excerpt:

The November ruling implies the “coast is clear for enforcement of the judgment of 2010,” said Lucius Nwosu, one of the community’s lawyers.

“First Bank will not honour their guarantee because they, at their own peril, failed to get a cash backing from Shell before they issued the guarantee,” he added.

Once bitten, etc cheesy

You probably still didn't gain from the sale. So you would have waited more. But I understand selling as it has stayed at 20k for long.

not by any chance, it wasn't a dividend paying stock so the N45-50K (after all buy/sell commissions) has been eroded by inflation! (time value of money in view)
in 2009 when i did the IPO, I changed £1 to ~N200.
Do the maths!

I don't normally quote figures, but this is to put things into context and sound a note of warning to newbies
Do not get carried away!

had been in my portfolio for the past past 11yrs (last purchase Nov 2011).
It is not a stock I would have purchased based if i had known what i know now.
It can go on and do another 500% from here (I couldn't give a rats ass). I rather buy UGAZ at current prices
1 dead wood down, a few more to go

The only stock I have in that list is Dunlop and I was able to sell half of the stock at around N4.00

When you send money back home and give a carte blanche to your broker. Investing in NSE cannot be an arms length biz.
A lot turned good though.

Whats the percentage of people who invested in 2008 that are still trading in the Nigerian market?

Most are dead and incapacitated. Thats why Unclaimed dividend is climbing

You buy Zenith at 45, FCMB at 15, Oando at 300

and watched them drop to their current prices

and you are still alive

story

I am still here sir. As dumb as i was then, i seperated chop money from NSE money.

I would have broken even 5 yrs ago if i took profit as and when due! You know how many time i have watched a few stock in my portfolio turn 40+% only to return to -ve after the cycle.

The opportunity cost of the events of 2006-2009 plenty shaaa

I survived 2008! There have been big wins since anyway. I am about to recover from Japaul, Lasaco, (NEM has turned good profit, thanks to averaging down)

Others still very red are Omatek, Multiverse, Resort, Chams, (Bigtreat ) , Dunlop, Staco, IEI, Transcorp etc

Imagine holding Japaul at the days high when the full offer starts and it goes ahead to lose 600% of your money.

Lets do the maths. You invest 10m in Japaul and immediately after, the full offer starts. then you lose 600%.

The value of your portfolio will become N1.67m

And you will hold it for ages. Till thy kingdom come

Dont forget Japaul's deal in the past with Milost in 2018 that crashed. This is the enhanced version

mathematically impossible unless you position turns -ve!

Japaul do do me shege.
I have been carrying 280K units @ #1.3 for more than 11yrs (last tranch bought at 65K on 15/11/2011 all in the name of averaging down)

same story with MBenefit, was carrying 130k @#1.3 fore more than 10 yrs. late last year, i noticed an unusual bid volume. So i dived in and bought a 7 figure quantity that avegred me down to 22.5k

Maybe some school fees does get refunded grin grin grin

Dead bones do rise afterall (Don't know about Staco, UNIC, IEI etc) Yes, i have them all. I was a money-miss-road

MBENEFIT has been profitable lately. Putting on my speculative cap, new licencees? Why the surge in volume?

Anyhow, I am sitting pretty.

these guys are making profit lately. If they don't recapitalise as stipulated by NAICOM, my guess is that any company acquiring (?meging) them would pay a very good premium on the 20k(ish) it has been trading in the last year or so.

I don't quite have the volume I need. I wanted 1m units. I picked up a few at the #3.2 levels, hoping it would come down to the #3 or lower to complete mh target. Some people just jack up the price like play like play.
I picked up a few at #5.1 today, am very reluctant to raise my average above #4.

However, following the Federal Government’s announcement of a public holiday on the said
December 28, 2020, we are pleased to inform the shareholders that the qualification dates for
both bonuses are now being moved to the next working date being December 29, 2020 i.e. from
28 December 2020 to 29 December 2020.

I think one has to be very careful when dealing with AIICO shares.. The listed shares outstanding as at today is 20,673,265,406 units. As at Q3, the outstanding shares in the unaudited financial statements was 11,330,202,920 units. How this has grown to 20,673,265,406 units as at today is beyond me. Please note that the 2 bonuses of 1 for 8 and 1 for 5 is even yet to be effected. Please deal with the shares of the company with a lot of caution.

As at 2019 audited result

- O/S 11,330,204,480 (a)
- Rights issue based on 5 for 13 added 4,357,770,954 (b)
- 2020 YE 1 for 5 bonus issue (increase (a) by a factor of 1.2)
- 2020 Recapitalisation 1 for 5 bonus issue (increase (a) by a factor of 1.2)

(a*1.2*1.2) + b
(11,330,204,480*1.44) + 4,357,770,954
=20,673,265,405

However, the premise above has been superceded by the latest adjustment to the corporate actions. The bonuses were adjusted to 1 for 8 & 1 for 5, and the bonuses would apply to the rights as well.

Therefore, I believe the O/S will eventually be adjusted to
(11,330,204,480+4,357,770,954) *1.125*1.2
=21,178,766,835

From the above, it appears that the second bonus has been listed. However, I cannot recall any price adjustment for this.
