The first tithe was made compulsory by roman emperor in 777 AD. Go and do your research. Peter, Paul, James, john etc all know they are not eligible for tithe. All the early church leaders new tithe was of old. They never taught or collected or paid tithe.

Who are the modern day priest? From Mal 2:7..we see a priest as also defined as a man who carries the knowledge of God to feed God's people with, Which in modern day Christianity are Pastors, Teachers, Apostle and prophets who teach the God's word to the people of God in church as directed by God now comparing that with Jer 3:15. We see pastors are asked to feed the people of God with the knowledge of God. So priest are pastors also. So trying to confuse yourself on who are the priest and who is not can't achieve anything.
God instructed in Malachi 3:10 tithes to be brought to his storehouse( the modern day churhes were a believer is fed and taught the word of God)..so that God will keep the heavens of the tither open. In Heb 7:8 we are told that when the tithe is brought to God's storehouse(the church) men that die( refering to God ordained priest) receives the tithe and Jesus in heaven also receives the tithe and record it.

The blessing upon Bishop Oyedepo life cannot really be explained as it were considering he doesn't take from church nor books sales. I would think blessings come to him from members of the church that are blessed and other pastors outside the church or other folks who his ministry has blessed them. In the just concluded shiloh a pastor shared testimony of how because of his commitment to kingdom advancement endeavors God favored him to have 2 jeeps and properties and he won a supply contract with a Chinese firm worth $300m...the other day a pastor in winners built a facility worth 1bn in lekki and donated the church to Winners. These men came out of these ministries and tried to correct some things yet the ministries they emerged from are spared onslaught. As Christ said "any house standing against itself cannot stand". There is poverty everywhere..Dont think otherwise..i live in the West and you will see some white folks who are poor and begging for money from you..some of them are homeless.They hardly show that in the media
You will be suprised.There are many reasons that can be attributed to the poverty of majority of Nigerians..that a discussion for another day.
So poverty has no respect for Nation.
Just like in Nigeria, In America there are christians who do what christians in Nigeria also do..so i dont get the recent controversy and its aim.Its not a godly aim..i will think.

It doesnt matter what explanation you make those satanic agents of hell on social media have vowed to attack the church by propagating misleading stuff and garnishing previous videos of men of God to tarnish their reputation. Just watch this week we are entering they will edit and crop another video to potray another man of God as bad. Brood of vipers..
From attacking tithing, the would move to offerings, to releasing reasons why people should not even go to church but blessed be God.They have failed.

You just go to church and pay tithe, but your soul is not transformed. Your tithe doesn't benefit your soul.

Reading how curt a 'pro-tither' and richly (since that is the main thing now) blessed Christian like you has responded to comments to others on this thread in the defence of your beliefs further reinforces my own belief that I made the right choice on Christianity. And yes I agree with you, everyone should either decide to pay or not to pay. Asserting however, that only 'tithers' receive blessings (wealth) without sorrow is, with due respect, a truckload of garbage. That, right there, is why this African traditional Christianity which is very popular these days is scaring people albeit quietly and in trickles, back to the more conservative churches. How about the Hindus, Jews, Atheists, Muslims and other non-Christians world over that are blessed in ways in which are beyond even your wildest imaginations? If I go to the house of the Christian God this morning to pay my tithe with the sole purpose of receiving even more in return, have I given freely? What then makes it any diffrerent from my ancestor in the village who makes animal sacrifices to his African Gods in order to receive same, if Jesus Christ has died for me on the cross?

The outcomes of life are products of our choices..I have my beliefs and you have yours which is a choice and fine. While i have my view on what you believe in..i will not come to shove that opinion in your face and its not my business and I dont expect you to think you have a valid basis to tell me what to believe.I strongly believe in tithing and you dont..its not my problem nor my concern.I expect you to respect that and back off telling me stuff on tithing you think is right or whatever because i have eneough reasons to think otherwise.
