musicwriter: The best means of doing that is pay priority attention to study of Yoruba language in schools and encourage widespread use in society at large.
And when they say western Nigeria was better-off before, that's very correct. In fact, Yorubas seems to be the worst losers in the Lord Lugard creation called Nigeria. Sometime ago, I was reading something about Yoruba people in pre-colonial Nigeria and how advanced they were already at that time, and at a point I was asking myself "how did such an advanced race surrender to colonialism?". Extended period of infighting which stretched up to over 30 years weakened them and made the eventual surrender faster and possible. The British with their guns and canon were quite a formidable force to go up against. |

ERockson: Arewa youth should be given an award for the quit notice strategy, They really gave Igbo political uppercut with this idea, Now, who is the unity beggar ? And what did the Northern governors say with regards to the threat and Arewa itself (not the youth)? I was hoping they'd toe the same line as the attack dogs (arewa youth) but no they did not. Some even called for arrest and some Northern leaders pledged their life in support of the Igbo's. This post sound pretty petty to me. PS: Last I checked IPOB ain't backing down yet. #GameOn |

I recall the incidence at the senate or house of rep (not very sure which one) where they were debating on passing the loan request of about $1.5b (again not certain of the exact figure). The SE senators/reps noted the SE wasn't captured and were supported by the SW colleagues amid some commotion. I stand to be corrected though. |

kettykin: Point of correction hypcritical and satanic APC , it was the PDP government that was responsible for the regeneration of the Music industry with the Government policy that mandated the playing of 95 percent of Nigerian songs every day.
What P square wants to know is how would the hypocrits who still purchase foreign made vehicles , buy foreign made shoes , go to foreign hospitals for checkup and treatments now decide to ban foreign music production.
Please discerning Nigerians, APC government does not mean well for Nigeria, they have not grown Nigerian rice industry neither have they encouraged Nollywood , all they want is to kill our indigenous musicians career , through scorched earth policies and highly jaundiced ethnic manipulations wow! the likes and shares is going thermonuclear lol... the thing with the truth is you can't stop the stink of it |

Only very few leaders would be this generous to a government headed by a character like Fayose. Diademk07: Did what exactly?
If you mean we supported Doctor ariyo, yes we did and I'm glad we did! Because ibo folks were hell bent on destroying the man's career even though the man only asked ibo to leave Lagos if they find it difficult to respect their host and that was after Ibo folks first called Lagos a no mans land. He never asked them to be killed! Why so emotional? I only pointed out what was wrong with your assessment. Besides, the placard wasn't only in support of the Dr but the Oba too. However, I believe not every Yoruba supported it, just like not every Igbo supported nor supports Kanus rhetorics, including those he was addressing in the said YouTube video. So please apply perspective in your analysis. |

omenka: Some of the people who've benefited the most from a united Nigeria are those calling for her destruction. If this man believes so much in the biafran course, what is he doing with an office in Lagos?
He calls himself a legal luminary yet fails to understand the very simplest of legal matters which is that the constitution of a sovereign state is SUPREME to any domestic or foreign charters or legal instruments.
I have never and will never be against anyone getting their desired country, but strongly against them going about it the way Kanu and his fans are.
The only thing they seem to be relying on at the moment and using to galvanise their supporters is HATE, and once you seem not to buy their narrative you automatically become a subject they must hate!
It is really absurd and unfortunate. In retrospect, he probably wouldn't be in Lagos if you hadn't fought to keep them in. Then, just like now, you still fight to keep them in. Ironical isn't it? |

Diademk07: What's this one saying?
Did you mean Doctor Ariyo telling the ibos to vacate Lagos for their biafra after ibos denigrated his ancestral land by calling it a "no mans' land is a hate speech? Did he ask for the Ibo to be killed? He only asked the Ibos to leave Lagos for their Enugu and aba if you folks can't survive without insulting your host everywhere. That's no hate, dummy but someone who was fed up of your stupidity on his land!
And who's this twitter guy we don't even know of!
The point is Yoruba didn't come out en mass to support some nonentity's hate speeches like how ibo crowds massively supported that illiterate called Kanu? Even Oba Akinolu was criticised and called to order by the Yoruba elders until he came out to say it was a joke!
Ikechu, better go back to your Youtube to read more about your foolishness! Yes, the Yoruba did actually, and with placards too. Just pointing out the obvious. |
