Imagine Atiku as the next Nigerian president; what will happen to OTA farm? what will happen to all those Trans. stocks and what will happen to OBJ, himself? This fight is not for us, Nigerians. It is OBJ's personal fight, may be the biggest one of his life. OBJ is very paranoid and scared of any revenge coming his way from ATiku. |
@MAMAJAMA: You're absolutely correction "we created the problem, hence we should resolve it by ourselves" The only problem here is the fact that there is no "WE" anymore in Nigeria. The nation is totally divided by greedy leaders and believe me, this is a very dangerous zone. We need a strong leader, who is determined, focused and experienced to lead and reunite this country; or else we shall continue to sing the same song for many years to come. Yes, OBJ wants to do a lot, but the man doesn't posses charisma, no style, no leadership skill, unprofessional and definitely not respected by all. When all these qualities are missing, pretty much you're not capable. United States and others could see this clearly and will not take the chance to leave us alone. |
I knew IBB's name will be mentioned sooner or later. Hey, I'm not here to justify anything, but keep in mind that some of these governors were already rich men before they became governors. Furthermore, you just never know, some of them may have used thesame strategy OBJ used to revive Ota farm, to agglomerate all these houses. |
What have your leaders done for you lately? Stop blaming whiteman for everything, we've created most of our disastrous situation by ourselves. |
@MAMAJAMA: Read your own post, you've made the point yourself. Can you blame United States for getting involved? It is called win win situation; United States will prevent any potential stoppage to their oil supply from Nigeria, Nigeria on the other hand will regain the stability of the nation and many lives will also be rescued from danger or possible harm. Hence, yes indeed the situation is advantageous to both sides. And I see nothng wrong with it. Moreover, it is very common and human nature to only get involved with situation that is beneficial; let's face the fact, how many of us will voluntarily get involved in situation that is not beneficial in any way? Come on now, we are Nigerians, let's keep it real. Stop bashing United States for looking out for self, let's bash the hopeless leaders that continue to drag us on the floor. May God bless sweet Nigeria |
@McKren: You're very correct, "we do not have a responsible government" Therefore we do not have any choice but to answer to United States. Trust me, every successful leader or politician knows better not to ignore a request from United States. You can not compare Russia to Nigeria; it is totally unfeasible. Comparing the two is just like comparing Adewale Ayuba to P Diddy. As long as our leaders continue to show incapability, United States of America will be forever in control. It is sad and disappointing, but it is the fact. |
I can also bet you that Aso Rock will respond quickly with their "Home Made Evidence" Believe me, Aso Rock knows who is the master; and we can not blame anybody for United States involvement, but the greedy undedicated leaders. |
@McKren: I can careless about any scenario of the past. My main concern is the security of the potential election casualties (innocent citizens) and the future of our great nation. We can not continue like this, it is not constructive and it seems like a time bomb waiting to explode. Trust me, the explosion will be very unbearable at all levels. Have you read about Somali, Sudan, Liberia and Haiti? All these countries are economically dead for at least another 30 years. and why? and for what? Look, it is obvious that our Oil is getting us some positive attention from United States, why not take advantage of it? There is no need to be panic and definitely no need to flex our dissolving muscle. Believe me, it's not about ego and pride; it's about security and future of our nation. Do not let us make a senseless mistake that we will be paying for, for many many years to come. Bring it on United States! I can bet you guys that Aso Rock is rocking like a lost boat with this one. It is a blow to the presidency and his dirty cabinet. |
@McKren McKren, I'm very sorry. And believe me, I love you. |
@azorjiu: Eventhough it is unprecedented, but United States have the totally rights to get involved. Reasons: Your leaders continue to display to the world that they're lacking the necessary ability, qualification, or strength to perform and lead our nation effectively and efficiently. And guess what? When the sh*t hit the fan it is very common, infact inevitable for country like Nigeria to crawl back to United States for help. Currently, United States is very busy with her own problems all over the world; this is why it is very imperative for them to take a proactive action to kill the fire before it becomes uncontrollable. It is sad that most people do not think this way, but it is a proper action and I commend United States for it. |
Quote by McKren Someone is getting fund of me on nairaland, otherwise how would you explain a situation where someone refers a post to me even when am yet to post, or how will you explain him typing my name in bold and others normal@McKren: Please do not get carried away, it's not that serious. I've only referred this post to you because of a related discussion we had few weeks ago "Atiku inviting United States to monitor the coming election" Can you remember? Please, believe me, my man; you're alright, but not that important to me. Furthermore, if typing your name in bold is making you uncomfortable, I promise, I will stop. |
@loverBwoy: No way. I'm a leader, not a follower; I will never recommend such a thing. |
@McKren: EFCC and current administration have shown the world over and over again that they are a symbol of total failure. It is too late and inevitable for United States and others not to get involved; as I've recommended in the past. Our leaders have sold themselves at a very cheap price, hence at this point it's impossible for a foreign neutral body not to get involved. Our leaders have shown the world that they are totally incompetent to do it alone effectively and efficiently. I still believe that without a neutral body monitoring and coordinating the coming election, it will be a total calamity and innocent citizens will be the ones to pay. It is sad and very disappointing, but Bravo to United States and EU. It seems to me that none of these leaders cares about the future of our lovely nation. When I close my eyes, I see Somali, Liberia and Haiti; it is appalling, something most be done ASAP. |
EFCC list: US, EU ask for Evidence Washington has challenged Abuja to provide evidence on which it leveled corruption charges against some leading opposition candidates. The State Department said the action became necessary because of the " seriousness of the accusations and the implication that those implicated have been adjudged guilty even before a trial before a competent court." The tough talk from the U.S government underscores the growing concern of the international community to the face-off between President Olusegun Obasanjo and Vice-President Atiku Abubakar. Sources said the statement followed a formal protest lodged by supporters of Vice President Atiku Abubakar to the administration as proof of their claim that the government is out to disqualify the VP and other candidates who have disagreed with government policies . The administration said the government should take steps to diffuse the current controversy surrounding its decision to release the list because of the wider implications for the April polls. "The timing of the report is suspect especially since the EFCC has the power to take these citizens to court if it has evidence of any wrong doing," the administration stated. Meanwhile, the European Union has also called for "proper investigation by an independent lawful agency" to the allegations of graft against some opposition candidates. It said Nigerian officials should have given all those allegedly implicated a chance to defend themselves before making the list a public document. Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu has continued to accuse president Olusegun Obasanjo of arm twisting the EFCC into releasing the list, despite contrary evidence that most of those mentioned are innocent. "Some of the Progressive Peoples Alliance candidates on the list have no connection with any government having lived abroad for several years. How can they be accused of corruption?" he asked. Action Congress candidate and former Anambra State governor, Dr. Chris Ngige dismissed the report as a "predictable attempt at blackmailing those who are determined to liberate our people". He said efforts to get him out of the race would fail as he is determined to ensure PDP candidate Andy Uba does not occupy the Awka Government House. |
I feel you. |
@AFAM I don't have that information. It will be unfair for me to speculate on things that aren't crystal clear to me. Since you and your friends are totally against IBB, probably you will be a perfect one to answer such question. Sorry, my man. |
@AFAM: Why do you keep getting things wrong. I've never called IBB a saint; infact one of my common statements regarding IBB is "give him a chance to redeem himself" REDEEM: is also to save from a state of sinfulness and restore the honor, worth, or reputation. People usually don't use this term unless they know for a fact that something wrong was done in the past. Trust me, my man, I stand by my belief like a man. There is absolutely no reason for me to flipflop, it's not my style. At this point in time in Nigeria, I still believe that we have a better chance with IBB as the next president. He's the only one that is sincerely desperate to make things right and can not afford to fail this time around. |
Message from United States for OBJ: Stop Bickering, U.S. Tells Obasanjo, Atiku Washington is thoroughly fed up with the bickering in Aso Rock, which it sees as "an unnecessary distraction in the face of serious problems facing the Nigeria." The White House has told President Olusegun Obasanjo to mend fences with his Deputy, Atiku Abubakar, so the country can focus on the elections. The latest American involvement came via a letter by the State Department, whose officials said it became necessary due to reports by intelligence agencies that the quarrel affects governance and preparations for the polls. "With just a few months to a truly vital election that could well determine the fate of the sub-region and possibly continent, the administration feels now is not the time for a divided Presidency" an American official stated. Washington had earlier delivered to Aso Rock a letter of "concern" by Under Secretary of State for Africa Affairs, Jendayi Frazier. The decision to send such a high level diplomat is to "impress on the Nigerian authorities how important it is to get it right and to allow the opposition opportunities to contest freely in the elections. "Robust opposition is the hallmark of a vibrant democracy and we are not encouraged by reports emerging from Nigeria," administration sources said. The White House had left a more direct interest in the elections to State Department and intelligence officials, who issued periodic assessments. That was until Atiku visited the United States, where he briefed government officials and the influential Council on Foreign Relations, most of whose members have close ties with the White House. "Members of the council advised President George Bush to demand some answers from the Nigerian leader in view of the allegations made by his deputy," the officials said. |
why now? It is only reasonable to allow people to defend themselves when they are being accused of anything, but how can these 135 names prove themselves as being innocent when the election is around the corner? Are they going to have enough time? Was this list released at this time intentional to prevent OBJ's enemies from contesting? What is the main purpose of this list? Is it honestly for the benefit of Nigeria as a nation or for the accomplishment of OBJ's personal agenda? Is this a complete list or just a hand written names by OBJ? In a democracy world; personally, I truly believe that list like this should have been released a year or two ago. This will give listed individual time and opportunity to come out and defend self and still have enough time to contest if not proven guilty of any charges. |
If you pay attention you will realize that all questions have been answered, there is no need to continue to rehash. This topic is dead. |
Eventhough OBJ is not contesting for any political position after his term as the president of Nigeria, however his name should have been the first on this list. This is why one hesitates to give kudos to EFCC. If Mr. Superman (RIBADU) is so credible and so smart, he wouldn't have released an incomplete list at this time. These people are so sloppy, untrained and unprofessional. It is also clear that EFCC intention is sincere, but as long as OBJ is in control, this organization will continue to struggle and their main objectives can not and will not be accomplished. I'm not trying to justify whether the list is correct or incorrect, but it is obvious that this is an incomplete list. Here we go against with half job well done! |
OK, I could just feel the scent; it smells funky, folks are warming up to turn this arena into a market place as usual. Well, you guys are totally free to believe whatever makes you happy. I've said it all and Frenchman has also put it down; anything else will be totally uncivilized This topic is dead in my book, therefore folks, enjoy! |
Dude, This is why I can't take you. The man did not get rich over night. I've listed some of his early investments/ businesses. What else do you want? Do you want me to say he was also a policeman? Adenuga has been a wealthy man before you were born. Just because you discovered him yesterday doesn't mean he got rich over night. Believe me, this man is an invaluable asset to Nigeria. @FRENCHMAN: you did it again, my man. Bravo, bravo; I love the way you once again put it down. Stay cool, my man. |
It is shocking, sicken and unbelievable to see the content of the list. It is totally disgusting and we truly have a long way ahead of us. |
@MAMAJAMA: I'm scheduled to be in CHITOWN middle of this month. Are we still friends? |
@AFAM: That is totally incorrect. I have nothing, but respect for OBJ; even though I'm against some of his policies, but the man is still our president and I'm not sure if we all have any other choice but to respect him. And believe me, he has done many wonderful things and I've given him KUDOS several times; infact, I was 100% OBJ fan till the 3rd term issue erupted. Believe me, my man, I want nothing but the best for our lovely nation and I love this country to the bone. Yes, I do get very sensitive sometimes, but that's me. I do not know how to be anything else. Respect to all and may God bless sweet Nigeria. |
@MAMAJAMA: CORRECTION: I said currently Nigeria as a nation is very fragile and not united. Hence at this time we do not need a boy scout, we need an undaunted, well respected, strong and experienced leader, who can unite the nation and at the same time withstand the pressure under any circumstances. I also stated that our problems are much bigger than IBB; the corrupt culture and system need to be adjusted, and then may be we can get somewhere. IBB is desperate to redeem himself, he's determined to correct things and can not afford to do wrong this time; therefore he deserves another chance. And I truly believe that we have a better chance with him And please keep in mind that this is nothing, but a mere recommendation; and of course, I may be wrong. So, my man, please don't get things twisted. Trust me, I do not deal or get involved with issues that are not credible and substantial. |
Dude: I'm not here to justify anybody's story. I've given you what I have and what I know, it is now up to you, my man. This is democracy, you're free to run away as usual with whatever makes you happy, but stop running your mouth about things you truly do not understand. Believe me, it is obvious that you do not know or understand most of the things you tend to get yourself involved or attached to; may be it will be advisable and better for you to just spend more time reading discussion on this forum. This is a forum, an environment to share and discuss credible issues; it isn't a beer parlor, my friend. |
Firstly, McDoe thanks for your intellectual insight on this topic. It feels good to know that we still have people that think broadly. Secondly, MAMAJAMA, what exactly are you asking me? It is very common for millionaires to meet; what is the big deal? And stop comparing apple to orange. Finally, Afam, I hope I've answered all your questions. And believe me, it isn't about IBB or anybody; I just hate when Nigerians start talking rubbish without deeply thinking. They hear baseless info and they run away with it. It isn't right. |
MAMAJAMA: Please, go catch some Zzz, you sound confused and very tired. |
Continuation: As a smart businessman, one of your best friends must always be the president; this is a known fact all over the world. Yes, IBB was his friend, infact OBJ was one of his close friends as well. I believe both of them are from Ogun State. The pot broke when he refused to support 3rd term. According to reliable source, OBJ even gave him choices, but he refused to submit; unlike the rest. And please, MAMAJAMA, don't you let me start naming folks, because you truly know what time is it, or do I need to remind you? |
I will never run away; definitely not from you, MAMAJAMA; and I'm sure you know better. Since you wouldn't stop crying, here is some fact for you. During the 80's/90's (do not quote me, because some of this info may be incorrect, but I will try my best as usual): He was one of the distributors of tomato paste during those days He sold imported wine He was also a distributor for different types of beverages He was a car dealer for few years He was a contractor for many projects He sold different types of imported African (clothing) materials During this period, he also developed a company called (**********), which specialized in manufacturering and installing different types of building materials The man did it all just like his ancestors; infact, his parents were also extremely successful during their time. It is a shame, sad and uncivilized to continue to tarnish the images of great Nigerians just because of political differences and irrational reasons. FYI @MAMAJAMA: the radio sale was from the very, very beginning; and don't get it twisted, he was also a cab driver when he was in college and it was by choice. Furthermore, keep in mind that you don't have to be a policeman "venality" (just like some dead heads you and I know) to make it as a man or as a successful businessman in Nigeria; no disrespect. Moreover, Nigeria is gradually being bought by foreigners and we can easily speed up this process if we continue to disrespect incredible people like Adenuga. |
