Fhemmmy: Yes, you have enuf time as long as your admission is granted fast enoughIm applying with a transcript, im on 300 level, but only have results up to 200 level as i havent done anything year 3 exams. my transcript will soon be on its way to canada via express mail, is there anything i can do to preempt the admission/visa process. as in, instead of just waiting, are there other things i should be doing? Thanks some more. |
If every Nigerian behaved like the people on this thread, Canadians would have come to school in Nigeria. |
mr fhemmmy, thanks really much. |
Hello everyone, im new here. does anyone know if it is possible to get my visa in time for winter january 2014 at brandon university, i only just submitted an application and payment a few days ago. Thanks |
Hello People, this is the most wonderful thread on NL, way better than what i see on the front page, say so because of how courteous and ready to help everyone is. In the face of this much progress and lots of good news(congratulations to the succesful and goodluck to those still trying). I tremble to say, that I recently just submitted my online application and application payment 2 days ago (july 29th) to the brandon university to continue as a 3rd year student, with my transcript on the way. does anyone have an idea whether I stand a chance in time for the january 2014 winter term, visa processing et al? i know i must seem unserious what with all this talk of already completed medicals, trvs' and such, but my need to quit school in nigeria and relocate arose a bit late(end of june 13) and before i could research schools and attempt to process a transcript,it was already july. so here i am I have a second class upper result as it stands, dont know if that means anything, any suggestions would help. thanks all. |
That is tony anenih, and by the way he is not beside her, he is behind her, licking her ass. Btruth: ........and who is this gay man by the first lady? or, am I the only one seeing the picture? He can't be her brother I suppose. |
Somebody tell evans bipi that Mary mother of God has died. |
Have we not proven ourselves little better than monkeys with this jungle justice. In the first place, this civillian JTF are not trained at enforcing the law or judging guilt or innocence o. At the end of the day, did it not turn out that the aluu boys were not thieves. And who does not know that when police or indeed a crowd interrogate a suspect under coercion(by force) the suspect will eventually say what they want to hear in the hopes of being let go? And let me tell you this, it is easy to be on the internet advocating for other people being burnt if you have not been on the wrong side of the crowd before. When I lived in the north, I was almost killed by a crowd because the leader of the angry crowd-who happened to be my neighbour- did not like me( only for that reason, I did not steal from him, neither did I offend him nor harm anybody) yet he kept urging the crowd to make sure they killed me,I was in a pool of my own blood with a broken hand and almost unconscious when a police patrol intervened, this was a mob attack simply because of a personal bad belle.if not for police intervention on that day, I would surely have been killed. This could have been you. I beg all of you,let us not be carried away by our hate, wrong is wrong and right is right and a suspect is a suspect. Let us go after the people that made our justice system so crippled, the people that made us depend on CJTF as a law enforcement agency and Jungle Justice as a publicly accepted court of law, unless of course you think that those boys in aluu got what they deserved. |
I support the idea 100%. But how do these signatures translate? |
First of all, go down l... No sorry, scratch that. Ye, firstly,I have noticed that nairaland mods lean towards a tendency of moderating in uneven ways, even though I fully understand the purpose of moderating, mods, please moderate with moderation or defeat the purpose of the forum. That said, I think the man Yerima is obviously lacking in any convictions of his own, I say this because his primary excuse is because the prophet did it, people like these are dangerous simply because they tow a line that might not be consistent with dynamic occurences and changing times, if it is suggested to them that the prophet went on a jihad, without applying his thoughts to the issue, he is going to lend himself to a jihadist cause simply because the prophet did it without weighing in his mind whether the people perceived to be unbelievers have rights or a system of worship they also strongly believe to be the right.I believe it goes without saying that even though all of the prophets bore divine messages, they were nonetheless human with human inclinations and desires, this in itself allowed for flaws in their thoughts and actions, hence they could not be right a hundred percent of the time. Secondly, the fact that 12 year olds engage in sexual acts (with either fellow under-agers or the over-aged) does not make it okay to join the circus . The fact that their parents send them to prostitute for money for survival does not make it okay to patronise them. In this light what the senator would be insinuating is that since these children partake in such nefarious activities, it is then perfectly normal for him to go ahead and perform criminal acts against them, or for any deviant to go ahead and rape them, after-all theses children had carnal knowledge anyway. Lastly, I think the senator is only trying to whip up religious sentiments where it benefits him to, I do not see him sweating to bring up islam as it relates to people in authority stealing the collective common-wealth. I do not see him advocating for Sharia justice against the crooks in high places. I do not see him legislating(as his duties as a muslim -talk less of as a senator- call for) for the betterment of the lives of the unfortunates he has so aptly identified, even though he has proven he is all to aware of their existence and the conditions in which they manage this existence. People of nairaland, please let us not allow ourselves be divided on such topical issues as race and religion, we must come together to fight this common enemy. Do not let us be divided, even while we agree among ourselves, if we cannot find common ground, our children will forever be raped in marriage while we continue to argue about islam and christianity. P.S. I keep trying to change the molestation typo, not working. |
The girl is obviously tweeting from her back-end. Let her tweet about her father so that we can all understand her sentiments. Let us see how HER PAPA is better than Soyinka. Shebi Soyinka is only bad-mouthing, what of Abacha that bad-handled Nigeria to this position we are in now. And if badmouthing is sooo repulsive to her, how come she is badmouthing Wole? School isn't literacy, knowldege is. |
Billionaires: Promise me you will not get emotional as you always do and we will ttrash this issue as men and not sub-humans i find most of you on Nairaland to be. The facts are there except you are a 90s kid.Ehm oga poster, the fact that the bible says it categorises it under religious belief, not FACT. Unless you meant to say- the bible said it ,FACT. But relating it to Wole makes it an opinion. So that one is wrong. |
The statement reads "This Office", which yeye office? |
gabinogem: Educational system in Nigeria is a shame. My advice is 4 students to read more books, both educative & circular.Rectangular books are much better than circular ones. by the way, university of ghana is startin to look like a great idea, im in 300l now but if i leave my present school with a transcript, move to Ghana, lose a year, i have a feeling i'll be done with my masters in time for ASUU to resume. |
Why don't they just skip the whole election process and declare joe president, after all what is the importance of democratic processes in a democratic government, right? |
Imagine what this baby we'll be born into: monumental corruption, insecurity, crippling poverty(statistically most likely) to name but a few. But what makes it special i think is the total hopelesness of the Nigerian case. |
Megaman, i live in nigeria and i cant say its not true |
A report on CNN has recently rated Nigeria as the worst place to give birth to a child! The report's premise was drawn on a few factors including the economy and Health infrastructure, do you think Nigeria deserves this? http://twitter.com/ionlyretwitcrap |
Nigerians are so so soooo so stupid i have come to realise there is absolutely no problem with the leadership, it is the followers that are the real idiots, are we expecting the zoologist (who is now an animal himself) to rethink the error of his ways? when that same "error" is allowing him sell our birthrights for cold hard cash(while telling us to pray in order for him to achieve even insignificant milestones) like we are the slaves from the colonial era. We allow such a _____ (words cant describe it) to rule us and still we are ready to make excuses and go about our daily lives as long as the people dying from poverty are not us or our immediate families, chai. isnt it just convenient to sit on nairaland all day and whine and cry and do the same nothing we have been doing since before the amalgamation. Nigeria will either soon run out of crude or the world will sooner run out of a use for the crude, by that time jona and his grandchildren will be chillin in a totally luxurious setting wherever and we the people will be left to contend with the war that will have ensued from the poverty and famine we allowed him and his type put us in. You people dont worry u hear, make all of una jus dey here dey gist wit una self dey form "social revolution", when we should be out on the streets addressing the government that is killing us. Shame on naijans, Mumu people. |
Because it sounds like "New Wares Day" Go'head, say it to urself n see. |
Tayos' beau Bawo Okoro threw her a surprise birthday bash at the Southern Sun, Ikoyi, Lagos. Everything was hush-hush till the celebrant got to the venue where she was welcomed with an ear splitting ''happy birthday''. Tayo's family and friends gathered to say a stylish happy birthday to her, lots of food, lots to drink and the staff of Southern Sun sang the loudest happy birthday to the celebrant, hitting all the wrong notes while singing, it still was a lot of fun though. Eternal pictures and Moderndayeve..com were there to capture the bash.

I was scrolling through and caught an article which spoke my mind about Africans and Superstition. Please read. "An earlier post today broke my heart completely. A defenseless 70 year old woman stripped naked, beaten and eventually tortured to death for the only crime that needs no substantiated proof for anyone to be accused of - witchcraft. I could wake up today and claim I saw someone (who I probably never liked) chasing me around in my dream trying to feed me initiation food and boom, that is enough proof that ''so and so'' is a witch! Why are our minds so dark? Is it just a coincidence that people who are accused of witchcraft are always women, people who are accused of killing their spouses spiritually are also usually women! how many times has a man been made to drink any funny concoctions because he was suspected of killing his wife? Its obvious that people prey on the weak, it would be difficult to accuse a grown man of witchcraft because he can rise to his own defense, apart from the fact that men have always known how to take care of themselves, its women who are always the victims. I have argued this issue with people of more than average intelligence and educational background and a majority of them maintain very strongly that witches exist. They have never encountered one personally but they almost always have a friend of a friend whose mum's sister's friend had an encounter! I know someone who is quite close to me who had a bad dream about someone and proclaimed that the person was a witch. despite my pointing out to her that the night-mare she had about the person was probably because she had extremely negative feelings towards this person, her mind could not be changed. A few years later, she herself was accused of being a witch by someone and she was horrified! She could not imagine how anybody would think she was a witch. I din't want to point out that just as she knows with absolute certainty that she was not a witch that is how she knew then without an iota of doubt that the person she accused had some coven connections. People do the stupidest things and then blame it on someone ''jazzing'' them because they ultimately know that is the one fool-proof excuse nobody would dispute, no matter how unbelievable it may seem. You marry a second wife despite your friends and family being staunchly against it, fast forward one year and the marriage collapses instead of accepting your mistake like a man you turn around and say she ''jazzed'' you and believe it or not everybody believes it. Our superstitious beliefs are one thing we Africans are very proud of, until we become the victims of those same superstitions. Forgive my seeming insensitivity - I would not be surprised if anyone told me that before this very unfortunate incident the victim and her daughter Mrs Smith were probably firm believers in the concept of witchcraft, its safe to assume that a majority of us believe in witchcraft so its fair to assume that they might have believed in it as well. If you had asked our forefathers what could fly in the open skies apart from birds they would have replied only witches could do that, yet we are now masters of the sky, the African man takes his family to the UK for summer, flies to Abuja for business and pleasure yet still believes in witchcraft. Your great grandfather would have labelled you a witch in his time! The Oyinbo man who created the aircraft would fight to his last drop of blood to understand the unknown, we chuck it all up to ''the supernatural'' and go ahead and enjoy the pleasures of the Oyinbo man's discoveries and innovations. Why are our minds so dark? Its only an African doctor that would tell a patient to go and seek ''home'' solution to a disease he can't even diagnose because of his ignorance and too embarrassed to admit he doesn't understand what he is supposed to be treating, he shuffles you out of his clinic into the arms of the nearest herbalist you can find in your village or to a firebrand pastor who claims he can heal anything. If we were in a sane society, that doctor should have his licence seized but in Nigeria, incompetents like that flourish with the tacit approval of Nigerians with a similar mindset. The human race would have gone extinct if not for the efforts of the western world in curing diseases that affect us and their continued involvement in scientific research that prolongs and improves the quality of our lives. We as Africans enjoy these benefits, thank God for the whiteman. The western world had its dark ages as well, think back to the Salem witch hunts, those times were dark and barbaric but they moved on, freed their minds and look where they are now? We are fortunate enough to be able to walk down the path they have already trod but do we look back and learn from their history? The average African proudly proclaims themselves the target of ''spiritual warfare'', like that makes them special, after all you must be doing really well for someone to want to bring you down, right? People regale themselves with unbelievable tales in church to screams of Halleluyah from the rapt congregation in the name of thanksgiving. Some of these tales are so stupendous that ordinarily if you were not hearing it in your church or mosque you would have laughed the person out of the building but with faith, these stories become more palatable. A while back the some police officers in Kwara state arrested a goat! according to them, they were closing in on a suspect and he turned into a goat to evade capture but they refused to be hoodwinked so they arrested him despite his ''disguise''. People laughed, they were shocked by the ''stupidity'' of the policemen but i wondered, if you had interviewed any of the se policemen he would have told you beyond a shadow of doubt that the suspect actually turned into a goat, that is his level of understanding. What you think is stupid, he would swear his life on. Why do we think our own belief in witchcraft is not stupidity? after all that is our own level of understanding and we would swear by it to the very last? Someone of higher understanding would look at us and think we were the stupidest people on the face of the earth!" Isnt this saddening? culled from moderndayeve..com |
And you must sing in Yoruba. |
Even though i do not believe in god,I honestly do not believe religion should be scrapped, i think it serves a strong purpose and contrary to popular thought it is not to befuddle, whitewash or fanaticize the mind of its follower as seems to be the case but to instill law and order in society,if u think religion is unnecesary, think of the anarchy n chaos that would follow if there was nothin like religion,so at d end of d day, religion is more of a help than a harm to humanity, think of it as a necessary evil. |
Hello people, i am currently working on prototyping the first 24 hr world clock, this is a project i have been working on for about 2 years now,it is (to the best of my knowledge) going to be the first single face analog clock that can tell 24 hr time(i.e. Whether it is a.m or p.m) for any place in the world. It can be put to use in airports, stadia, televion, banks, homes, schools and indeed anywhere there is the need to know what the time is. This idea is still in initial prototype stage. |
ok now rok, go to facebook, bibi oye, thats me, u decide for urself. Im mobile so i cant see ur picture right now, mayb later, |
ever heard of david koresh, of waco texas and all the followers he murdered, he brainwashed them using the bible, aryan brotherhood, ku klux klan, all christians, hitler got his hatred of the jews from the bible, which led to the worlds worst ethnic cleansing spree, was he a muslim? your slave masters were singing hymns in church while your great great grandfathers were chained and sweating blood in the whitemans backyard!so i think we can safely say in disgust that christians are evil.would u pardon me if i said ur religion was evil too?but i wont say that cause im not ignorant, im not bigoted and im not a hypocrite and also my religion teaches me to be objective and gain knowledge before i rant in public forums and condemn a whole people and their belliefs.i only hope that can be said for yours'.as a last word i think most christians should try and lose the smugness you have for the modernised within an inch of its life, adulterated to suit all purposes type of religion u practise nowadays and go back to when religion was all about ur personal relationship with God and not about cheap ten a penny miracles and pastors wearing tailor made italian suits, cruising around in private jets bought with the sweat and blood of people who bus to church.remove the log in ur eye before removing the splinter in anothers'. |
isnt it silly and extremely bigoted to view the rants of a few illiterate puppets of the northern elites as the face of islam.do u have any idea how many hundreds of thousands were sacrificed to entrench christianity as a religion?nearly all white supremacist groups support their hatred and discrimination of blacks with authority from the holy bible.should we castigate christianity as a whole because western churches marry men to their fellow men, does that make all christians gays?because a few holy fathers in the catholic church poke little boys from behind does that make all christians peadophiles and perverts?pls be objective, dont turn this issue into a tirade against islam.THERE ARE MODERATE MUSLIMS AND WE ARE IN THE MAJORITY,MOST MUSLIMS ARE PEACE LOVING INDIVIDUALS AND OUR RELIGION PROMOTES PEACE,PLS DONT GET IT TWISTED. |
yaragoat is an incompetent nincompoop and a hopeless nonentity(who just happens to be a president). he consistently chooses battles that he cannot [except in his drug addled brain]ever win,he is a coward who has chosen to deflect attention from his woeful handling of a country which never gave him the mandate to rule them in the first place rather than face up to his responsibilities(even as a man).he is the most unpatriotic citizen of any country that iv ever had the misfortune to come accross. He promised his uncles and aunties 6000 mw,he failed!started with the militants, failed again!curbing corruption, another lost battle, the economy, more failure.PLS,TELL ME,WHAT IS HIS BUSINESS WITH LAGOS STATE AGAIN E NO DEY DO YOU!!!, at least face something you can accomplish mr man. I wonder if the man really is educated, can he read, does any body know for sure?ok even if he can't read,at least he can watch tv, because even if he grossly misunderstands the concept of leadership,he should be able to watch admire obama on tv, do something good for once in your life mr yara, start ruling or resign. |
I think we should hold the one million man march in abuja, march into aso villa and drag yaradull out with his babanriga ,lynch him and feed him to the dogs but as we are in a civilised world,we cant do that, i guess we'll have to make do with placards to unleash our frustrations. The march is a great idea though,if we cant join them we can at least embarrass them. |
