Politics › Re: Border Closure: Northern Textile Traders Say They Stand To Lose Over N3 Trillion by Beremx(f): 8:46am On Nov 03, 2019 |
BUSINESSARENAA: I once said that the closure of these borders is not a properly thought idea, but some ignorant entities were ranting up and down.
Rice is not the only commodity that passes through a border. There are a lot of genuine business that passes through the land border.
If you are importing or exporting to some of the west African countries, it's easier and more cost effective to use the land boarders than the sea port.
Imagine a man exporting textiles to Ghana from Kano, how possibly will he do that through the sea port in APAPA?
I am totally against rice smuggling but the government should have come up with smarter ideas to deal with this issue, and not shutting down the whole boarder.
Presently I have about two trailers of hides and skin from Mali parked at the boarder incurring bills, with high possibility of spoiling within the shortest period of time because of its present condition.
How do I import from Mali to Nigeria through the seaport?
It is only those that does not understand what happens at the land boarders that are jumping up and down.
Once again I reiterate my stance against smuggling rice through the boarders, but we have to be more tactical in handling certain issues as regards to our economy.
This boarder issue in Nigeria is like a fly perching on a man's scrotal sack, you have to apply wisdom in dealing with it, if not you may end up hurting yourself terribly bad if you hit it with great force. It is obvious you are a business man and business men like you know how this border thing is affecting you. All the ignorant people shouting border should remain closed do not have a single idea what people like you are going through. |

Nigerians will suffer more from the border closure. Someone with sense should tell Buhari the truth. Border closure is not all about rice importation.

naijadrivablog: Hmm. I am blessed to know a former Deputy Director of NAQS and he told me how he went to Tromsø to see how stock fish are cured and after that trip, he doesn't eat stock fish again.
The Norwegians that produce this stock fish (okporoko) don't eat it. It is for export only.
Just take the issue of rice from Thailand (5-10yrs stored rice sold to us) as a related case. Even America imports stock fish. Stop being ignorant. Nigeria is not the only country that imports stockfish. Do you know how rich stockfish is? Google it Up |

fairfora: Hello nairalanders. I have this colleague who was always sleeping in the office around july. He often complained of muscle and joint pain with dizziness and pain in his eyes and both sides of his head. Sometimes, he would be complaining of slight headache and abdominal pain.
I asked that some test be run by him, including an XYZ just to be sure. He did all that and all was negative except typhoid which was inherent in the diagnostic report with negligible malaria. He was placed on a broad spectrum ciprofloxacin. He was feeling relieved after which the symptoms came back.
He went back to the clinic and was placed on Zinax, a higher antibiotics. 2 weeks later, the symptoms came back again and this time, the dr asked him to repeat the test and still repeat the XYZ. As usual all came out negative except thyphoid. This time, he was placed on augmentine. In short, he completed the recommended dose barely 2 weeks ago and symptoms have returned as I speak . Yesterday, I asked that the test be repeated for the 3rd time same as usual. Please medics, pharms and traditional medics in the house, what drug can he use to get rid of this stubborn bacteria? the best treatment for typhoid is chlorophenicol. No amount of other antibiotics you take can cure it. My cousin is a certified nurse who treats such. Send me a dm in you are in Lagos |
