I always pay attention to preexisting economic environment to have an idea of the direction of the market. Though movement in individual stocks can always happen whether during the Bull or Bear season.

Positive Factors in the Market
1. Low interest rate in fixed income securities: this should have kept the market on a longer bullish run but it seems this factor has already been priced in.
2. Rise in the price of Crude Oil: The rise has been marginal with no immediate positive impact on the local economy.

Negative Factors in the Market
1. Consistent Devaluation of the Naira and the FPI: When you keep devaluing your currency foreign investors will prefer to wait till normalcy is restored.

Feel free to add yours. Based on these few points there is more probability of the market staying stagnant or declining, than having a meteoric rise in the next few weeks.

In Engineering, we would say that the entropy (measure of disorder in a system) is tending to maximum

Please has cement price been increased officially or iis it other factors that has caused the change in price? I am trying to relate the present retail price to what thr yr end result could look like. Some of my investment decision is based on what I see on the street and it has never failed me .Dangota sugar was a typical example. Some of this companies we buy thr shares .when you see the demand for their products and services you will vow never to have anything to do with. them You will equally be imagining whr the auditors are manufacturing the positive results from. You will realize some are dead on ground but alive on paper work

Morgan capital trading platform is very terrible. Not good for a newbie. I use them only to play around stocks.

Works very well for me. Maybe 'cos I use lap/desk and a very fast Internet connectivity. Not as good on a phone though.

I've gone thru it. There's no confusion here nah?
Final Qualification date is 23rd and closure of register 30th - 4th of Dec.

Why is bigjay confused about the dates?

i bought on the 17th so I am cool.

However, if we follow the T+3 cycle, if one buys tomorrow, will their shares not completely settle by the COB on 27/11?

Yea, this was what I was told as well by a friend in the Fin Sec. He gave this as the reason GTB was so high. That why one has to be cautious cause once the forex comes in, heaven only knows what will happen to the stock afterwards.
Thanks for the details Mehn

it has been in the public domain for a while. Are these not speculation? or has any foreign investor stated so explicitly?

Don't panic yet, I bought GSK last week Monday in the Morning 6.95, it drop to 6.4 same day. Then on Tuesday it started rising in the Morning hoping to that it will drop in the afternoon just like how it happen on Monday it did not drop and it was on full gear till Friday.

Unfortunately I set buy order at 6.85 and 6.7 on Friday, before I login this morning the order has been filled, my average price is 6.56.

Let wait and see how Market behave this week, anyway I will sell some this week when the price reach 7.2 that will give me at least 7 - 8% profit and my average price will go down to 6.26.

For those who missed out on recent opportunities but who are seeking for one, look the way of UNILEVER !!
Based on the coys current BS position(cash stand + earnings accretion) and adjusting for a high risk premium, there's the possibility of a near 57% ROI given its present mkt price.
Elsewhere, UACN also holds an over 61% reward potential, while JULIUS BERGER carries with it a near 45% net RR.
The probability of occurrence is already near 1 for all 3 coys.

Then again, GSK still holds a massive REWARD POTENTIAL !!

The best time to align with them? …NOW !!

CAVEAT: The need for due diligence should still take higher precedence ahead of this post.
My advise? …Pls follow ur instinct.

It is well.
