FYI: there is a low down from Abuja, that the man might be arrested very soon. |
This is why we do not need boys scout to rule this country. We need a true leader, who can deal with these old thugs properly. I still think we need a neutral body to monitor or to assist us during this coming election. |
A true leader doesn't quit. |
I believe part of the story is on this web site. |
What kind of mess is this? Can Nigerians and Nigeria as a country handle the coming election alone? |
You guys totally got it wrong as usual |
@NDIPE and MAMAJAMA: Nobody is criticizing OPRAH; get familiar with the subject |
@MAMAJAMA: I believe the total number of the students are around 157. Even if the number is 500 as you've stated, I still do not think the concept of the idea is effective. MAMAJAMA, how many schools and how many under-privileged kids do you have in your village? |
Guys, you just never know. Currently, Americans are desperate and very scared. Believe me, if a black man will ever be an American president at-all, this is the time. These folks are open to changes. FYI: Have you noticed that Obama is so smart and has never mentioned the word "BLACK" during any of his speeches? I think he can do it as long as Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson and Farrakhan stay home. |
I truly do not blame Oprah for nothing; I blame the pin heads out there in south Africa. When these folks see money, they usually can't think properly just like their cousins in Nigeria. Oprah is a visitor, she can only do what is recommended or presented to her |
A true leader doesn't quit! It's a lesson for all. Don't you let anyone stop you or tell you "you can't do it" I admire the man for his boldness. |
What do you expect? OBJ wouldn't allow the man to breath in Nigeria. I don't expect him to just sit down and do nothing. This is politics, you do what ever it takes to be known or to send out your message. Leave the man alone; let him exercise his right. This is democracy. |
@loverBwoy: Even if the 125 students are from the poorest families in South Africa, I still think the move is an ineffective one. The money could have been used or spent systematically, which will eventually benefit a large number of kids in Africa. It is fine to be generous and it is also great to spend money effectively and efficiently. Example: A village is full of a very poor group of people (about 1000) who needs car to function or survive. There is also a beautiful queen who is well known, very kind and eager to assist these villagers with their locomotive problem. So, she decided to select 125 poorest folks out of this group. Few days later the queen surprised this selected subgroup with 125 brand new Bentley Azure (cars) for 40m dollars, while the rest of the group (975) are still poor as ever and still need cars to survive. Don't you think it would have been much better (effective and efficient) to buy all of them 1000 Toyota Corolla (cars) for less than 40m dollars? Think about it. |
As we all know, towards the end of last year it was confirmed that Oprah Winfield spent 40m Dollars to build a school in South Africa for a-little bit over 100 students. I love and admire Oprah, no doubt about it; I truly appreciate her style, generosity and sincerity, but is this 40m dollars school for just about 125 students in South Africa an effective move or contribution towards developing Africa? Moreover, I'm very sure that 90% of these students are from elite families; which means at the end of the day the gift from Ms Winfield will not reach the appropriate group of children, that honestly needs it. Looking at it from my point of view, I think 40m dollars could produce up to 50 schools effectively for over 5,000 students in Africa. I truly do not see how a 40m dollars school for just 125 students could make a major impact in Africa, where schools are unavailable to more than 1million kids. What do you think? Please feel free to school me if I'm wrong. |
Yes, it makes no sense for number one man and number two man not to be on the same party; but it is important to know and to understand that Atiku did not step down as a member of PDP party; in order to prevent him from attaining his ambition, he was expelled. He only became another party's member because he did not have any other choice. And folks, please do not state that OBJ's action against ATIKU is for the sake of Nigeria as a country; because this assumption is very far from the factual intention of Mr. president. What would you do if you're wearing Atiku's shoes? |
Praise God, 53 suitcase propaganda has nothing to do with IBB. MAMAJAMA and the rest, I'm sure you're dissappointed. |
@stanech: Don't be too sure. Obj's and you folks' (haters) action against Atiku might back fire. We shall see. |
OBJ continues to make Atiku to look like a champion, through his uncaged vindictive action. VP is scheduled to return back to the country today (around midday), and it is confirmed that he will be escorted by Buhari and other few close associates who met him in London yesterday. It has also been confirmed that many other big wigs are currently in Abuja to receive him back to the country (among the bigshots are Alhaji Abubakar Rimi, Lawa Kaita, Chief Solomon Lar, Chief Audu Ogbeh, Governor Boni Haruna, Yahaya Kwande, Alhaji Takala etc). On the other hand, Obj continues to look like a coward and a loser. The VP was out of the country for over a month and Mr. President still couldn't get rid of him. I wonder why! It is fun to continue to witness how low OBJ could go and how unfocused our number one man has been lately; I'm pretty sure that we haven't seen the lowest point as yet. Let's wait and see. |
I really don't know too much about Atiku, but I must give him credit for being bold enough to stand up against OBJ. You've got to know OBJ to truly understand what Atiku is up against. If Atiku is able to survive OBJ's unbearable vindictiveness action, I think he deserves a chance for the position. What most people do not understand: Atiku is still around today not because of his good looks or his financial stamina, but because of his loyal friends and associates, who truly love and respect the man. Do you guys know what it takes to have reliable loyal folks around you, who are determined to back you till the end of time (especially against OBJ)? Do you guys think OBJ's folks are truly loyal to him? How come America discovered Saddam Husein ( with all his wealth and connections) less than a year and they still can't find Osama? It's called loyalty or faithfulness. As I've mentioned earlier, I do not know Atiku that well, but I can guarantee you that Atiku will never use you, he will never stab you in the back, he's a man that embraces integrity, he's honest, he's a smart business man and he's a great friend to have on your side; but he's not perfect just like you and me. (and the rest of Nigerian politicians). FYI:Atiku is not going anywhere; watch out folks, you just never know, the name of our next President may starts with letter "A". Of course, only if IBB says OK! |
@McKren: A round of applause for your outstanding comment, I am truly touched. Where have you been? Who is DumDum? DumDum is dead. Hey, enjoy the weekend. |
Very interesting and galvanizing. |
@McKren No disrespect, regardless of our political views, we remain brothers. One love! |
@McKren Just simmer down, give it some time. It will all come out soon. Keep in mind that I do not associate myself with baseless affairs and I definitely do not shoot blank like my little friend. The current administration is very dirty, unprofessional, greedy and sloppy in every way. I know something for a fact, we are not going to allow Nigeria, our lovely nation to be operated like OTA farm. FYI: Even, Mr EFCC is sick and tired of OBJ, at this point he doesn't know what to do with man. |
@McKren As much as I'm holding back and trying my best not to call you dumdum, you're driving me crazy. You've got to be kidding me? Are you that empty? No disrespect, I will recommend to change your name to DUMDUM, this way folks will know in advance not to expect much when you post your comments. Posted By DUMDUM aka McKren (otherwise tell me the relationship between Oyo crisis and National elections)Isn't Ibadan part of Nigeria? Do you think Ladoja, Akala and Adedibu are fighting over the governorship of Accra or Lome? Dude, what is wrong with you? |
@McKren: In-fact, this topic is dead. Good luck. |
Why do you continue to force what is there? It is clearly obvious, dude you can't handle this topic; believe me, you're better-off quiting and just stick to reading comments on this forum. You will never see my points 'because you need time to develop. Posted by McKren The so called foreigners you think Nigerians will worship are being kidnapped on daily basis in Niger-Delta in exchange for money so tell me how their presence will change anything.By the way, do you understand the different between oil workers that are being kidnapped and the representative from united states? You clearly do not have material and this is why you continue to mix things up. Regarding IBB: I will disregard your comment and focus on this topic. |
@4Play: Believe me, their presence will limit the violence. An empty parked police car on the highway usually slows down the traffic and encourages driver to think twice before disobeying traffic law. It's the same logic. It is better than nothing. Nigerians and Nigeria as a nation are not ready to monitor and coordinate this election alone. May be next one (2011), but definitely, not this coming one |
@AFAM: You don't have to believe anything. It is out there, some people could clearly see it and some are still sleeping, while the rest a just totally blind. |
@4Play: Rigging is not the only issue at hand that we need to question, we also need to pay attention to security of the citizens and the future of our nation. The country is currently very fragile and not united. The evil folks are waiting for any excuse or opportunity to deflate the raft. Do we really want this? what happens to being proactive? do we really think the current administration cares or is totally focused? The presence of a neutral body will limit or dishearten the mission of the evil folks. That's all. No need to beat around the bush, it is what it is; Nigerians and Nigeria as a nation can not handle the coming presidential election alone. It is clear and simple. And a good example is what continues to occur in Ibadan every single day. It is definitely not normal and it will get worst as soon as May 29th gets closer. And believe me, casualties will not be the politicians or their families. Think about it. |
Dude, 98% of the time, I do not get my info through Nigerian news paper or any other media source. Double check my record, I do not get involved with baseless affairs. |
@McKren: There is no need to waste more time; return back to me when you're fully and politically developed. Later. |
@McKren: First, I'm not one of Atiku's supporters, trust me. My comments or insight on this matter is purely sincere and that is what you people refuse to understand. I view things from a different angle, I just don't follow. Second, you still don't get it; this is much more than Atiku, it's about innocent Nigerians who might be the election casualties and the future of our lovely nation. And finally, It is obvious that you have no tool what so ever to finish what you've started. You should stick to reading comments on this forum, instead of wasting people's time talking about things you truly don't understand. There is nothing worst than discussing a serious matter with a blank shooter who needs time to develop. No disrespect! |
