I'm not related to this girl don't know why her demise is really paining as in my chest has being very heavy physically since yesterday, it could be that I've being monitoring her progress ever since they were first commissioned in 2017. NAF has spent nothing less than N70m to train her to the level she is this is same for her colleagues that were sent for flight training across the globe. This is a testament to the quality of (wo)men in NAF, no arm of service in Nigeria match this feat.
Life is really unfair. e dey be me like say her village people activate 5g network because it's so unbelievable. The person that hit her accidentally will have this guilt in his/her heart till death.
Very painful something.
Felt the same way bro ...!

MORE BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS NEUTRALIZED, LOGISTICS FACILITIES DESTROYED BY AIR TASK FORCE OF OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE AT MINA IN BORNO STATE

1. Several Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) have been neutralized and their logistics supplies destroyed in air strikes executed by the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE at Mina along the Gulumba Gana-Kumshe Axis in the Northern part of Borno State. The feat, which has further destabilized the BHTs’ new leadership and curtailed their freedom of action, was achieved on 3 July 2020 as part of missions being executed under the subsidiary Operation LONG REACH II; sequel to Human Intelligence reports indicating that the BHT location had recently been reinforced with fighters and logistics supplies to provide resistance against nearby friendly ground troops’ positions. Confirmatory surveillance missions also observed significant numbers of terrorists in the settlement.

2. Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets detailed by the ATF to engage the location scored accurate hits in their bombing runs, neutralizing some of the BHTs and destroying some of their structures, including one of the terrorists’ logistics’ huts which was seen engulfed in flames. Some of the fighters who escaped the bomb attacks were mopped as the jets strafed their hiding positions.

3. The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, commends the ATF for their dedication, dexterity and professionalism. The Defence Headquarters equally urges them to intensify the air offensive against the terrorists and all other criminal elements threatening the peace and security of our beloved country.

Seen far too many private companies get stuffed by government or army hierarchy change. If Proforce after investing significant sums could get iron clad agreements to supply the government, even better.

Great revenue stream too. Gabion walls, shoreline defences and so are some of the other uses.

Instead of going for $1 million 'Lamborghini' drones. Dicon should get serious and look for an OEM Chinese/Nigerian factory or get 'Hesco Gabion' machines, install them and start manufacturing this.

You armchair Generals again speaking on operational matters you think you know about. Have you ever considered that there are nowhere near enough platforms in the air force's inventory to maintain a 24 hour coverage of the NE? And you have the platforms scattered over the country on different operations.
Then there is also downtime involving maintenance etc. Only 80% of not many platforms are available at any time. The Airforce needs a lot more close air support aircraft and attack helicopters than they currently have when you look at the size of the NE. There are also aircraft tasked on other missions and as such also not available at your beckon call.

More advanced countries are more successful in responding because they have aircraft available in the air near 24/7 as they have numbers as well as air to air refuelling to keep them airborne for long periods and available to attack when required with Forward Air Controllers always on the ground (I am sure a few people here think a pilot will just show up with his aircraft and immediately know friend from foe).

This is where the Tucano will be helpful with their loiter time as we don't have air to air refuelling to keep aircraft in the air longer. The pilots are getting trained, what we need now are the platforms in significant numbers.
Just saw this post now !
I agree with you bro.

The way we pad our helicopters with equipment that isn't factory fitted aka follow come is an eye sore to me honestly. I know NAF has to work with very limited budget, but we can do better sha.
See like them pad that Agusta Helicopter (AW109) that shit is not meant for battle one catapult aimed at the engines will bring it down, this is aside limiting the range, efficiency/agility.
But have seen videos of the AW109/AW109E used by the Philippians airforce to fight ISIS, that’s why we used them in low threats area like the north central where we don’t have technicals.

ENHANCING ANTI-BANDITRY AIR OPERATIONS: NAF COMMENCES CONSTRUCTION OF APRON, HANGAR, AIRCRAFT SHELTERS AT KATSINA AIRPORT

... AS CAS RESTATES COMMITMENT TO DEAL DECISIVELY WITH BANDITS

Following the recent massive deployment of air assets and ground support equipment to reinforce internal security operations against armed bandits, cattle rustlers, kidnappers and other criminal elements in the North West and North Central parts of the Country, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is set to build an apron, hangar and aircraft shelters at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport Katsina, which serves as the Headquarters of the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI. The aircraft shelters would ensure that aircraft deployed for operations in the North West Theatre, with their delicate onboard avionics and electrical instruments, are not unduly exposed to the harsh effects of weather. Similarly, the hangar would provide a more conducive environment for the conduct of maintenance activities thereby reducing the need to fly aircraft outside of the operational area for the conduct of repair works.

Speaking shortly after inspecting the project site today, 23 June 2020, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, who has been in Katsina since 20 June 2020, to oversee the progress of the new subsidiary air interdiction Operation, codenamed WUTAN DAJI, stated that the facilities being emplaced would no doubt enhance the NAF’s operations in dealing with armed bandits and other criminal elements in Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna and surrounding States. He stated that the construction work would be executed through ‘direct labour’ by NAF Engineers from the Directorate of Services, noting that some of the materials, including the frames for the aircraft shelters, had been relocated using NAF C-130H aircraft from another NAF unit, where they were not being used. Air Marshal Abubakar added that the new facilities would also form part of the infrastructure for the NAF Central Flying School, once fully activated.

While expressing his gratitude to the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Rt Honourable Aminu Bello Masari, for allocating the land for use by the NAF, the CAS equally appreciated the Emirs of Katsina and Daura as well as the good people of Katsina State for their support to the Service, especially in the provision of useful information. He emphasized that the fight against banditry was a collective responsibility that required the cooperation of all well-meaning Nigerians.

Speaking on his assessment of the conduct of Operation WUTAN DAJI, Air Marshal Abubakar stated that he was satisfied with the progress so far made. “With 10 surveillance and attack aircraft deployed, we have flown over 100 hours in about 60 sorties since the Operation began 3 days ago. In all, we have conducted 13 air interdiction missions that have taken out 10 armed bandits locations with scores of the bandits killed and some of their leaders neutralized. We are already getting positive feedback on the tremendous results of the air strikes. You will get more details soon”, he said. The CAS added that the Operation HADARIN DAJI Air Component had also continued to provide close air support for the Land Component’s clearance operations within the Theatre; emphasizing that the overall objective was to employ all means available to deal decisively with the armed bandits so that they have no breathing space and can no longer terrorize innocent citizens.

The CAS, who was conducted on the inspection by the Air Officer Commanding Special Operations Command, Air Vice Marshal Charles Ohwo, and the NAF Director of Services, Group Captain Abdullahi Abubakar, was accompanied on the visit by Branch Chiefs and Directors from Headquarters NAF as well as other senior NAF officers.
