And that is why you and your country are messed up. It's because you can't separate religion from living. You see... these were things I wish I knew while I was in school. I had a friend who is an Igbo guy back then and was learning business/trading while in school with us. Today, he is a Billionaire and has 2-3 registered companies (don't want to mentioned the field) with over over 30 products in his name while I am still running helter-skelter.
In summary, school is good but not ultimate! So, whatever happens to you, just take it easy. Above all, try to discover yourself, this is what is most important! While you go to school also pursue something else or build something else for yourself beside just education.

So, tell your parents you made a mistake.
