Zoning agreement became alive only to give Igbos equal opportunity to lead this nation.

It isn't in Uncle Goodluck's nature to lead or to make touch decisions.

Uncle Goodluck as our president will be like pushing a  pickup truck that has no battery, but full of people with high expectations.

Uncle Jonathan has been our president for over 6 months and he hasn't made a single decision of his own.

Nigeria at this point needs iron hand, a tough entity that isn't scared to pull the trigger at anytime, an entity that completely understands our system/ our people/ our country, an entity that has stamina and experience.

Again, we can not afford to waste anymore time, Nigeria deserves a real leader to take over in 2011.

I have just one question to ask General Babangida:

"So General Babangida, how does your regime intend to tackle corruption in the country?"

I will be VERY interested to hear his response.

This is a great question, and from what I know, I will try to predict an answer.


The past will be past. IBB will bring new beginning, new strategies, new concepts, new ideas and fresh young talent to bring this nation back to the top.

My prediction to your question is, our constitution will be revised, and capital punishment for all convicted corrupt citizens will be added.
IBB will absolutely introduce capital punishment as soon as he's elected as our new president, please mark it down.

Nigeria needs iron hand, a tough entity and a complete leader, who listens attentively, who has enormous experience, who isn't afraid to make any tough decisions and who has too much to lose if things are not done accordingly.
We must forget sentiment and look forward to attaining all our goals effectively and efficiently.

I still don't see any other candidate in this country that will attack corruption head on and make big things happen quickly like our one and only IBB.

Let us stop day dreaming, Uncle Jonathan can not make anything happen, leading or making tough decisions isn't his nature. He has no clue and doesn't really know where exactly to begin. He will be pushed around by the obvious for the next 8 years like a pickup truck that has no battery.

If you honestly understand our system, our leaders, politics, our people and this country, you'll understand why it is extremely important for IBB to be back asap and set up a solid foundation for the youth to carry on. This is why his running mate will be the key and the message that will be understood by most of us, please mark it down

No IBB, It will be the same old story and we will be forever in darkness.

Saving Nigeria is a very deep statement.
This isn't exaggeration, but uncle Goodluck hasn't made a single decision of his own ever since he became our mighty leader. He doesn't have the capability to lead this country, this is one of the reasons why it is taking this dude 20 years to make it known publicly whether he's contesting or not.

Saving Nigeria is deeper than what you think.

In short, zoning agreement is arranged for the Igbos.
But now that Goodluck is the president, the Igbos think Zoning agreement is no longer necessary. Anyone that can see beyond today understands the importance of zoning agreement in Nigeria.

Believe it or not, at this point IBB is the only person that has the capability to save this country, and I'm certain that he will accomplish this goal.

It would have made more sense for haters to jubilate if this had taken place in Kano or Sokoto.
If IBB could get just 25 percent of the entire Oyo state Votes (which I'm sure that he'll get) I think he will be sitting pretty.
He doesn't want more than that, therefore it is ok to say the rally flops. You may not see it or understand it at this time, but IBB has already accomplished his goal in Ibadan.

Furthermore, you may not know about this, but apart from the the few noise makers, IBB's suppoters came out heavily to support their man. Traffic from Ibadan to Lagos was unbelievable and the airport road was also blocked. So, my friends just calm down and allow time to tell. IBB is in it to win it.

I wonder what would happen in the north when Goodluck does show up to campaign?

IBB wasn't going to show up anyway; everything went the way it was planned. IBB is still the smartest politician around today in Nigeria.

You can not be slow or dull and call yourself a politician. As a great politician, you must use whatever it takes to bring home the crown; I love politics.

The strategy here is called "It's them against us". This is a sensible strategy in a country where majority carries the vote. The way it looks majority in Nigeria are still the northerners; IBB will be sitting pretty if he's able to get 85% of northerners' votes.
The game has just started, let's see how the game is played.

What is the big deal?
A real politician does what ever it takes to win an election. Yes, IBB camp may have tried to pull Daboh to their camp, and obviously, the attempt was not successful. But Daboh shouldn't have commented on what went down; he should have allowed his action to speak for him.

He claimed that Kure once awarded him a contract when he was governor of Niger State and he respects him a lot, he also stated that IBB has been so nice to him; IBB gives him money to go for overseas medical treatment.
From these statements, it is completely obvious that there is a very close connection between IBB and Daboh; and now for him to attempt to call out IBB just like that is very low and absolutely uncivilized.

We shall all see how far Daboh is willing to go; you just don't bite the hand that feeds you.

My question for Daboh is: how did he get the 77 hectares of land in Abuja?
It will also be nice if Daboh could present the details of the contract that was awarded to him in Niger State.

First, wake up quickly, IBB is not spending kobo from his pocket for his 2011 presidential campaign.
Second, it is obvious that you have never experienced the presence of IBB, FYI: IBB rolls in style. You don't want to know how many real northern godogodo men that roll with IBB. You will have to first kidnap Obama before you will be able to kidnap IBB, trust me.
Finally, where exactly do you expect IBB to flag off his campaign? Shaki or Ile Ife?

The man is not a fool, Ibadan/ Adedibu's boys are known to favor northerners for the past 30 years. In fact, OBJ during his campaign was able to capture Ibadan only because of the heavy support he got from the North (Thanks to IBB).
Therefore, if there is any spot to hit, Ibadan remains the best spot to target the support from the Yoruba folks.

Our only problem in Nigeria is corruption from the top to the bottom. I have absolute confidence that everything will automatically falls into place as soon as corruption is eradicated.

Therefore, the first thing I will change as Nigerian president will be our constitution: As of October 1 2010, Publicly killing every convicted corrupt government official will immediately be added to our constitution.

You can invest in Education, Electricity and Infrastructure, if effective strategy to eradicate corruption in Nigeria is not in place, absolutely nothing else will be done correctly. We will just be going in circle for the rest of our lives,  poverty will linger in Nigeria till the end of time, while our lovely country will also remain underdeveloped for the next 50,000 years.

I can assure you that corruption will completely disappear in Nigeria as soon as 2 or 3 convicted government officials are publicly executed, in their various hometowns will be preferable

Self styled former Military President, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, rtd, is determined to contest the 2011 presidential polls. And unlike what happened in 2007 when he threw in the towel, at the last minute, he is ready to go the whole hog this time, his supporters have said.

IBB's best chance

According to them, 2011 might be Babangida's last chance of returning to Aso Rock, giving his age. He was born on August 17, 1941. So in 2011, he will be 70. If he fails to run in 2011, he might be too old for the contest in 2015 when he will be 74.

Babangida's finest chance to go for plum job is now, said Chief Chuba Egolum, Director-General/Chairman, IBB 2011 Presidential Campaign Ndigbo Lagos chapter.

The politician said the Minna-born general had made up his mind on the contest. "If a man of his status says he is running, it will be irresponsible and foolhardy for anyone to say otherwise because he came out on his own volition without prompting from anybody."

Egolum continued: "This (2011) is his best chance and optimum time to come out and have history.

Why he quit in 2007

He quit the race in 2007 saying that he could not contest against late President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, whom he considered as a younger brother. However, his close aides told Saturday Vanguard that IBB, as he is also known, dropped the ambition to avoid confronting former President

"IBB stopped running in 2007 because what we had was a clear case of a dictator in the name of democracy. Obasanjo used all state machinery to coerce whomever dared to try his ego or power. Obasanjo arrested Babangida's son. He declared the 2007 election a do-or-die affair. IBB is not a do-or-die person. So, as a gentleman, he looked for a way to soft-pedal to avoid bloodshed. He has loyalists that can fight for him all over the country but he does not believe in the do-or-die approach," said Mazi Vitalis Okemadu, one of his supporters.

Push for Aso Rock

To realise his ambition, Babangida has embarked on intense consultations with stakeholders. His foot soldiers have fanned out, mobilising the grassroots. They have also flooded some of the major cities with his posters. An avalanche of groups backing him, have also emerged.

Jostle for PDP ticket

However, much will depend on how the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP hierarchy hammer out the issue of zoning. Going by the party's unwritten but current zoning arrangement, the presidency is zoned to the North. It is on account of this that President Goodluck Jonathan is in power following the demise of President Yar'Adua, he deputised for.

Now, the PDP seems to be in a dilemma over zoning with a section of the party asking Jonathan to run in 2011 and another section saying otherwise. Series of meetings to iron out the issue in recent times have not yielded dividends. If the party hands Jonathan its presidential ticket, then the prevailing zoning arrangement will be aborted.

IBB's plan B

And if Jonathan gets the ticket, sources said Babangida might opt for an opposition platform, a coalition of opposition political parties, with his running mate coming from the South_East or South_South geo_political zone.

The retired general is also reaching out to the Southwest. He specifically wants to win the heart of the 'core' West. Of recent, Babangida has been stressing the need to restructure the polity and ensure true federalism, which are cardinal viewpoints of the Southwest.

Mixed reactions trail Babangida's ambition

Babangida's aspiration has won supporters and opponents, in almost equal measure, across the country. Those opposing IBB said he should be shut out for annulling the freest and fairest election ever held in the country - the June 12, 1993 presidential polls won by late politician, Chief MKO Abiola.

Other issues against IBB, according to them, include squandering N40 billion on the Third Republic transition programme and inability to account for the $12.5 billion Gulf war oil windfall among others. His opponents, mainly prodemocracy activists have held press conferences and rallies to abort his ambition.

However, Babangida is not without supporters. One of the numerous groups backing him is the Association of Patriotic Nigerians, APN.

Leaders of the group recently addressed the press in Lagos, to drum support for IBB.

APN National Chairman, Mr. Vitalis Okemadu, urged the electorate not to shut out any aspirant from the 2011 polls. He canvassed that competence and ability to deliver should form the basis for the election of the next president and not necessarily zoning.

He enumerated Babangida's achievements while in power and stated that the former leader ought to be given a second chance.

On June 12 election, he said Babangida had accepted he made mistakes and had been making efforts to correct them since 1999 when he contributed to the emergence of Obasanjo as president. And on the $12.5 billion Gulf war windfall, Okemadu said the government knew that the money was not missing otherwise they would have gone after Babangida.

Although the 2011 election is a couple of months away, it is still early to tell where the pendulum would swing. Whether or not Babangida will realise his ambition is a question of time.
