National Leader of Accord Party ( AP) and Former governor Rashidi Ladoja of Oyo State has warned that the polarisation in National Assembly may frustrate any effort by President Muhammadu Buhari to deliver the change Nigerians are yearning for. He subsequently enjoined the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to sit-up and resolve the in-fighting and power tussle within its ranks in order not to cause unnecessary distraction for President Buhari. The former governor said the long years of being in the opposition may be responsible for the internal crisis rocking the APC. He wondered why the party is finding it difficult to manage its internal crisis reminding that the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) was able to control the situation in the a House of Representatives under Aminu Tambuwal as Speaker. The AP chieftain said the crisis rocking the National Assembly has led to under-performance from lawmakers through constant recess while members of the NASS still earn salaries and allowances for work not done. Ladoja added that the presence of some National Assembly members at the Code of Conduct tribunal sitting last week for the trial of Senate President, Bukola Saraki showed the APC as a party divided against itself. |

there must be problems, it can't be coincidence.

The National and State Assembly Election
Petition Tribunal sitting in Kaduna, on
Wednesday, nullified the election of Mrs Comfort
Amwe of the Peoples’ Democratic Party as
member representing Sanga Constituency in the
Kaduna State House of Assembly.
The tribunal equally ordered the Independent
National Electoral Commission to issue
Certificate of Return to Mr Haliru Dangana of the
All Progressives Congress who had the second
highest vote in the April 11, election.
The case was instituted by Dangana, who urged
the tribunal to declare the votes secured by
Amwe unlawful, null and void and return him as
the winner of the election..
Dangana hinged his argument on the grounds
that Amwe was not a candidate in the election,
as she was neither sponsored by the PDP nor
had her name published in the list of contestants
in the said election by INEC.
Joined in the petition were the PDP and INEC as
second and third respondents.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Amwe’s
name was not published by INEC in deference to
an exparte order issued by Justice M.A Bello, of
Kaduna State High Court on Dec. 19, 2014,
restraining PDP and INEC from fielding her as a
candidate in the election, pending determination
of the case.
The court order was issued as a result of the fall
out of the PDP primaries.
Counsel for the petitioner, Mr. Fred Odigi, asked
the tribunal to determine whether Amwe was
eligible to contest based on the court order;
whether she was a lawful candidate in the
election, and if votes allocated to her were
lawful.
In his submissions, counsel for the first
respondent, Mr Gideon Didam argued that Awme
was a lawful candidate in the election and was
returned winner by INEC.
Didam argued that the court order which the
petitioner hinged his argument on expired seven
days after it was issued.
On his part, counsel for the PDP, Mr. K. A.
Hamma, argued that the first respondents was
its lawful candidate in the election which she
participated and won.
According to him, Amwe was not liable to the
erroneous omission of her name in the list of
candidates for the election.
INEC admitted omitting the first respondents
name from its published register of candidates
and blamed it on administrative error.
In his judgment, Chairman of the three-man
panel, Justice Abdulhamid Abdullahi, upheld the
petitioners ground that the first respondent was
not a lawful candidate in the election.
According to him, since the name of the first
respondent was not published in the list of
candidates by INEC, it meant that she was not
among the contestants.
“There was no evidence before the tribunal
indicating that the court order was vacated or
set aside by any court of law, and ‘court order’
did not represent a name of candidate.
“It is our conclusion therefore, that as of the
time of the election, the first and second
respondents were not party to the election.
“As such, the votes allocated to the first
respondent by the third respondents were
unlawful and invalid, therefore, making the
petitioner, who scored the second highest lawful
votes the winner of the election.”
Abdulahi, therefore directed INEC to issue
Dangana a certificate of return as the winner of
the April 11, election, with 18,880 votes over
Labour Party’s candidate.
In his reaction, Odogi, counsel for the petitioner,
described the judgment as a restoration of hope
in the judiciary and thanked the tribunal for
upholding justice.
On his part, Dangana thanked the tribunal for
restoring his mandate.
Meanwhile, Didam said his client will appeal
against the ruling. |
You can imagine the famous man of God? |
Is not a good situation to experience. However, if such happens the best way to end it is to talk it over face to face. While doing that, be objective and modest, identify the factors that will not make it (relationship) achievable and prosperous one. Convince your partner and quit the relationship peacefully. |
Hmm! Some people are just wicked and heartless. |
It is normal. |
Mere show off of affluence, to me is unnecessary. Are you telling us it is all rosy for every member of your paternal and maternal families? |

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-East on Sunday asked Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State to fully accept responsibility for the fate of Ndigbo, especially their inability to secure any appointment so far in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. The party accused Okorocha of neither truly campaigning for President Buhari nor the APC in the build up to the March 28 Presidential/National Assembly elections, insisting that had the governor effectively mobilised the people to support the party, the story would have been totally different. The party in a statement issued by its spokesman in the South-East, Osita Okechukwu and made available to newsmen in Enugu therefore dismissed the statement by Governor Okorocha that Ndigbo were responsible for their exclusion in appointments made by President Buhari. Okechukwu was reacting to an interview granted to a national daily by Okorocha, published on Sunday. In the interview, Okorocha said he shared the sentiments of the Igbo that none of them made the list of appointees. According to Okorocha in the said interview, “Some of the appointments we lost was of the doings of our people,” just as he recalled that when he was crying like a lonely voice in the wilderness “that look at where Nigeria was going, Ndigbo chose to put all their eggs in one basket.” But, in a statement on Sunday, Okechukwu said Okorocha should take responsibility for Igbo exclusion in the appointments, rather than passing the buck to Ndigbo. The statement was titled, ‘Governor Rochas Okorocha neither truly campaigned for President Buhari nor APC’. Okechukwu stated: “I am sorry to comment on the blame game being played by His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha; for his interview can be classified as Okorocha Recue Mission from the less than five percent score in the 2015 presidential election from the entire South East. “All one can say is that to the best of knowledge, he neither truly campaigned for President Muhammadu Buhari nor the All Progressives Congress. “Me thinks that while we blame Ndigbo for putting all our eggs in one basket, we should blame our leaders who genuinely didn’t campaign for President Buhari nor APC candidates in their domain. I challenge Governor Okorocha to tell the world how far he assisted Senator Osita Izunaso for his bid for Orlu senatorial district, his own constituency and that of Honorables Uche Onyeguocha and Uwajimogu of Owerri and Okigwe districts respectively” Okechukwu stated. |

Abuja – The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has confirmed that three Nigerian pilgrims sustained minor injuries in the crane crash in Mecca’s Grand Mosque in Saudi Arabia. The Chairman of the commission, Mallam Abdullahi Mukhtar, who made this known at a news conference in Abuja, said that the victims were responding to treatments in the Holy land. It is absolutely seconded. But, wait this motion ought to have been moved by The so called Regulator (NCC) of Telecom Industry, if not the Federal Lawmakers or Civil Society Group. But we are in Nigeria where Equity, Justice and Fairness are exchanged for self/personal aggrandizement. |
