all your logical sense of reasoning.

That crap you put up there has been trashed by me repeatedly and you guys need to stop rehashing stuff that has been shredded already

jealous
ˈdʒɛləs/
adjective
feeling or showing an envious resentment of someone or their achievements, possessions, or perceived advantages.
"she was always jealous of me"
synonyms: envious, covetous, desirous; More
antonyms: admiring, proud
feeling or showing a resentful suspicion that one's partner is attracted to or involved with someone else.
"a jealous husband"
synonyms: suspicious, distrustful, mistrustful, doubting, insecure, anxious; More
[b]fiercely protective of one's rights or possessions.
"the men were proud of their achievements and jealous of their independence"
synonyms: protective, defensive, vigilant, watchful, heedful, mindful, careful, solicitous, attentive
"they are very jealous of their rights"

Lol.. Ya right, doing what you do best.. Tweaking definitions to fit your explanation..

"I came not to bring peace, but to bring a sword" is one of Jesus' most controversial statements because its meaning has many interpretations. The immediate context is the entire verse of Matthew 10:34, "Think not that I come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword."

I know you also have an explanation or interpretation to the above, and I clearly took it out of context grin

That thread is really for you.

You need it, honestly cool
I understood where you were driving at in the post, because the popular texts we call contradictory, if going by the meaning of contradiction, are not really contradicting each other, just that some accounts has more details...

But in the picture above, the text is clearly opposite! Love does not envy.. God is Love... God is jealous...
God(love) is jealous ! = love does not envy (clearly opposite!)

Just confused though.

Do girls seriously lie about being raped so that they won't admit that they got deflowered willingly?

So this first girl have been telling me "she's a Virgin", although she's kissed other guys before me but she never allowed them under... Then she later told me that she's not a Virgin, that she got raped at 8 by her neighbor, she told me how it all happened, and I can't tell if it's true or not..

So I met this other lady, we got talking, kissed... So was chatting with her and asked her about her exes, she was like "my ex boyfriend never saw my panties", and sh-its like that, then she told me she also got raped by 3guys, one night when her aunt went to vigil(something like that).. As if it's one nollywood movie, that police later investigated and caught the guys (I was like for naija, na im police dy catch criminals? angry ), these our yeye police...

The story didn't settle well with me, I don't know, do girls intentionally lie about being raped? What's wrong if you're no longer a Virgin? Is there any special attributes Virgins have? Why can't they say the truth?
