debrief08: Just yesterday we had this same discussion.
Let's not forget us neighbors who will join in the pretence even when we know that our neighbor was not pregnant.
We say its "minding our business" yet we will gossip silently instead of taking action, one day our own child could get stolen and sold to someone else and their neighbor would "mind their business" while we cry and pray for our childs safe return.
I have argued that we should do away with pretence and make surrogacy legal.
The churches are the worst culprits, promising 20000 babies, 70000 babies, instead of being honest with couples and advising them to try medical services God has helped our scientists discover they give them false hope and lead them to desperate measures.
So many church "Miracle babies" are from this source, the honest ones with intergrity do IVF, the others lie, steal and come and do thanksgiving with babies from baby factories and stolen babies, churches get all the glory, more money and more false popularity.
Tell Nigerians to be real and ask questions for where?
Tell our National Assembly to legalise surrogacy they will say "it is not a major issue". I can assure you that for every baby factory that is closed a 100 more is open.

I have never seen a more religious yet lying, pretending and hypocricy full nation.

A year later she came to my office complaining about how her husband will leave her and her baby alone and go clubbing during weekends,sleep with different kinds of club girls.he wont even give her money for baby stuffs, the money he is supposed to use in taking care of the family,he will spend it on club girls.i dont even know the kind of stewpeed man she married as a husband.when she said she complained to the husband,the man said if she is tired of the marriage,she can walk out but when she walks out live the baby because when she enterd the marriage,she didnt come with a child.after all the explanations i said are you done,she said yes and i said you are not even happy he hasnt brought those girls home,if he brought them home,will you beat him.when i told you back then when we were in school,what did you tell me.its your cross,just carry it and dont complain because i have told you.you were whinning i want to marry i want to marry,you did not listen to any advice from any of your friends,you shunned them and said they were jealous of you.good enough your husband has suggested what you should do,if you are tired of the marriage,walk out and please i am busy,i have other urgent things to attend to,we will talk later.come to my house on weekend.

To be frank if i was as desperate as she was and married all the guys that came around me then i most likely will have married an abuser and lived an unfullfilled life.infact i believe my mom now when she says making decisions about marriage is harder than all the degrees you can ever earn in your life,its fragile yet tough.

What more can i say single ladies need to look and look and look deeply before they leap

You can't be happy with anyone, face that fact. You have no regard for any woman even the one that gave you life. Stop making the silly excuses of nairaland thread as the reason for your misery. Nogen: Tell your elder sister Wunmi that she is not fit to bring up that child in the right way. Thirty years time, the child will still see the negative things his mother had done in the past(that is if she agrees to turn a new leaf now) because anytime her name comes up on the computer, it is either she defrauded someone or had not paid her business partners. It is a sad reality. When that boy grows, he will get the truth about her mum himself and he will go in search of his dad.
