johnsmhelia15: When I got this, it was simply too good for me alone to read and be blessed! It's a MUST read for self development!
1. Make friends with successful people and occasionally buy them gift and surprise them with lunch because successful people always give and hardly get, so when you give them, they value the gift a lot.
2. Get a mentor and follow his instructions and respect the relationship. Never beg your mentor for money or disrespect his or her privacy.
3. Make new positive friends as often as possible and ensure you keep the communication line open. Create a network of friends and not just connections.
5. Show kindness to everyone. Some small boys today will be big boys tomorrow. The biggest dog in the neighborhood was once a puppy. And keep the information/secret to yourself.
6. Always plan ahead and be proactive. He that plans the future work less in the future.
7. Listen to speeches and messages from great teachers. Both religious and educational.
8. Attend seminars and training on any area you need to improve yourself. Train the trainer, personal development, public speaking, sales etc.
9. Have the habit of keeping a pen and a writing pad handy because ideas come in the form of flashes. The smallest pen is bigger and better than the biggest brain.
10. Make sure at every point in time you are reading a book. If you spend 20 minutes reading daily, for 52 weeks you would have consumed 1,000,000 words.
11.Stay away from television as much as possible. You can watch educational channels. Men with big TV sits in front of them to watch men with big library.
12 Put control over your mouth, never say evil of any man, what you are not certain of should not be said. Say good of all men.
13. Always show appreciation for any good deed you received.
14. Always help someone in need.
15. Live a debt free life. What you can’t pay cash for is not your size.
16. Give out loans that you can part with as gift, so that you don’t destroy your business and relationship.
17. Create legitimate multiple source of income.
18. Save at least 10 percent of your income.
19. Invest a portion of your income. And be patient to see it grow. If what you have in your hands is not good to be called a harvest then it’s a seed, sow it.
20. Keep a good financial record of all income and expenses, so you won’t ask later “where did my money go”
21. Be involved in community service. Control traffic, free lesson class for students etc.
22. Keep getting better on your daily goals and dream, develop yourself on them and make sure you get to the top 10 % of your industry.
23. Make sure you engage in exercise. It keeps your brain alert and your body fit to enjoy your success.
24. Pray often, and know that for every success, there is a stronger being that made it possible. I'm quoting this for keep. Thanks op. |

Olarewajub: Hey Happy Sunday!!
Did something similar to day in church and one thing have come to realize is that it keeps getting better everyday. Be desirous to have this kind of opportunity soon and remember to be always grateful. Thanks bro! I'll keep trying And I agree with you; every 'opportunity' to speak gives you a trail of experience that you can always consolidate on for future events. The earlier introverts come to terms with this learning curve; the better. Someday, or some how, the call to address a larger audience would start coming more out of necessity than persuasion. |

Please do well to share your experience with us after your presentation.
Goodluck. Thanks for the encouragement. The first few minutes were quite unnerving for your boy. Lol. My arms & legs were moving of their own accord. Then, I grew into it as the session progressed. Afterwards, the commendations started pouring in making me feel more exposed & muddled up. It was a great experience but I don't look forward to doing a repeat anytime soon. |

Nice post, op.
A good alternative to multi-tasking is calling out for help. Depending on the context, you can delegate a task & still score effectiveness for it. If your colleague is less busy & available, asking for a helping hand wouldn't be a bad thing to do. However, one good turn deserves another hence, the need to tread with caution on No. 6. |

Peeps, so yesterday, I got an 'unavoidable' memo from the HR manager that I'll be handling a session in one of our monthly meetings next week Monday. As in, I'll stand in front of a sizable audience to conduct them for 15 long minutes! I've been avoiding that for years, but they caught me yesterday. Anyway, rehearsals have begun. |

Can i write 2 stages at a time? For now, that's not possible. You have to pass all the papers in one stage before moving to the next. |

zlatan10: Introverts!!!! I heard you guys don't like celebrating your birthday....don't know if it's true Yes. Some of us don't like it. Even on my Facebook profile, I have my birth date hidden so nobody gets any birthday notification. So, with the exception of close family members & friends, most people don't know anything. It gives me much peace to have those calls & messages come in trickles, rather than being inundated with them. |

rationalmind: ...On the day of the interview, immediately after introducing myself. The first question was, rationalmind, can you please tell me the variants of windows 7?
Variants of windows 7? I asked the man. Yes, he answered.
Windows 7.0, Windows 7.1, Windows 7.2, I replied.
The wicked interviewer was just nodding his head and I was glad I had guessed right
The next question was, can you please tell me the variants of windows 8?
What is it with this man and variants of windows, I asked myself?
I replied again, windows 8.0, windows 8.1, windows 8.2.
He kept nodding his head and I was glad I perfectly guessed.
Several questions followed, some I got, some I missed.
As I came out of the interview room, I picked up my phone, opened Google and searched for variants of windows 7.
The result came and I saw windows 7 home, windows 7 professional, .....
I searched for variants of windows 8, same thing... Hope this lesson makes me a better person too. |

Career › Re: Choosing Between Acca And Ican by bfn1: 10:58pm On Dec 16, 2015 |
sureguy02: You need to put the following factors into consideration before opting for either one
1. Prestige/Recognition: ACCA is recognised all over the world except in a few countries like canada and the US. ICAN is more recognised than ACCA in Nigeria. ICAN is preferred in the Nigerian setting. You could settle for ICAN if you do not pan to work outside Nigeria, most especially if you have plans of setting up your own consultancy firm. Only people that qualified with ICAN are allowed by law to practise in Nigeria.
2. Cost: ACCA is far more expensive than ICAN. The current exchange rate is not helping matters. Each ACCA paper now goes for about 32K!!!. ICAN is relatively cheaper. The annual subscription for ACCA is now about 30K for students and 70K for members. ICAN is definitely preferable in terms of cost.
3.Flexibility/Results: ACCA exams are more flexible. They have increased the number of sittings in a year to 4(March, June, September and December). ICAN exams are written in only May and November. ACCA students already know the date results would be released even before writing the exams, while ICAN students need to speculate. ACCA is far more organised in this regard.
4. Entry Point: Non accounting graduates start ACCA from the scratch. Accounting graduates are given exemptions in four papers. Non-accounting students also start ICAN from the scratch except for some courses that get exemption in paper A1(Quantitative techniques in business). People that qualified under ICAN need to write 5 papers under ACCA, while ACCA peeps need to write only advanced taxation, business law and PSAF.
5. Venue for Exams: ACCA is written in only major cities in Nigeria while ICAN is written in almost every state. The venues for ACCA exams are more conducive than those of ICAN. ACCA students write their exams under tight AC in event centres and hotels, unlike ICAN.
6. Toughness/Difficulty: Many ICAN students think ACCA is very easy. They are wrong! ACCA syllabuses are more robust. Their exams are extremely time pressured. Many people get stuck at some stages. Nevertheless, ACCA exams are easier to pass. This is because the examiners are more lenient. They do not penalise candidates for doing the wrong thing more than once. If a wrong figure is used consistently and correctly in further analysis, the candidate would not be penalised further for the earlier mistake made. I think this is where ICAN is missing it. Passing ICAN is more about luck and grace and not just about the level of preparation or brilliancy. ACCA exams on the other hand are passed by brilliant and diligent students that cover every inch of the syllabus.
