It is the beginning of immorality when a person that is ready for marriage is keeping a relationship with a brother or sister that is not ready. It is even laughable when both of them are not ready for marriage, yet they are in a relationship, this is totally wrong. We should separate financial assistance from relationship, if you meet a person you really like, and he or she needs financial aid, you can assist, but if you want a relationship, then you must be ready for marriage. Do not spend money on a brother or sister, and condition the person to marry you, that is not a marriage, but a fix. Let your partner marry you by conviction, not persuasion. The man proposed to her, but he's still struggling to get a job or accommodation. But, the guy is cute, so the lady decided to do spending. The lady is working, so the guy comes around to sleep over since she stays alone, he will eat free food and have free sex in the accommodation rented by the lady. She even took a loan in her workplace to support the guy. The guy later messed up, and she lost her money and dignity in a mere relationship. When you meet a lady you like, she is still schooling, her parents cannot afford to send her to the college, if you choose to help, it is charity, but if you want to marry her, do that before investing in the relationship. Before she finishes her education, she must have seen better options, so forcing her to marry you as at that time could be a big mistake. Always pay attention to details. Abu Sheikh |

Questioner: Is it permissible for a married woman to work in order to sustain herself? Dr Sharof: Is it permissible for a married woman to work in order to make money for herself? Yes, there is no problem about it in as much as her husband cannot provide all her needs. From the rights of the men is to feed their wives. The one who is not capable of marrying should not try it. It is obligatory upon men to provide food, clothing, and shelter for their wives. If a woman will engage in working, it will be on the condition that her husband permits it and he is unable to provide all her needs. If her husband is providing all her needs and she still feels like working, there is no problem if her husband approves of it, and it will be on the condition that she adheres to the laws of Allaah. She must not do a work which has to do with mixing with strange men and she must be modesty dressed. There is no problem about it if she takes care of these obligations. Na’am. *AbU Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) having said this:* Two are the types of the denizens of Hell whom I did not see: people having flogs like the tails of the ox with them and they would be beating people, and the women who would be dressed but appear to be naked, who would be inclined (to evil) and make their husbands incline towards it. Their heads would be like the *humps* of the bukht camel inclined to one side. They will *not* enter Paradise and they would not smell its odour whereas its odour would be smelt from such and such distance Fataawa al-Shaykh Muhamamd ibn ‘Uthaymeen, 2/825. |
