jacobscros: I bought my own T-bill for 100k from my a/c officer at fbn and i make 3k every 3months from it.you have the option to add more money to your initial investment upon its maturity date thus increasing your future returns.
Roughly 12% per annum, meanwhile with fixed deposit u'd beg for 5%

toluxa1: How do I buy Treasury bills, What is the minimum I need to buy it and what are the returns like?
It depends on where you buy, check discount houses or ask your account officers at your bank, the place I use accepts a minimum of 1 million naira for investment and the returns range from 7 - 14% (annually) depending

legalwealth: You might be right and you might not be.

As a matter of fact, you won't receive alert for all deposits but you will be charged at the end of the month.

A very example is that a nairalander called as at 9 a.m yesterday morning that he wanted to fund Liberty reserve
and he made the payment as early as possible around 9.30 a.m and I checked my account via Internet banking but I didn't find his deposit though he seriously claimed that he made payment of N4,000.

Seriously speaking,I deposit only appeared around 7.30 p.m around evening and up till now,no alert on my phone whatsoever.

What is now the essence of alert as I'm evening planning of disabling it and adding it money to my monthly subscription on my smartphone since I do check my balance and make transfers on my smartphone using OperaMobile 11.
I've the same issues too I've been getting 1 out of 3 alerts from gtb for d past week or so but the issue is that I'm a very mobile person so most times I'm driving and its nt really convenient/safe browsing while driving. So its easier to just get the alerts, check and foward to my people at the office to handle.
Also, browsers can disappoint at times o!

Never keep above 1m u won't use for more than 30 days in your savings account, move it to a fixed deposit account or t.bills for better returns, only keep what you need immediately +extra for emergencies in the bank.
Business › Re: Ways To Beat The Banks by bigx(m): 6:56am On Nov 06, 2012
legalwealth: Activate Internet Banking and deactivate SMS alert on your phone if you receive a lot of alerts or use your account for business.

And just be checking your transaction on your phone with operamini.
Clients would kill your battery with calls, especially with a product that needs almost instant provisioning, the 10naira per sms is worth the peace of mind, its the COT that's my grouse
Business › Re: What Are The Stocks To Buy Now? by bigx(m): 6:29am On Nov 06, 2012
ihedioramma: THANK'S AND ? I NEED MORE TWO STOCK'S .
Don't just ask for stock's to buy. Know why, the stock market is the fastest way to make and loose money. I bought a lot of NEM at 0.52 recently because they've been consistently paying dividends and analysis of their q3 is favourable, also stocks do not/ hardly sell below 0.50 so my downside is just 2kobo if the price ever falls.

Calm down, put your money in t.bills or bonds and learn before investing,

Stockmarketnigeria.com (its owned by seun too) is a good place to start.

webdezzi: imagine, what is innovative about website design services and training that you offer?
at the training, i was able to meet loads of guys with innovative ideas in my sector, all not chosen.

forget the argument. we know how things run in Naija.
They'd support ideas with smaller risk of failure #justsaying. I didn't apply or participate so I won't know for sure.

You focus more on unimportant things than on marketing, if you want to make money out of anything learn to market.
I normally see your posts on nairaland and you and the other developers spend the whole time nit-picking and critiscising other client's work. What is really important at the end of the road is what the client wants, the client doesn't care if its divs or tables you use to achieve that.
I started with the development path but flunked it to learn how to sell and I can swear, that'd pay you loads more.

berem: Please when will David Oledepo and his cohorts visit the flood victims? Abi im never see them? This is the time to give the needy a helping hand.
Have you not yet noticed that everyone going there with full camera crews has ulterior motives? Either politicians looking for something positive for their 2015 portfolio or musicians/actors trying to improve their public image.
This whole jamboree thing is pointless, if you want to help, help why must a camera crew document every step of the process?

maasoap: Just because we don't know you, any lie is welcome. What is your business, how did you start, how much was your start up capital? Abi your business is a secret one?
If I answer you that'd be the 3rd time I'm answering that question on this forum, that you're unfortunate doesn't mean you go about calling others liars.
Since everything said online is a lie to you I won't bother answering you, if you want to know come over to Port Harcourt, I'd pay your return flight ticket and Hotel expenses so you see with your own eyes what my business is all about and I'd show you receipts & bank tellers I used in paying when I started up.
I'd rather put my money where my mouth is rather than argue here with you.

new maonza: You are disillusioned by the Power of positive thinking..... WAKE UP to the REAL WORLD
I am not disillusioned by it Young Man, I've been living in it for years now! If your goals/ expectations are learning to be an Auto-Mechanic that's the realm you would live in, Wake up to the REAL WORLD! Good things are happening to ordinary people all around you. I started my own business with much less than what I mentioned in that post and I know what level it has grown to now.

maasoap: I didn't know that contracts have become what you can easily pick up on the streets just like used recharge cards until you told me. Ordinary people, and without money to bribe people don't get contracts in Naija. Of course, you know.
Have you ever tried before? Or your just saying what you've heard? & bribes are not always paid before...

2. How does he secure a loan if he doesn't have a collateral.
3. Would you give him an airline ticket to fly to Ghana?

We have to be reasonable when we offer advise. The young says he barely making a living with is wages from construction work...meaning he has no savings PEOPLE!
What would you advise him to do?

onyekabe: The problem with my friend here, is how to get capital, bank can't give him loan to start and okada is on longer available, though some will say go and start your own business, if any body have an idea in to start your biz without money please state let us know cos i am in the same shoe him with
You should stop focusing on capital and start focusing on solutions. If all you think of is capital you'd never start anything. How many successful business people take loans from banks today? Think of what you can start small and start thinking of solutions to bypass the capital issue, you don't need to pay money for everything,
