emmanuelewumi: Just confirmed from a relative that works with NAHCO, that they were paid 50% for April 2020.
I think we should prepare for a reduction in our dividends from NAHCO Not bad, provided everyone (including management) concedes something. Tough times for the industry in view of the prevailing climate. I had increased my holding last year. Anyway, i have a long term view. |

Too bad the company does not have enough reserves, the dividends shareholders ought to collect for the year 2019 is what workers and management will use for their survival in 2020 because of the pandemic. ... This is what NAHCO will most likely dish out to her shareholders for the YE Dec 2019. |

thesilentone: Bro, please do you play on the LSE or nah? With Bojo sorting things out (or maybe not), I'm considering my backyard. I registered as a Fool last year but I haven't taken any of their recommendations serious. Get it right on NSE, then it beats any LSE play pants down! The best DY on LSE is 14.69% (Evraz). However, it doesn't have a long history of dividends. On the contrary, we de do inyanga for 20% yields on NSE. The key is to avoid gambling. COVID-19 affects all, I hope you heard the news yesterday that the UK economy shrank by a record 5.8% in March. https://www.ft.com/content/64ec173c-d397-43b7-a5f9-8b511a0f5204April might be worse! |

... I love the tone of this post! very matured in my humble opinion @Rebekah, I respect you a lot! It is not enough to say someone is wrong without pointing out how (s)he is wrong. You could have at least presented a counter-narrative. My 2p comment anyway |

Mcy56: I'm sorry to say o, I don't think you're ready to be an investor in NSE. I noticed you just want all stocks you buy to keep going up once you joined the bus. NSE doesn't work this way sometimes. Try and define what you want and the type of investor you wish to be. As for the markdown date, you'll see that nobody is willing to reply you cos it's been posted here several times, even as at yesterday, I posted a reminder as well. You need to develop interest in the coys you invest in and be reading updates on them too. If your mind sell Wapco, pls go ahead and heed the call. Sell it. You bought around 12.85/90 if I remembered well, some bought at N16 and are not fidgeting like you're doing. No vex o. Na just observation. moreover, all the info is available on nse.com.ng |

leo1234: Use all the money and buy UBA/zenith bank. By this time next year, you will receive dividends close to 20% or more with capital appreciation. So in your wisdom, you expect the events of today not to have a material effect on the DY come next year? If I were you, I'd discount this year by close to 25% to have a more realistic expectation of next year. Any extra na bonus (aka jara). Hope is a dangerous ingredient when cooking in the stock market! |
