mendes911: Very silly people. I once tried to take a loan and I was told that my credit history doesnt tally. That I had not used any credit (credit card) for the past 1 year, hence I can't get the loan. This is meant to be a positive impact (layman opinion), that I don't depend on credit. Capitalist Economies will always expect you to owe and that's a policy I don't get to understand. will not work in this clime ooo. As my broker explained to me 20ish yrs ago. if you have never borrowed and paid back in full and on time, how do any new lender develop a trust relationship with you? |

Mpeace: In my personal opinion, I think there is a special reason why Access bank result is not yet out. Maybe because its too bad or because its too good, but its definitely not for the reason they gave us that its due to post merger bla bla bla. Result that had already been audited and presented to the board for approval since July and subsequently presented to CBN for approval. They should come with another story joor. I just hope the delay is because the result is too good for this bear market, cos I dey heavy for there. Na the biggest part if my portfolio. Maybe CBN rejected it because it was not properly cooked |

I have always had eDiv in place for AIICO, RedStarex etc with USL for more than 10yrs but till date they want me to come to Nigeria and fill out some form before they pay my Diamond bank consideration. I also had 10yr+ eDiv setup with Centurion (diamond) before the merger! What is the complication in paying under this scenario? Ndi oshi, ndi oshi! |

Chibuking81: But people jumping in are doing so because of capital appreciation the news will bring, or the payment they will get from Olam if the deal go through, not because the like Olam, nor neither do they feel that Olam will do well. But we must always remember that it's 50/50 chance it might favor or fail.
There might be something they are looking that Dangote might not be willing to release or he might release. But a buyer can also change his mind at the dying minutes, he might buy or might not buy. That's why it's 50/50 game. If you read the press release, it did say it was a binding agreement pending all requisite approvals |

When BUHARI use VETO power to steal ATIKU MANDATE. I told investors to watch that space and trade the market with a PESSIMISTIC MINDSET for the next 4yrs.
BUBU with a 2nd term MANDATE got nothing else to lose or campaign for again. Aside quietly retiring to DAURA in 2023.
He's now fulfilled and ready to join his ancestors so if ECONOMY like let it slide into DOUBLE RECCESSION that's the least of his PROBLEM.

MTN? Not a chance!
As a dividend hunter, how is MTN better than GTB, Zenith, UBA et al? Then again school fees must be paid somehow.
To the guy talking about foreign loan, my advice to you is to be well counselled. In 2007, I took advantage (at least I thought I was) of the dirt cheap credits available here (quite a few 0% rates available at the time). The exchange rate at the time was £1~=N200ish. We know where we are today and the rest they say is history.
Bottom line - not for the faint hearted! |

onegentleguy: Yes DIAMOND is the crux of the matter this time, NOT ACCESS. The name of the said form is DIAMOND BANK SHAREHOLDER UPDATE FORM. ...and u'll find it when u click on the 'downloads' tab at their official website(www.unitedsecuritieslimited.com) I just downloaded mine now !! It's a different form to that of the normal e-mandate form from united securities. This particular form was designed specifically for the sole purpose of settling the N1 cash consideration to the eligible DIAMOND bank shareholders and nothing more.
NOTE: That of shareholder mandate form(which is the one @ Yayira had put up), is the usual e-dividend mandate form u know. I presume u'll only need to fill that one for the 25k FY 2018 dividend thats also payable to the qualified shareholders of DIAMOND bank. ...but that would be if u don't have an alraedy existing e-mandate with united securities.
Hope its clearer now. I guess this whole exercise is for guys who don't already have eDiv mandate for defunct diamond bank. Otherwise, why can they import it straight from Centurion registrars? |

Chibuking81: Some will sell Zenith bank at 22.70 and will want to see it go down to 18, only to be disappointed in seeing it heading to #30. I have followed Zenith bank movement for some years now, the stock usually move up after their markdown, when the fearful ones has exited.
2.50 for ten years is #25, meaning in ten year with annual payment of dividend and interim, ones holding in Zenith will seen to be free, because the dividend alone will return more than initial invested capital. Wrong! Are you telling them that today's #25 will have the same value 10yrs on? Whatever happened to the time value of money. This is my opinion though. |
