IF you look where others looked you will see what they saw.

I pray we dont look where Sodom and Gomorrah looked so we dont see what they saw. sad sad sad sad

Guy, unfortunately, this has nothing to do with Sodom and Gomorrah.
we have to debate this logically, cos this is our lives or the lives of people we love.
Politics / Re: Ekweremadu Asks Senate To Legalise Prostitution by bigsean(m): 3:20pm On Oct 06, 2011
@Kobojunkie, are u hearing yourslef, you feel the best move right now to install women's rights in Nigeria is to legalize prostitution? thats just "brain fart" if u ask me.
There are other laws that can be passed that we secure womens rights and legal prostitution is not one of them abeg.

Also, your additional tax revenue would have been slightly probable if, tax revenue was the problem with nigeria, but we know better that even the oil wind fall that is more than a enough for a population the size of Nigeria is still in abject poverty. [no accountability]
Lets get our priorities right and legalizing prostitution is so so not the way to go right now.

Quote of the day, [for this thread so far] and the day is still young.

lagerwhenindoubt:

I don't get Nigerians,
1: We have legalized Corruption
2: We have legalized Non-Accountability
3: We have legalized Bribery
4: We have legalized Police Brutality
5: We have legalized weak Education Systems
6: We have legalized traffic-violations by uniformed men
7: We have legalized wrongful-trial
8: We have legalized Software/Music Piracy
9: We have legalized killing of Children identified as witches
10: We have legalized smoking of indian-hemp /crack-cocaine by sitting and ex-governors (one who resides on bourdillion ikoyi)
11: We have legalized strip-joints, drinking and smoking in public

What da heck p.rostitution should join the boat too

Trust me bro, we haven't legalized anything compared to developed countries, were corruption (and everything else u mentioned above) has been legalized, yes, put into law to favor the rich and the corporate world. Nigeria just lets u get away with u wrong doing if u knw ur way but its not law, over here (US & UK) its law if u're in the 1% rich or are a corporation.

Prostitution being legalized in Nigeria to me is like someone taking panadol to cure diarrhea (awfully wrong prescription). Solve the real pressing issues first and see if the human traffic volume won't reduce to a tolerable minimum (i would be lying if i said, totally eradicate it).

Great picture, Just wish they had the best interest of our dear country at heart, it would have solved a lot.
Youth strength is wasting away just because our leaders lack foresight and are too greedy to do anything about it.
Why should the most deadly natural disaster in Nigeria be humans (or leaders if i must be more precise)?

@Nairaland Moderators, what did i do now? i believe i have been charming and respectful in all my posts/comments so far, why did u guys block me now?
Abeg do something about your auto anti-spam bot.
Yes we want trolls and spams bloked for the good of the forum but not at the expense of innocent, charming, respectiful (seriously i could go on grin), law abiding forum users like me grin
BTW if you haven't seen Law Abiden Citizen, great movie.

Anyway, back to the AUN discussion, so where were we cheesy

Akainzo:

OK, let me give you an analogy, until the Naira denominated Mastercard/Visa cards came into Nigeria late last year, records would show that online purchases in Nigeria was non-existent though the reality was that thousands were shopping online but they had their cards registered to US or somewhere else.

Should Mastercard now say they had only dozens of users in Nigeria, you might want to disagree due to what you see however, they would be factually correct since those cards were not Nigerian registered.

The same for internet use in Nigeria. Go to many a cybercafe and browse to "google.com", you'd notice that it does not default to the "google.com.ng" site which would indicate that it identifies you as traffic coming from Nigeria.

Once you are not directed to the Nigerian site, your traffic is being counted as being from somewhere else. Like I said with many multinationals using their home country and proxy servers, most of the traffic in Nigeria is not accounted for the nation.

Well ur master/visa card analogy is spot on, but that would mean that for AUN to boast of 55% of legit internet traffic, then nig. total traffic volume from local ISP and all ur IT technical jargons will be relatively very small compared to the real/actual internet activity going on in nigeria, if u get my drift.

I'm more inclined to this quote above.

Yea, yea, @ispeaktrut and @akainzo do have very very strong points, but those points show good reasons for google to partner with the school and not enough reason to be hyperbolic in their statement about "55% of internet traffic in Nigeria". Thats just Myopic in my opinion.
Do u have an idea the internet traffic volume in ordinary local benin city "u wan try boyz grin"

Computers / Re: Atiku's University Responsible For 55% Total Internet Traffic In Nigeria! by bigsean(m): 3:25pm On Oct 05, 2011
@Mathskill, ofcos you know that's not what he means, use ur common logic bro cheesy, or else you run the risk of sounding like the "google people" that claim AUN pulls 55% of the internet traffic, which i'm sure u dont need any proof to know thats outright false, unless the "internet traffic" means something else which i would be glad if the google spokes person or anyone in this forum can clear for us

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Tottenham Vs Arsenal (2 - 1) On 2nd October 2011 by bigsean(m): 7:34pm On Oct 02, 2011
but i called the match even before it was played, this Arsenal could never beat Spurs.
Some Arsenal fans are smart and they realized this, while others are so blind, they will blame everything, apart from their crappy team and display.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Vs Norwich City (2 - 0) On Saturday 1st October 2011 by bigsean(m): 4:54pm On Oct 01, 2011
Agreed, this is not one of united's best performances, and personally i believe Norwich deserved a point or atleast a goal for their effort, cos they played really well (or atleast defended really well, lol) at old traford. But u guys should stop saying crap like "how did united beat chelsea and arsenal this season?", every game is evaluated on its on merit. Are u saying chelsea or Arsenal played better than man united during their encounter this season? Ofcos not.

folahann:

Even with your bestest team, you will still finish below Arsenal (making an assumption u're a Spurs fan).
If Arsenal comes 19th this season, we will still have to look below us for Spurs at 20th. If spurs finish 2nd, you will have to look above for Arsenal.

That was the case in your best season when Spurs qualified for UCL, Arsenal was looking down at Spurs from 3rd place. We'll always shhite on you.

Firstly, I'm a United fan so i have nothing but pity for arsenal (united lives to win trophies, while arsenal lives to win united, which rarely happens esp in modern encounters).
But back to the spurs vs arsenal game, because spurs has consistently finished below arsenal doesn't mean this year wont be an exception.
Mancity has consistently finished below arsenal, but what happened last season? grin
Spurs intention this season speaks for its self, they did everything in their power to keep modric et al when they failed to qualify for UCL, what did arsernal do? they sold fab and nasri (i can slightly understd fabregas exit cos the guy done "bros" for asernal with no trophy to his name when players of lesser quality even in Birmingham can even boast of carling cup, lol, but nasri was just poor planning on wengers part. )
I would love to see your reply on this post after sundays game (i'm actually watching this game as a nuetral fan, lol cheesy, cos none of the 2 teams can even threaten united's title challenge)
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Tottenham Vs Arsenal (2 - 1) On 2nd October 2011 by bigsean(m): 1:33am On Oct 01, 2011
Its just funny how people think with Arsenal's crappy team this season, that they can beat spurs that kept all their stars of last season (bale, vart, modric etc) and even added Adebayor and Parker,  Arsenal fans should be happy if they can pull out a draw from this game. Any team that can sell fabregas and nasri in one season without viable (quality) replacements does not deserve to finish in the top 4 of the EPL in my opinion.

Desola:

I don't just see this as an attack by the PDP but in particular, I see it as an attck by the Jonasatan government to checkmate the Yoruba nation. You just have to look at his cabinet to obtain the answer.

Yorubas shouldn't see this as the process of justice, but a ploy to cripple us. When the head has been cut, what is left of the body? They keep killing our leaders and we wait and look on - but for how long?

Tinubu might be a rogue but he is a very necessary rogue at this time and we as a nation (Yoruba) need to rally around him. This man is great; they see it, he is the only one who can rise up to them for now and we have to protect him.

Where is Abiola today? Where is Bola Ige? Adesanya nko? Must we continue to siddon look while they turn us into a nation without leaders and direction like our neighbours?

Yoruba ronu o.

This doesnt even add up "attack on yoruba" have u forgotten Bode George and OGD just to mention a few. This is a hustle for political control and not tribe, so pls dont be naive.

Phones / Re: Death Of Nokia by bigsean(m): 4:16pm On Aug 30, 2011
For does of us that are not cool with colours, lol.
Nokia is the last blue and it had its profit shares drop from say 60% or over in 2007 to less than 20% in 2010.
All u die hard nokia fans (like me sadly), really don't want to know what that figure is looking like right now (2011).
Even BB is strongly in developed nations like US and UK. Iphone and Android is consuming the market.
Phones / Re: Death Of Nokia by bigsean(m): 4:09pm On Aug 30, 2011
I dont see anything wrong in what @Omicpet has said.
Yes maybe by saying the "death of Nokia" was a little "hyperbolic" but we all should understand what he is saying.
And what he's saying is true. (that is nokia is losing if they haven't already lost the phone battle)
Because u dont know something doesn't mean it is not happening or it's not true, "trust me, what u dont know can really hurt u grin"
Nokia's rapid decline in phone market share is alarming, yes they may actually have the best hardware (in my opinion), but BB, android and Iphone have got nokia eating dust way behind them when it comes to OS platform.
permit me to kindly attach a survey that is atleast 12months old (maybe older) on the profit shares on 8 phones companies and u be the Judge.

Religion / Re: Question For Atheists And Religious People by bigsean(m): 11:13pm On Aug 22, 2011
Kenyy:

Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing bad things, but for good people to do bad things, it takes religion.

Besides, the more man clings to religion, the more he believes. The more he believes, the less he knows. The less he knows, the more silly he is. The more silly, the easier he can be governed! The easier to govern, the better he may be exploited. The more exploited, the poorer he gets. The poorer he gets, the richer and mightier the domineering classes get, the more riches and power they amass, the heavier their yoke upon the neck of the people. Furthermore, give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day. Give him a religion, and he'll starve to death while praying for a fish.
What u just said is really deep, only if people could read it again and realize!!!
Religion / Re: Question For Atheists And Religious People by bigsean(m): 10:52pm On Aug 22, 2011

U're just a shame
Religion / Re: Question For Atheists And Religious People by bigsean(m): 7:34pm On Aug 22, 2011
@naijasexy (nice username by the way wink)
my comment means i do not know/have all the answers (and i admit that) and i have a truly open mind to know/seek whats true and whats not.
But Religion(s) on the other hand, are so sold to thinking that they are so right or they have all the answers (which they clearly don't, duh!)
Its funny how pple use logic for their everyday living but when it comes to religion, logic is the first thing thrown out the window.
Religion / Re: Question For Atheists And Religious People by bigsean(m): 6:40pm On Aug 22, 2011
As i stated earlier, "I'm not an atheist. There's a really big difference between an atheist and someone who just doesn't believe in religion. Religion to me is a bureaucracy between man and god that I don't need. But I'm not an atheist, no." I believe there's some force.
If you want to call it god fine (good for you), but well I don't believe god is a single parent, like the Christians do grin.
Religion has caused to much deaths in this world, dating from way back, its just not fair we kill people for what we are not sure about.
(christians "crusaders",
muslims "fanatics, terrorists etc"
