Nye m igwe a (give me that iron) Kedu ihe bu ihea, igwe (what is this, iron). It's even used sometimes in a conversation to signify dead end, igwe!
Igwe means gathering, if you add mmadu it becomes gathering of people, if you add aturu it becomes herd of sheep.
Dont suppose to know everything. If he chooses to express his name as wigwe, so be it. The meaning is still the same, you cannot dictate their dialect to them.

franchasofficia: Igwe alone can never mean gathering of people, it must be accompanied with 'mmadu' to form "igwe mmadu".
"igwe" for iron must also be used in a context to show the actual type of iron, igwe eji eme ego, igwe eji eti aki, igwe eji akpu uzù, etc.
"igwe" cannot also be used as heaven, it must be used like this; " elu igwé ".
In most cases the only time "igwe" can stand alone and make a full meaning is when it used to refer to 'the king'.

franchasofficia: In core Igbo dialect its called; Nwigwe or Nwaigwe meaning "the child of the king" but in Ikwerre dialect which is kind of pidgin Igbo just as we have pidgin English, they always remove "w" in "nw" pronunciation in Igbo.
Same happened to Wike which is Nwike or Nwaike in Igbo dialect meaning "strong child".
The war and the pre-civil war events made Igbo speaking regions outside Southeast to denounce their ancestral origin which can be traced to the Igbos, and its understandable for a people that lost a crucial civil war.
Even Jews scattered all over the world too because of conflict in their homeland. Igwe can mean multiple things depending on the pronunciation eg Igwe-Iron(metal) Igwe-heavens Igwe-gathering of people Igwe-king If that's how they choose to spell it, leave it for them that way. It's still right. |

From, Oba of Lagos to Remi Tinubu, to Fasholas expulsion of non indigenes, to Tinubu himself and his uncouth utterance (they shall labor to death), to 'Obituary', to the many protests asking Igbos to leave Lagos in 2015. More recently a known pastor has said he'll vote along tribal lines, the list is endless. You should apply proper context to the event. He asked someone in the audience to read that text in order to illustrate how tribalism has destroyed Nigeria. After the text was read he corrected that thinking by saying that everybody stands to benefit if everyone was going well which is what tribalism negates! Furthermore, the message wasn't created by just anyone, the source is a known tribalist and tinubu supporter, I've seen it weeks back. The last paragraph of your take already shows the hate in your heart. You couldn't even hide it. |

FreeStuffsNG: I am not sure you understand politics The mushroom party lp has not even a councillor seat in the whole SE yet PDP, APC and APGA share all the elective positions.
It is wishful thinking to expect PDP/APC/APGA members and political structure to vote against their own parties in an open secret ballot. The result will shock you like Osun's result. Those folks are not on the social media and definitely will deliver votes in like pattern that made PDP dominate the SE today.
SE is more likely going for PDP as usual but APC will try. No chance for any mushroom party except APGA.
Only if one is naive will I think social media promotion translates to votes. Most of them are not with pvc or on ground to vote on election day but social media won't tell you this until you see your awful failure at the poll result. Last Anambra guber election, one of the candidates was using social media format and he lule las las. check my signature for free stuffs! You are the one who doesn't understand politics. How did APGA unseat PDP in Anambra (Obi) and Imo (Rochas) with zero structure even during the days of high electoral malpractice? How did they almost unseat PDP in Abia (Alex Otti) with no structure? How did Oshiomole unseat PDP in Edo state with AC that had no structure in the state? How did APC unseat PDP at the federal level with no structure federally? In Anambra APGA has no house of Rep member nor senator but keeps winning the gubernatorial seat. My friend you are the one that doesn't understand politics. Politics is primarily simply ability to sway emotions of people, structure is secondary. |

The first coup left a vacuum in leadership in the West, mid-west and North and to stabilize polity he centered the government but still appointed leadership from the West North, Midwest and East as regional administrators. na inferiority complex dey worry them It's got nothing to do with inferiority complex but a lot to do with historical association. Historically, Ebonyi was created from Old Anambra and Imo States. First, Imo Was split in 2, Imo and Abia and then Anambra was split in 2, Enugu and Anambra. Lastly Ebonyi was carved from Abia and Enugu state generally. Uburu (where Ebonyi governor is from and Afikpo) have age-long historical ties with Abia hence the affinity between the 2 and it's easy to see why the governor wants them to be zoned together. So it's not unusual for the governor to make such request. |

Wiseandtrue: My opinion differs! Population isn't the problem but corruption is!!!
We have to work within our means as a country!!!
The legislatives is not only the problem, the Executives are too!!!
It will be hypocritical to fault the legislatives and ignore the Executive who has the final say!!!
The Executives cannot retain their extravagant life style and expect the legislatives to review theirs!!!
A good leader will lead by example!!!
Afterall it's one of his electoral promises he promised to review if elected!!!
It's not as if the government is doing so much for the people as it is
They are just servicing themselves!!! Our population is indeed the problem, but to understand how, you have to take a closer look at it in terms of economic considerations. Now our population may not be more than China's but have you considered the fact that the same China has a birth control policy in place? Have you ever wondered why they have refused to remove the policy? If you look at the Western world, the same is obtainable. From Europe to the US. They started with one man one wife, then through education and now though hypnosis, yes hypnosis (you can never see a Hollywood movie showing you a family with more than 2 kids) It may seem subtle but media controls our thoughts and behaviour for better or worse. For example look at the proliferation of churches in Nigeria. You'll find that Nollywood is the root cause of it cos almost every movie you see attaches every problem to something spiritual and ends with one clergy carrying out this spirit or that spirit. This affects the people's psyche and boom they start looking for such 'redemption centers' We can also see the impact of MTV on our youths these days. Now you say corruption is the problem, have you seen corruption arraigned in courts before? Is not not humans you see being arraigned? The correct assessment is that this population (when not a product of need) is what fuels the corruption in us. Let's face it, every human being is corrupt, but what fuels it and makes it manifest is when he/she lacks access to resources. That's what these other countries have come to realise and had been preaching birth control to those who want to hear. Based purely on economics of need in this 21st century, I tell you solemnly that no one needs (emphasis on need) more than 2 children. Anything more than that is want satisfaction and if you understand basic economics you'd know already that human wants are insatiable. In other words, we've populated our society with wants which then turns into want induced need later on as those children grow up and will need food, shelter, job and security. Lemme just end it with a simple analogy, all the world countries are keke drivers. The ones who have less to feed compared to their income will grow and prosper more than the ones who have more to feed compared to their income. Reflect on it. |

Even after baptism go and relax without prayers your will still be maturbating. Catholic Church doctrine is helpeless to it’s members that’s why priest commit fornication. Infact celibacy is not biblical no matter your church It is actually biblical by inference. Jesus was celibate, same was apostle Paul. The latter encouraged those who could go celibate to do so and those who can't to get married. That's what is it in the Catholic church. You take the vow voluntarily, nobody is forcing you. You can choose to get married and remain with the lay congregation or go celibate and join the priesthood. You can also leave at anytime. There's no compulsion to it. Cheers. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Rulling On Masturbation 2: The Stand Of The Catholic Church by bibe(m): 10:24pm On Mar 31, 2019 |
Kylekent59: Let's take a good read of these two examples.
Man A saw a girl outside/along the road, he was feeling very randy. He wanted to go close and force the girl to himself but instead, he went back home and masturbated.
Man B also saw a girl outside/along the road, he was feeling very randy. He wanted to go close and force the girl on himself, he actually did and he penetrated the girl and had sex with her.
Now, I want the catholics or pastors in the house to explain between man A and man B who sinned?
Also, doctors in the house, I need you to explain who among these two are imperile to STD/STI?
Ona in the bible was strucked dead because he allowed his semen to pour on the floor instead of him to ejaculate inside his late bro wife
Now, Masturbation comes in according to some pastors.
Now as a man, you came back home only to see your wife masturbating on the bed, how would you feel?
Likewise women, how would you feel if you came back and meet you husband masturbating?
Well, masturbation is the stimulation of one's genital to achieve an orgasm.
I didn't read where masturbation is a sin or who classified it under sexual immorality.
Finally, sex should be between a man and a woman. Have you ever seen a dog masturbating? like wise other animals?
Since it is done in an immoral way, there fore masturbation is sexual immorality.
Conclusion : If masturbation is immoral, and it doesn't involve sex(of two partner) , then masturbation is an act where by you have sex using imagination.
If you imagine yourself stealing and after the imagination, you get yourself is it a sin?
So therefore, I say masturbation is or is not a sine according to the way you see it. And you totally omitted the part where self control was talked about? Are you subject to your urges or are your urges subject to you? As for the Bible reference about pouring semen on the ground, the issue wasn't the fact that he poured his semen on the ground it was the intention behind it. As custom required then, if your brother was to pass away without an offspring you are required to reproduce for him. In his case he didn't want to produce an offspring for his brother (so he can take over his inheritance to himself) and lusted after his brothers wife just for the fun of sex. That was his sin (not about just pouring his semen on the ground). The thing with sin is it's usually the intention behind it that makes it bad. |
