Present dreamers - vision 2020 The government has finally realised that Nigerian loves dream and hope, so they keep feeding them with deception. The new whiz kid in town is vision 2020. By the year 2020 Nigeria is going to be like New York and my grandmother is going to be a professor of aeronautic engineering, despite the fact that she is illiterate. The grand optimist will tell you all things are possible, and my illiterate grandmother will be a professor, hurray!!!! this is another scam, wake up from your deep slumber. |
AND THE DREAM CONTINUES, There comes Abacha with his own dream and he called it vision 2010, the slogan were similar: Industrialisation Education Technology etc At he end of his rule, Nigeria were faced with reality: We were worst than when he started. He looted the treasury with careless abandonment and operate the nation's treasury as if it was his personal bank account and committed atrocities . That was Abachas dream , vision 2010 |
THE HISTORY OF NIGERIAN DREAMS The first Nigerian dreamer in recent memory was Babangida. He was the beautiful bride and suitors dazzle by his charisma flock in. At the beginning of his rule he launch his dream and called it vision 2000. The slogan was: Shelter for all by year 2000 Good roads by year 2000 Education for all by Year 2000 Food for all by year 2000 By year 2000, after IBB misrule , he left Nigeria in tatters. Over 3 billion dollars of excess crude oil fund cannot be accounted for. He practically legalised bribery and corruption. Today, all Nigerian 419s are graduate of IBB school of deception. He created a new set of pen robbers whom he called newbreed politicians, and gradually they took over power. Over 70% of Nigeria politicians today are newbreed with their root in IBB era. Even Yaradua is a new breed with root in IBB era. This newbreed politicians took corruption to another level and loot the treasury ruthlessly. That is the reason why IBB is one of the main power broker, untouchable and the grand godfather of Nigeria 419. That is the dream, vision 2000. |
Militants reject Niger Delta ministry From Soji Ajibola and Bolaji Ogundele - 12.09.2008 MILITANTS in the Niger Delta region have rejected the proposed creation of a ministry of Niger Delta, saying the move was “another way of stealing money.” The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), in a reaction to the development, said ministries that had existed before now had been massive failures and avenues for some people to enrich themselves. In an online reaction by the group sent by its spokesman, Jomo Gbomo, MEND said it was “not impressed as this is not addressing the root issues of the unrest in the region. All existing ministries to date are fraught with incompetence, corruption and bureaucracy. “Take the ministries of health, works and education for example. These ministries are over 40 years old but have failed to deliver. The president himself does not have faith in the health care system, almost all the top government functionaries send their children overseas for studies and the roads are death traps for travellers. “So, establishing a ‘ministry’ for the Niger Delta is another way of stealing money. "The people of the region should receive this latest dish with apprehension. It will be yet another avenue for corruption and political favouritism,” it said. What exactly is your gripe with someone saying, it can be better so let us act to make it so?its a false hope, and an empty promise for the future. Just like in the days of Noah, the nation is doom. those who want to survive must board the ship. Don't inspire people to believe in a bright future that would never come- it called deception |
The reality is that Nigeria has no future, our future is tied to oil. When the price of oil goes up in the international market , more money comes into he coffer of the government and they are happy; low price , less money and sadness. when the oil finish , Nigeria will cease to exit as a nation. |
This is something i just don't get, so everyone who dares to dream of a better Nigeria is living in fantasy? The thing about dreams is that a lot of people dream then work to make the dream a reality. In Nigeria it seems it is either just dream and not act at all to bring it to reality or just remain pessimistic.brother Joseph, which dream are you talking about. It easy for you in abroad to talk about dream: live in a big house surrounded by modern gadget, drive big car, spend hard currency. The real Nigerians are in Nigeria, they have nothing. Most of them haven't eaten since yesterday. While you in abroad are having a dream, the real Nigerians are having a nightmare |
why do Nigerians believe so much in juju |
Brother Joseph, the dreamer Nigeria is living on a borrowed time The name Nigeria will cease to exist in 50 years time |
Tufiakwa, The Lord is good. |
Brother Rhino I love your optimism and philosophycal gyration, I wish I could caught a whiff , the reality is lm too old to be day dreaming. Wake up to reality , Nigeria is doom |
LGA, LGA, LGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! state , state , state!!!!!!!!!! all for the sake of federal allocation |

Baby saves mother from ritualists 11.09.2008 Divine intervention through a 10-month-old baby boy in Gombe State has saved his mother from being murdered and used for rituals. Narrating her ordeal to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the mother, Fatsuma Hassan, 35, a resident of Bula village, near Gombe, said she and her son had left home for Gombe on Wednesday. She said “when we arrived in Gombe and disembarked at Shongo motor park, a commercial motorcyclist approached me and asked where I was going, I told him Chenchenya area. ‘’But as I was about to climb the bike, he removed a N500 note, requesting for change and immediately I set my eyes on the note, I lost my senses. “The next thing, I saw myself in front of a house with black gate and was forced to enter it.” The victim further revealed that while in the house, she was forcefully undressed and her armpits, genital and head were shaved. “However, my baby boy, who was dropped on the floor became restless, crawling from one end of the house to the other and crying ceaselessly. “At a point, he was crawling towards two containers of liquid substance, an action that infuriated a woman in the house, who then ordered that my son be restrained. “The woman who, from all indications, was one of the leaders in the house, queried the motorcyclist for bringing her a nursing mother,” Hassan further said. According to Fatsuma, the woman then ordered that the “troublesome boy” be handed over to his mother and they be released. “Again, as the gate was opened and another motorcyclist ordered to drop me anywhere, I lost my senses a second time, only to find myself close to a motor park in Nasarawo area of Gombe. “I could not recognise the motorcyclist that brought me to the place,” she added. Fatsuma said that the incident occurred between 5.00 p.m. and 8.00 p.m. and that she could not identify the area of the town she was taken to. She stated that while in the house, she saw three other victims, two girls and a woman. “I suspected the girls were caught while hawking fried yam and egg because I saw their wares in the house,” Fatsuma further said. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- source:http://www.tribune.com.ng/11092008/news/news6.html |

‘Nigerian children shun schools’ By Tobi Soniyi, Abuja Published: Wednesday, 10 Sep 2008 The Federal Government has said that enrolment in primary school has been slowing down, raising concerns that the country is far from realising the United Nations Millennium Development Goals on education. Skip to next paragraph File Dr. Igwe Aja-Nwachukwu, Minister of Education The UN’s MDG expects Nigeria to ensure that boys and girls complete primary school. In a report submitted to the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, the government noted that enrolment in primary school had been nosediving for both boys and girls. The report was submitted in line with Article 18 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. It says, “contrary to the data from previous years, primary school education enrolment between 2004 and 2006 among female children showed a downward trend from 80 per cent to 60.4 per cent of the total number of girls that are within the age of enrolment. “The trend was similar to that of boys which dropped from 80 per cent to 64 per cent within the same period.” Member nations of the UN are expected to submit periodic reports detailing how they have implemented the convention, according to the report obtained by our correspondent in Abuja on Tuesday. source:http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art200809104304568 |
Militants take over oil platform in Bayelsa Soji Ajibola, Yenagoa - 10.09.2008 An oil platform of a major oil company in Sangana, Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, has been taken over by militants. This is coming just as the operatives of the Joint Military Task Force (JTF) has beefed up security on the Nembe water ways to forestall any attack by the militant groups. The platform, according to a source, was invaded by the militant youth in the early hours of Tuesday, shooting sporadically to scare the workers and the mobile policemen attached to the platform. The incident, which occurred barely four days after a group of suspected militant youths engaged the operatives of JTF in a gun duel that lasted for four hours in the Nembe creek, has now heightened tension in the area. As of the time of filing this report, it could not be confirmed whether there was any casualty or hostages. But the Commander of JTF in the state, Lt. Col. Chris Musa, while speaking with the Nigeiran Tribune on the telephone, said soldiers had been sent to the area. “I am still expecting the report from them, that is why I cannot say categorically what happened,” he said. PDP members wish Yar’Adua dead, says Abia governor By Ihuoma Chiedozie, Abuja Published: Wednesday, 10 Sep 2008 Abia State Governor, Theodore Orji, on Tuesday said some members of the Peoples Democratic Party were wishing President Umaru Yar’Adua dead. He said an assessment of the criticisms directed at Yar’Adua over the state of his health revealed that they did not come from politicians in opposition parties. Orji, who was one of the governors that visited the President at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, told journalists that the Progressive Peoples Alliance was not a part of the criticisms, especially the calls for Yar’Adua to resign on health grounds. Orji said, “My party is not among those that criticised the President. We believe in the Government of National Unity. “If you take a good look at the people criticising him, they are even the ones in the President‘s party. They are the ones wishing him dead. “People in the opposition are not wishing him bad, they are wishing him well.” source:http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art200809101175970 |
In 30yrs Nigeria would be a more industrialized nation with more enlightened people.Sorry to dissappoint you, l think Nigeria would be worst than it is today in 30 years time. The basic ingredients for nation building is absent. Our infrastructure has been decaying year after year, Nigeria is one of the most corrupt nation in the world, the three major tribe hate each other, the militant in the oil community are in arms with the federal government, Mossob want to secede, no social cohesion, economy policy, nothing, just nothing. For the past 30 years people have been praying day and night for things to get better, but it only got worst. We are yet to reach the bottom, there is no hope, no future, nothing. For the diasporian, if you are lucky to get a dual citizenship, please do, this country is doom. No tribe in Nigeria is happy being a Nigerian . We would be very lucky if Nigeria still exist as a nation in 30 years time, our destiny is tied to oil, when the oil finishe, Nigeria will certainly disintegrate. |
at poster I think this crusade will definitely start from the north. There would be no revolt from the north. For the past 50 years the north has never revolt over economy, only religion issues brought them to the street. there is no sign it going to change soon. The Muslim north believe that everything comes from God, therefore a bad economy too comes from God. This explain the lackadaisical attitude of a core northerner: everything is of God, man cannot change anything except its the will of God. The northerner only comes to the street to butchered other tribe on the false pretence of religion. |
Kingibe refuse to heed the words of the elders: "until the lion dies, you cannot use its skin to make drum" |
DeepZone Is it because MC Usman accuse you of northern bashing, that prompted you to advocate for Ahmadu Bello holiday? If yes, lm terrible disappointed. MC Usman is just another half baked northern illiterate, who works in a cybercafe and use the opportunity to post rubbish. he is a member of banza bakwai and shallow. If he has any shred of decency he should post a thread advising Yaradua to stop lying in the holy month of Ramadan and tell Nigerians the truth about his visit to Saudi Arabia For your info: there is no northern state without a monument dedicated to Ahmadu Bello |
Its now confirmed; Aviation ministry has formally recognise the role of hunters. |
