I have nothing against Ribadu, infact, I still admire the man. He's a fine Nigerian. It is a job, I'm only paying attention to the job evaluation and I feel that it could be done much better. It is that simple. I do my job very well and to the best of my ability every single day or else I will be sent home. I'm sick of Nigerians who settle for less and who dance to any music. At Mr Ribadu's level and position, I think perfection should be embraced at all time. Stay blind folks, but I refuse to be in your group. How can we discover the best if we continue to embrace failure? How can we move forward if we continue to worship obvious failure? Releasing Mr Ribadu for poor performance and for fooling with OBJ dirty business will only empower his successor and the rest. Mr Ribadu remains a fine Nigeria in my book, but that doesn't mean I should be blind, because Nigeria as my country means more to me. |
@ MAMAJAMA: please, give me a break! |
@MAMAJAMA: On Ehindero's position: What is he doing to protect the police and get them more money? What is he doing to upgrade the police station all around Nigeria? What is he doing to prevent police from running out of gas when ever their service is needed? What is he doing to protect the citizens? What is he doing to fight corruption (bribery) within Nigerian police unit? What is he doing to upgrade Nigerian police weapons? I heard the criminals hand guns and other gadgets are much more advanced. |
MAMAJAMA: Please, do not let us talk about this clown "Ehindero" Don't let us go there! The man has absolutely no strategy in place to stop thugs in Enugu or Ibadan and when you turn around he's over there lunching new uniform. Is this what we need at this point? And by the way, how much money did he make with this new uniform deal? Please, let us stay focused and forget this clown. |
The question is what is next after arresting all these politicians? Have you thought of what will happen next? What will happen to the nation? What will happen to the citizens? Have you been following Atiku's case? How long and how much money spent and wasted so far? My man, it is a rat race; the system is corrupt and the culture is dirty. Nothing as usual will come out of arresting all these people. Wake up, too many are corrupt; even the judges/ SAN are all dirty. We do not have Jesus or God in Nigeria to judge anybody. It will be waste of money and time. I say implement a better strategy to prevent corruption. Prevention is better than cure. |
Mr Ribadu's position is very similar to an astronaut's job; there is absolutely no room for silly mistakes. Things will go a-lot smoothly for us as soon as we (Nigerians) start to take our Federal Government positions serious and embrace them as an astronaut's. Do you get it? |
What is your point? Are you saying we do not anyone in Nigeria that can be dedicated and do a great job much better than Ribadu? My man, you've got to be kidding me; I think you've been away for too long. Definitely, we have many others, but we will never discover them if we continue to embrace failure by not releasing Ribadu for not performing accordingly. Don't get me wrong, Ribadu is a fine man and he has done a fine job, but we can also use this opportunity to send message out there that perfection is our best friend. You must note that his position requires mistakes free operation and this is very far from what he has done during his time. |
You see, here we go again. Instead of focusing on the subject, we are starting to call names. Absolutely no need for that. You should go back and read your post and you will realize that we are saying the same thing. Yes, we must continue (war against corruption) with a better strategy in place and this can be done effectively and efficiently without getting the old failure (Ribadu/ OBJ) involve. Don't you have confidence that we have millions of other credible people in Nigeria that could build on the foundation Mr. Ribadu has done a great job implementing? |
Sometimes you make a move to send message or to empower our state of mind or mentality. I do not think this is a right message. By having Ribadu in the picture again means the same old story, the same old game, the same old dirty business, the same old failure, and finally it means OBJ is still in the picture. We all should be craving for new Nigeria, new strategy, new people and new image. I hope we will get it right one day; may be in 20 years, when I'm fully ready. |
Whatever it may be! The man needed to be sent home. |
Ribadu being promoted to AIG: Well, it is what it is. I'm happy for him and I wish him the best; hopefully he will be a MAN this time around. However, I still do not think this is the right move; to me, it is more or less embracing failure, which happens to me Nigerian way of life. There is no second place in developed countries, it is either you perform or you keep trucking. And this is one of the major reasons why we call these countries developed countries. We are very far from this group because of our mentality. We have a long way to go. I believe releasing Ribadu would have sent a positive message to his successor that there is no place for silly mistakes and perfection is our best friend in Nigeria. It would have also sent a message that this position is to serve our nation not the president. By moving him to the AIG position is an indication to all that it is OK to fail the country, a totally wrong message from the top to the bottom. Another way to say "there is no challenge holding top government position in Nigeria". Regardless of what happens from now on, the stain remains (he will always be remembered as OBJ's dirty tool or toy or boy scout or what ever you wish to call in). I still admire the man and once again, I wish him the best. I also think he will do a better job than the clown that is currently holding the position. May God bless sweet Nigeria. |
Mr Ribadu has done well by starting something incredible. It is a shame that the end wasn't that pleasant, but in general Ribadu has been nothing but a blessing to our great nation. There is end to every beautiful thing, I think it's time for Nigeria as a nation to move forward. The foundation is visible, someone else should be allowed to carry on the process. It will be better and sensible for a new Nigeria to move forward with out Mr Ribadu. I'm pretty sure that another incredible unique and credible individual will be discovered to build on the foundation Mr Ribadu has implemented. It's the new beginning, new people, new strategy, new mission and new country. |
@Backslider, one love. New development: I was informed that NEPA has already been sold, and it was sold to just one entity. I'm totally against this move (selling NEPA to an organization instead of 3 or more organizations is not the right strategy); I truly believe that this latest Federal Government move will only promote monopolization in Nigeria and this is the last thing we need at this time. The first priority of the FG is to protect the citizens of this great nation, but if this information is correct, I do not think this move will be beneficial to the citizens. I was also informed that the big dogs behind the production and sale of diesel are not too happy about stabilizing electric supply in Nigeria. As we all know, stabilizing electric supply in Nigeria also means the demand and supply of diesel/ generator units will decrease drastically. FYI: This infomation has not been confirmed, but if you know something please do not hesitate to share. |
One week Atiku can contest, next week Atiku can not contest, the following week may be Atiku can contest, 3 days later Atiku can contest, 8 days later Atiku will not be allowed to contest, 5 days later Atiku will be on the poll, 7 days later Atiku is not going to run for the presidential election, 2 weeks later Atiku is a perfect condidate and he will contest, 5 days later FG must stop Atiku, 3 days later nobody can stop At1ku, 6 days later OBJ will not allow corrupt leaders to contest, 6 days later it is confirmed that OBJ is also corrupt and has no right to stop anybody, 10 days later Atiku must be stopped by the senate, 7 days later NBA must allow Atiku to contest. What is this is? Wake up guys. They've turned Nigerian constitution into a monopoly game and turned Nigerians into a group of deaf, blind and dumb. It is sad and unbearable. Questions: Why are we even bother to vote? Do you truly think that our votes count? Why is the current administration so determined to stop Atiku? Who will truly benefit from stopping Atiku? Who is truly clean out of all the candidates? May God show us the right path and may God bless sweet Nigeria. |
Back to the topic: People like Achebe should be taken serious and definitely he has right to speak about anything regarding Nigeria. He is not only a great senior citizen of Nigeria, the man is knowledgeable, and has solid credibility. He's one of my favorite Nigerians. |
@adconline: Why are you wasting your time coaching MAMAJAMA? Trust me, it's a mere waste of time. Some lack basic common sense, some just have no clue while the rest are just simply stupid. MAMAJAMA is my boy, but honestly I'm still trying to figure out which hat will fit his BIG HEAD. From time to time, the guy just loves to open his mouth as wide as Kanji dam and download rubbish. I've learned to ignore and move on. I Love you, MAMAJAMA, but please think before you speak. |
Posted by tijehi: sunny okogwu is different from sunny odogwu. u guys should get your facts right before posting on this forum. and of course sunny odogwu has alot of investment in his home town, asaba, where he provided alot of employment for his people. check out his Grand hotel, amongst the the three best hotels in the niger delta. Sunny okogwu, is from across the niger (the core ibo speaking people). sunny odogwu is between 71 and 75 years old. yes he is maryam babangida's cousin, but he's being a wealthy man, even before babangida joined the army.Thanks for the correction. |
Posted by Topsido: He said it all/ Chinua Achebe will pass for one of the most stupid man i have ever known. Apart from the fact that a old man ought to know that it isn't good to speak with all mouth open, i wonder what he is doing in UK at 77. He should shut ,up. He can't represent u8s. AGBAYA@Topsido: My man, your words are a-little bit too assailing; you need to slow down and take your own advise. This is democracy, it is OK and fair for one to express how he or she feels if things are not being done accordingly. Chinua Achebe happens to be one of the greatest Nigerians around today and one should be very careful when it comes to judging unique individual like him (Achebe). Let's slow down before Things start Falling Apart up in here! Get it? |
Hey, folks: I'm sorry, but it is what it is; it's easy to tell that she has what it takes. She is pure, focused and her energy when it comes to politics is magnificent. She is 3 times a lady! This is the honest truth. |
I don't know what it is, but something tells me that 3 times lady like Razor is capable of getting it done effectively and efficiently. She is different and one could just feel her energetic drive from a distance. |
He (next President) has no choice, but to move forward with it. It is clear that without it, Nigeria as a nation will continue to crumble. The advantages of Privatization in Nigeria at this point is overwhelming and one has to be totally blind and dumb not to see it. This is a win win win situation: The investors will make money, standard of living in Nigeria will improve drastically and the Federal Government (current administration) will also look like a superman. This can even promise a guarantee 2nd term for the next president. Absolutely nothing for us to lose and no reason to panic. |
GNature: Is it going to make you feel better if I say " it will take 15 years instead"? My point: It doesn't matter, as long as the improvement is visible within a short period. At this point, my man, anything is better. Let's move forward by implementing privatization as soon as possible. With strict Fed Government regulation, I'm 100% sure that it will not take 40 years to stabilize things. |
@t4stowe: I don't get it, what's up with the picture? |
@bobezey: I feel you! |
I said 80%, not 85%. 85% will be too much, but 80% is doable. On a serious note: Strict government regulation will make this (80% improvement\15months) happen effectively and efficiently. We've been in the darkness off and on for over 40 years; enough is enough, it's time to do something different. Bring on the privatization. Privatization will increase high skilled employment opportunity, it will motivate Nigeriansw from all over the world to come back home, it will restore Nigeria as an attractive country once again, it will also attract investors from all over. We have absolutely nothing to lose. |
What can we do to send message to Nigerian university students to stop sh****ng around the campus? What can we do to send message to these people to use the toilet instead? My point: the system is corrupt and the culture is dirty; till we correct those 2, nothing will be successfully accomplished in Nigeria. Sorry folks, that is the honest truth |
If the election process is reliable and the voters are well educated, the last thing to worry about will be the candidates; but it is clear that we (including the president) do not have any confidence in our election process or the voters and it is a big shame. OBJ has 8 years to correct this, but it wasn't important to him till now. I wonder why? My point: stopping candidates from contesting is only the short cut (what Nigerians love), but educating the voters and improving the election process is the long term solution. And this is what we should all focus on. A true leader, a dedicated leader and a successful leader doesn't focus on short cut solution (that accommodates his current desire), he focuses on long term solution for the future of his nation. I wonder how much money we've spent so far on stopping these candidates? Don't you think the same money could have been spent on educating the voters and empowering our election process? But guess what? Leaders in this country are more involved with their own personal agenda, and Nigerians (dum dums) are too quick to dance around things they truly do not understand. I wonder when our people will finally wake up? |
I hope the uniform has extra pocket to collect bribe! |
I don't know what it is, but Ms Razorr amazes me. I think she has what it takes and 3 times a lady. My point: Not all the girls are the same and it is unfair to put all of them in the same box. Razorr is a different type; she's cool, intelligent and can take it to the next level at any time. |
MAMAJAMA is a big fool! lol |
Nigeria is ready to change for better and forever. Privatization with Federal Government strict regulation to protect the citizens is absolutely the way to go. |
