PoliticsRe: Why Yar'adua Was Stuck In Saudi Arabia by bilymuse: 1:18pm On Sep 04, 2008
Another striking similarity between Yar'adua and Abacha is their shared belief in the power of marabouts and spiritualized practices. In Yar'adua's case, his associates who spoke to SaharaReporters said his troubled life of prolonged mental and physical illness pushed him into the hands of marabouts.

The friend said Yar'adua once broke down mentally but sought help and found cure from one Alhaji Momodu Maijara, a marabout from Niger Republic, who cured him with a combination of horse whips, prayers and herbs.
One source told SaharaReporters that Alhaji Maijara frequently occupies Houses “5” and “7” in the Aso Rock Villa. Another maraboutone of severalalso lives in House "8" at the villa. Another group of marabout imams live in the Defense House.
Since its now obviouse that all our presidents are strong apostle marabout/jujumen; for national peace and tranquility a special ministry of juju/harbalist should be created, to advise and implement all marabout policy of the government.

I think the FG or the aviation ministry needs to set up a CTU or Forensic investigation unit made up of hunters, fishermen, fulani cow rearers, native doctors (orubo), abrakatabralists, etc. What can I say? Since western technology can't help the situation in Nigeria, lets try local.
I perfectly agree with you, we need juju forensic technology, not only in the aviation ministry but in all government institutions

Do you people know how much they invested into the senatorial project:

Day and night they visit babalawo, drink all sort of concoction and perform bizarre rituals. Bribe INEC officials, police , thugs etc. Share family supports to various people and do deals with the godfathers.

Give and take, they need to recoup some of their investment.

Hunters found missing plane – C’River
By Everest Amaefule and Oyetunji Abioye
Published: Wednesday, 3 Sep 2008

Hunters found the wreckage of the Beachcraft 1900D plane in Busi, Obalinku Local Government Area, the Cross River State Government has said.

The finding, exclusively reported by THE PUNCH on Tuesday, puts to rest the controversy over the fate of the light aircraft which disappeared from the nation’s airspace on March 15, 2008.

A statement by Mr. Patrick Ugbe, the Chief Press Secretary/Special Assistant on Media to Governor Liyel Imoke, said the hunters recovered the international passport of the pilot, Captain Augustine Egbedi among other items from the aircraft.

Breaking News

Like the classic humourist, Mark Twain, who had the distinction of reading his obituary while still alive, President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua yesterday described reports of his rumoured death as “grossly exaggerated”.
The whole country had been awash with rumours of the president’s “death” since Saturday following reports that he had undergone a surgery and had gone into coma.
However, speaking with Mr. Nduka Obaigbena, Chair-man/Editor-in-Chief of THISDAY, on phone late last night, the president echoed the words of Twain, saying there was an exaggeration in the wild rumour.
The conversation went thus:
THISDAY: Mr. President, good evening.
Yar’Adua: Good evening.
THISDAY: Where are you, Your Excellency?
Yar’Adua: I’m in the Land of Palm Trees. If you want some dates, I’ll bring for you (laughs).
THISDAY: Is everything all right with you, Mr. President?
Yar’Adua: All is well. I’m very okay.
THISDAY: I’m surprised that despite the rumours, your voice is sounding strong.
Yar’Adua: It is always strong. It has always been so.
THISDAY: So when should we expect you back in Nigeria?
Yar’Adua: Well, Ramadan fasting will start here in Saudi Arabia tomorrow (Monday). You know as a true Muslim, I will certainly observe the Ramadan from tomorrow (Monday). So I will return to Nigeria anytime from Tuesday (tomorrow).
THISDAY also learnt that the president spoke with key government officials, including Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan, and his aged mother in Katsina yesterday.
THISDAY checks revealed that although the President travelled to Saudi Arabia ostensibly to perform the lesser Hajj, he might have received medical attention, leading to speculations on the state of his health.
Also yesterday, the Federal Government said the President “is very well and in good health to steer the affairs of the state”.
Minister of Information and Communication John Odey dispelled the rumour about Yar’Adua’s health in a two-paragraph statement in Abuja.
He said: “The Federal Government wishes to appreciate the concern that has been raised in the newspapers and some sections of the media over the past few days on the state of health of Mr. President, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar Adua, and to restate here that Mr. President is very well and healthy.
“He is in good health to steer the affairs of the state to bring about better livelihood for the generality of the people of Nigeria. He is expected back in Nigeria soon after his trip to Saudi Arabia where he has gone on lesser hajj.”
The statement was, however, silent on reports in some newspapers that the President underwent surgery in a hospital in Saudi Arabia.
The matter of Yar’Adua’s failing health has become an issue since the days following his nomination as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the April 19 2007 presidential election when he was rumoured dead.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo had to publicly call Yar’Adua at a presidential campaign rally in Abeokuta where the latter who was then receiving medical treatment abroad dispelled rumours of his death.
But speculations about President Yar’Adua’s ill-health were rekindled again in the wake of his trip to Saudi Arabia last week shortly after approving the appointment of new service chiefs.
Following the trip, the rumour mill had it that Yar’Adua had gone to Saudi Arabia for medical treatment.
But the Federal Executive Council (FEC) after its weekly meeting last Wedn-esday told Nigerians that contrary to rumours making the round, the President was performing Umrah (lesser hajj) in Saudi Arabia.
The rumour about Yar’Adua’s ill-health and possible death, however, thickened following the cancellation of the scheduled state visit to Brazil.
Government again denied that the change had anything to do with the President’s poor health.
FEC said the president was still performing the lesser hajj in Saudi Arabia, and would return whenever he concluded the programme.
Some media reports even alleged that the President underwent surgery suspected to be kidney-related ailment at King Fahd Hospital in Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, the Action Congress (AC) has accused the Federal Executive Council (FEC) of deliberately feeding the public with lies over the health of President Yar'Adua.
AC’s National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who made the accusation last night in a statement, said the President's health could not be treated as a private affair, “because as a public official - and the foremost one at that - whatever happens to him is of interest to the citizenry and affects the entire country.”
He said: “As the President, Yar'Adua is the father of the nation. The health of the father cannot be kept as a secret from his children. It is as simple as that. That is why we are very worried that the FEC could stoop so low as to engage in cheap lies over the President's health.
“Don’t they know that the world has become a global 'glass' village where nothing is hidden?
“If the FEC's statement was made out of ignorance or lack of information on the President's health, it is bad enough! If it was made to deceive the public, it is even worse…and calls to question the sincerity of the council's members.”
The party wished the President full recovery and prayed that God would grant him good health to enable him steer the ship of state in the right direction.
AC, however, commended the Nigerian media for unearthing the truth, which according to him, is that President Yar'Adua is undergoing medical treatment in Saudi Arabia rather than being there for lesser Hajj “as deceptively disseminated by the FEC”.
He said the government's information managers had again failed the nation and shown that they were anything but professionals, “by their inability to manage the information concerning the President’s health.”
“What should have earned the President the sympathy and prayers of his countrymen and women has again become a matter for wild speculations, no thanks to inept information machinery. The state of the President's health is an important issue. It should neither be politicised nor trivialised,” he added.

What all nigerians fail to understand is that the most powerful politician in nigeria or else were is YOU ! The voter , the citizen , the patriot. Unite as one and feel the power.
the voters does not matter in Nigeria election, wheather you vote or not, wheather 2 died or 200 died; result will be announced
its not the voters that matters in Nigeria, rather its the person that count the votes.

therefore the voters are not in contention for the political grandmaster slot

Yar Adua has in fact been clinically dead for quite a while even before he assumed office. His life-like appearance is acheived with the skillful application of theatrical makeup by a team of special-effects technicians and reconstructive morticians.

If Yar Adua were in fact alive, he would have been observed or recorded making at least one speech or public appearance, which has not been the case. The only evidence of Yar Adua's living existence consists of various still photographs for which his body appears propped up with hidden supports so that he can be made to mouth the words of a nearby ventriloquist in order to fool press photographers.
Jakumo what has Yaradua done to you to deserve this big medical grammer - "clinically dead", Jesus.

As of 5 years ago , there are more than 300 hundred banks and financial houses in Nigeria. More than half of them were formed during IBB era when he deregulated the financial sector and are owned by corrupt politicians /retired military officers. Most of the financial houses went under, and nothing happen to their owners. So it not only Saraki that got away with duping innocent depositors.

Regarding the third term, more than 70% of Nigerian politicians didn't support it, and nothing happen to them too.

At the moment, i would have to say it is the Saraki's

With a veteran father, a daughter in the senate, connections in all the right places and a son running things as a governor, they are set
Kwara is a village , underdeveloped , filled with illiterates. Saraki is the only politician of note from the state, that is why he tread the political landscape unchallenged.  He plays amala politics and treated the people with utter disgust and contempt by ruling the state as a extension of his private company.

Shame on kwarans and all the apostles of amala politics.

Stats:
His state (kwara) standing his high, his regional ( north) standing low, and national standing ( Nigeria) low. Saraki is not in contention for the top political grandmaster slot.

EFCC dismisses 11 officials for forgery
By Oscarline Onwuemenyi, Abuja
Published: Monday, 25 Aug 2008
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Sunday said it had dismissed 11 officials for forgery and other fraudulent acts.

The dismissed officials include three junior staff, four cadet officers, three senior staff and one management officer.

According to a statement by the Head of Media and Publicity in the commission, Mr. Femi Babafemi, and made available to our correspondent in Abuja, the affected officers were sacked between August 2007 and August 2008.

The dismissed officials were detected after routine investigations carried out on them to verify the authenticity of their academic claims revealed anomalies.

Those dismissed on account of certificate forgery include Adamu Samson, Usman Muhammed, Muhammed Umar, Collins Nwachukwu, Shola Pedro, Olatunji Oluwakeri, Adaka James, Akinwamide Oluwaseyi, Mohammed Maina, and David Ibhawoh.

While the 10 officers dismissed on account of forgery will not be prosecuted, the Chairman of the commission, Mrs. Farida Waziri, has, however, directed that Mr. Davies Idrisu Ibrahim, who was arrested in Lagos last week for conniving with others to defraud a suspect, should be dismissed and prosecuted.

He is expected to be charged to court this week.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Ambassador to Australia, Prof. Sunday Olu Agbi, has said that people being cheated in the so-called “Nigerian scams” are greedy and should be jailed.

According to an online publication, Agbi said on Sunday that Nigeria had gained a bad reputation because of the scams perpetrated by a few people, and that those who found themselves involved with the scams were equally as guilty as those running them.

It reads, “The Nigerian government frowns very seriously on these scams and everyday tries to track down those who are involved,” Agbi told the Sydney Morning Herald in response to a previous article on Australians falling for Nigerian scams.

“People who send their money are as guilty as those who are asking them to send the money,” he said.

Out of the 140 million people in Nigeria, Agbi said that 0.1 per cent were involved in scams. The scams, also referred to as 419 or advance-fee fraud, predate the Internet, but have exploded in recent years thanks to the proliferation of e-mail and instant money transfers
