What you don't focus on wont grow, don't listen to those who say you should diversify for the sake of diversifying, do that only when it's necessary.
I know buying purebreeds and co is expensive but I would advice you start with what you have, external loans put too much pressure on you and might see you bailing out on an investment before it is mature to settle a loan,

Take your business model apart, find ways you can cut costs (e.g hire instead of buy equipment for the short term)

& Goodluck

Elai147: It is almost worthless. Tell me how dividend payment in dollars is a plus. The equivalent in Naira is practically what other companies in its category would pay. Even after the acquisition, they refused to credit investors CSCS account with the new ETI shares equivalent. Information reaching me says ETI is delaying in crediting the equivalent ETI shares in investors account in order to avoid mass selling by investors which will in turn cause a sudden fall in the price of ETI shares. The coy has not been finding it easy since the acquisition deal and will want to delay crediting the ETI equivalent in investors account to allow them more time to make good profit and this may take another one or two years. So how is that not worthless? A stock that you cannot sell simply because you have not been credited is almost worthless. Even if ETI hit N100 today we cannot sell because we don't have it yet in our CSCS. All we can do is fold our hands and watch.
Check with your broker, mine was credited and I sold earlier this year

learner1: Is it possible to sell my late dad shares? No record nothing but i got to know about some when d dividend are being posted. Some of d profits are very annoying sometimes 1 naira, 200 naira e.t.c. How can i possibly know all d shares he bought? I felt those capital are just tied there and wasting away. Now that NSE has rebound and i think is an opportunity to sell it off.

Now, my own dilema is this. In 2008, I bought oceanic bank shares worth #100,000 and till this day, no single dividend. The certificate is still there gathering dust. What should i do please? I have better things to invest these money and not this manipulated stock market. I need help abeg
Oceanic is practically worthless, I think it was converted to Ecobank Transnational or So,
Look for his share certificates, you should be able to claim them with his Death certificate and sell

valacious: @those asking if you can buy right issue of transcorp at N1 even though u never had shares there before, i say yes u can. Just ask your broker, there could be people who do not want to pick up their rights, so u just pay money to your broker account and they buy and do u a transfer, daz all! I think this is the best time for japaul now. Buy japaul now!
Especially those who bought Japaul Public Offer at 3.50.. lol.

I've learnt my lesson from the last crash, set targets and cash my money when I exceed them, if the profit is not in my Bank account, it is not profit.

Omexonomy: are you sure the owners over subscrib how is that posible.
Read this, especially items 6 & 7, 4.5 billion rights where issued, 2.93 billion where renounced(about 65%), that was absorbed by 1 shareholder.
Go through your annual reports and you'd know the 1 shareholder in that bracket

Elai147: The Right Issue was extended and I think it was because they failed to realise the expected N13 billion proceeds. Anybody wanting to buy fresh Transcorp shares should wait until after friday 07 June, which is the extension date of the Right Issue to see if it will be successful. I wonder why the Right Issue was not successful the first time- apparently because they got lesser shareholder participation. Oando needed N54.6 billion in Right Issue and they got N62 billion indicating an oversubscription of N8 billion. Transcorp diversification is getting too much ooo. I wonder when investors will start benefiting from their investment on this coy since most parts of their earnings are used to acquire one thing or the other. Why can't they just settle in one place and allow investors to enjoy their investment? Very soon we will hear that transcorp has acquired a bank and name it "Transcorp Bank". Lmao.. anyway, I am waiting for transcorp @N1.00, Right Issue or no Right Issue. Because even after Right Issue what is the assurance that the downtrend will not continue till it gets to N1.00. Abeg Transcorp shareholders make una no vex, I just wan enter @ awuuf price.
Oando Rights Issue was oversubscribed by the Owners of Oando, it was an outright failure.
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by bigx(m): 2:03pm On Jun 05, 2013
Elai147: You cannot buy from the Right Issue since you don't have any Transcorp shares in your portfolio. Your best bet is to buy at a good market price before the uptrend starts. Usually, stock prices are expected to go up after Right Issue but certainly not in all cases. For me, I can't benefit from the Roght Issue but I am waiting with great care for the price to go down more. Who knows, we may eventually buy @N1.00 which is the same as the Right Issue.
Ask a stockbroker, I think they can bid for unclaimed rights not sure.

Toluway: Thank you bigx. I heard something about the right issue recently on this forum, but i didnt know there is already a price tag with it. Very good at that price. Please what is the date of coomencement of the right issue ?. Talking about Transcorps.

AS regards Meritrade, I used 'market price'
It was to end 31st last month but I think they extended it.

Toluway: Looking at the daily chart reveals to me that Skye Bank might want to reverse at #4.75. I might be incorrect though.

Right or no right issue, I think Transcorps at #1.23 was a good price as at yesterday. It seems to be at its support level. I am still summoning the courage to enter. Pls help!
rights are selling at 1naira

Toluway: The order I gave to meristem in respect of May&Baker was not executed yesterday for reasons they failed to explain. This may be a devine intervention anyway.

This is because I have just discovered that apart from the fact that the the company has been in debt, it is at present looking for more debt to aggravate it's condition of indebtedness.

There is no gainsaying the fact that it is an age-long brand with long lasting production of indispensable medical goods. It has not been running at a lose like Neimeth Pharmaceuticals. It's profit after tax even improved over 2012. You also have the opportunity to buy low at #2.43 but this indebtedness and propensity to borrow more has put me in a state of dilemma. Friends ?
Almost every business borrows,
the issue is how they use the money and if they can pay back
