It's shortsightedness to want the government to wait until production is high before enacting social policies. Why are you Guys always waiting on the government to do shat? Why? Nigeria has many billionaires, millionaires (not in Naira but Dollar), why can't they or a congolerate of them start hwat is needed? Its' fglaring that the market is ripe for a manufacturer of affordabel cars.
Nigeria billionaires know what Nigerians wants. They are aware of what type of investment they should make. Investment all over the world is based on structures on ground that will work for you; culture and social need of the people. Why is it that the northern Nigerians are not investing in the production of cow hides winter jacket, for example. |
My take on this is that the government is starting with a wrong step forward. We don't have a technological advantage over Germany, USA, or Japan in the manufacturing of vehicles. Furthermore, if we have to rely on locally assembled cars from the major car manufacturers, who takes the profit? Nigeria/Nigerians or foreign investors/foreign countries? The federal govt mentioned that the foreign exchanged used on the importation of these cars for 2012 was $4b +. Majority of this amount comes directly from Nigerians residing in North America, Europe and Asia either from their line of credit or savings. The profit gained after the sales of these vehicles stay in Nigeria on other projects such as: farming, new houses or other investments. Contrasts the second and the third paragraph to making your deduction. Now, lets compare apple to apple. Malaysia have like 150% custom/excise duty on imported vehicles, why? They have a good structure to back their daily need and commune as regards movement of human, goods and services by investing on good roads and all forms of modern transport system. What do we have in Nigeria? This is your own line to answer... Please, lets start from manufacturing of tools and machines first and we'll gradually start or develop our own needs and manufacturing culture that will suite our various consumption pattern at different period and time. We should remember that there was a time when bikes was king, ship rules over the sky, tubes repairs by vulganizer. What do we have now? what will come next? Yet tool is always there |
@OP: This is very tempting. I love this type of adventure. I somehow never learn how to ride a bike even when my younger one owns old Honda GL1500 Power Bike. |
What the f is mileage ?
If you seat on the driver side of a car, there's something that looks like a clock just at the front of the steering wheel. That's is were the odometer is. It counts the numbers of distance you have travelled. We Nigerians are too smart for our own liking and as such we sometimes assume that we can get anything at a price that's convenient to us. It won't happen because you are not smarter than a average business man. There are other things that makes a good car other than the mileage. Even if you change the engine and tranny of a car to a lower or newer engine, you can't change the odometer; it's a criminal offence in USA & Canada. The quality of a car is not always about the body alone (clean as 9ja say it), it's about the engine, shocks, tires, tranny and battery. These are what drives a car. |
Ojix85: 3/4 mths? * faints *... oga Fheemmmmy oooooooTrust me, there are some things which we don't see but work in our favour. This will surely work in your favour. It is well |
I know that Makelele played to the best of his knowledge and comparing his skills to Mikel is a disservice to Mikel; he's far more intelligent and skilful. The tempo of play in Mikel time is far more faster compared to Mikelele's. Nevertheless, Mikel footballing skills can fit into any team. His present alignment is about his future endeavours. Mikel age (26yrs) is fast diminishing - at 34yrs footballers value is always at the lowest. This is the best time for him to get better disposable income so that his savings for the latter rain will be justified after his retirement. Presently, he pays too much taxes on what he takes home in England. In Turkey, he pays close to nothing from his weekly pay. It appears to me that this guy is very smart and knows what he's doing. It's not about big club; it's about his finances |

Femi is very right about shipping from Canada. It's faster sometimes and you'll bite ur lips when congestion feature in Europe. It may take 3/4 months for the ship to berth from the time of sailing. RoRo is only available through Halifax port and that is a long thing. Wish u the best |

Scam? The pix and price is suspect |
@aieromon: My advice to you is to value the car; take it and negotiate for the balance from the woman and move on with ur life. The more you stay on this issue the worse it becomes and as gossip spread the damage will be on your finances. |
This is a base line; that's what it is called. It's all about killing a process and whittling down a call over an alarming activity. This new trend is easy to understand. It basically diversionary. Nothing good will come out of this new "promise". |
Wunmi, This is a big shame on you. Some people thought you' changed and gave you a second chance and you blew it. i stopped all communication with this woman way back in early 2011 when i perceived that her character is very questionable. i also deleted her from my fb. to all: there are many way you'll get notice a scammer/potential scammer by doing a little PROFILLING. this lady unusually uses so much courtesy- things like 'my daddy'; separately wants to have new deal or introduce u to something catchy. why she's so this weird and stupid even beats me. she must be a drug addict, too. whether you like it or not, you're going down |
NIG 4 VS CIV 3 |
Everything that was said by the lady is very true. I know the whole saga because i've met her several times when they were dating. The lady is not about money; it's about her right. Femi mum is a very troublesome woman. |
I don't know where you got the VIN # from. Definitely, this is not a 2009. It's from 2005 - 2007 from what is observed of the grille. I have a 2006 Avalon, also |
Why is it hard for most people to comprehend, now? THE STATE RESTRICTED MOVEMENT OF OKADA RIDERS, NOT BAN. The statics given would have been compared to previous records of death using a base year, say, 2009. Is the goverment responsible for employing everyone? I asked around and found out that 80% of this okada riders arrived Lagos in 3 years. 50% claimed to come from the north; 35% from states that border Lagos state. Let's think about all these and to open our eyes to observe that 95% of the okada and operators and riders refused to put on the helmet whenever they ride. Is that not contrary to the law of the state. In the next few weeks or months you'll see the state implementing the ban on street trading and you'll say what exactly? That Lagos state should find job for them, also? Remember that these people are coming from other states. What happened to their government? where ever we find ourselves, let's follow the rules/law of that place. I have witnessed with my own eyes people been removed from NY to NJ, USA because they are beggars resident in another state. It's a restriction NOT A BAN. A life destroyed carelessly because of bread and butter is not what we should accept. |
^^^ The LX, EX, DX, are all trims of the car - the interior functions and buttons. the OP needs a car - fact. the OP gets a loan of N350,000 from a cooperative - fact. he earns 70k - 80k p/month - fact. it there follow that he wants a reliable commuter car for CONVENIENCE. you may go for the following that has less stress, low maintenance, not too common that it attracts thieves: coupe (2 doors) honda accoord 98 - 2000 honda civic 96 - 2000 coupe toyota camry 92 - 96 or 97 - 99 honda odyssey 96 - 98 ( it's a mini-bus that allows you to make some little cash from your co-workers that ply your route) wish you the best of luck |
It's a shame, really. There was a guy who wanted to buy my 2006 Avalon for a client of his in PH and he mentioned he's a dealer on NL. He might be the same guy. If you have his pix post it here i might be able to help you out. Please, Icme, refund this man money, haba. |
Emperoh: Very insightful!!The dash bag was re-fit not changed. The airbag ECU was reset and the light goes off and comes back on again. Yet, the airbags all deployed on the second crash. How they did it at Ladipo, beats me. |
Very insightful!! One questions, did you replace or fit back in, the one on the passenger end? When did the airbag light on the dash board go off? The dash bag was re-fit not changed. The airbag ECU was reset and the light goes off and comes back on again. Yet, the airbags all deployed on the second crash. How they did it at Ladipo, beats me. |
@OP: The guys at Ladipo got it right. It has happened to my wife's Sienna (05) airbags before. The steering was replaced and the dash was not replaced. I had to argue with them for a while because the dash ought to have been changed and it would take me like 60 days to get the dash down to 9ja. My wife would have non of that. The steering was replaced, dash reset, sensors replaced, airbags ECU was reset at Agidigbi, Ikeja. The whole thing worked perfect. How did i know? My in-law crashed the van and all the airbags deployed. Well, we sold it - it's bad-luck van. Is it not? |
There are many factors that contribute to the surge in sales of used 07/08 Camry. Many of this model was bought by companies and most sell it off after the Estimated Useful Life ( usually 5yrs ) Also recall that this model was purchased for some politicians some few years back, probably they are selling it off. In my opinion, there's not much to worry about compared to other make/model. |
