osat82: Hello everyone I am a newbie, this forum is just wonderful I have been able to learn a lot from people’s experience dating back to 2010. I applied a couple of weeks ago and was not successful, after going through all the post I don’t blame the embassy for not approving my application. I am planning to apply again and want to make sure I have everything in place. I have narrowed my choice down to hospital of providence el paso and Houston North west, I want to know if anyone has an idea of affordable accommodation close to hospital of providence el paso and Houston North west? Please!!! Hello, there's no custom made answer to your accommodation question o but I will suggest you try this : 1)get a pen and paper, write down the full address of the hospital including the zip code (usually 5 nos) 2)Google short let apartments/accommodation around 12445 (I.e the zip code) you will see options.click on each option to check their address, rates and ratings if any. 3)Open Google maps in a new window and input the address of the hospital to the address of the hotel/accommodation and it will tell you the distance/how many minutes walk/drive/cycling etc. Cheers |

Shamefully he spoke rudely to me when I asked the same Q everyone seemed to be asking. fast forward to my collecting pta the dude came back and told me my agent need re validate my wife's ticket I was stunned a pressed him to explain apparently in his haste. To discredit me he didn't know how to confirm air france flight booking and he didn't want to ask he rather made me feel I was scammed by an elderly agent I immediately called agent up and spoke rudely to him.
He insisted I was wrong and ask I log in myself to my amazement I did and it logged in the dude could not even apologise I just looked @ him and told myself peep like him are sad peeps with sad history.
All he has is stanbic he should learn to treat people politely Chai na my darling darling you dey vex for like this I don't know him from Adam o but he was very nice to me and make sure I was attended to quickly the day I bought. @ Enizo I apologise on his behalf biko Uhmmm POE coming soon |

emeldamicheals: Thanks and keep us posted with any new development as to the PTA. Inform us if they finally allocate the 100k today. As for me, I dey on the PTA matter like craze. My travel date is nxt wk and I still don't have one dollar yet. Lord have mercy.
I can't remember if u were the awesome person that gave us the info last friday because that info was 100% correct. Though, I didn't succeed cos I read the post after close of bank that day. I don't want to miss another opportunity.
I am believing God 4 favour regards to PTA. Sweetie if there is a way; I will suggest you open an account with Stanbic today (if you don't already have),get the account no before end of banking hours today if possible, send the required documents to their BDC email and go to their head office in Lagos a day before your travel date(am hoping u will depart from Lagos airport) they will most likely sell to you. Cheers. @LadyGuinivere Unity is cheaper but the person who helped my mum asked for 80k tip upfront and i asked her to drop 30k despite going back and forth for 3 days. |

Onlineise: Its another Friday tomorrow...the CBN MIGHT sell the usual 100k meant for PTA/BTA to banks as directed by the governor.
My people here is the catch...all banks will get this 100k, however while most of you are busy queuing for FBN, UBA, Stanbic, GTB etc....You forget Sterling, Skye, Unity, Wema...my point is, this smaller banks donot have the queues for FX as much as the big banks have...authoritatively I know 1 of the 4 big banks i mentioned above having close to 800k in PTA demand unmet/outstanding so why join the queue... I think those are the ones actively selling to the Alhaji's through the back door. Union confidently maintains that it's only staff that can buy PTA I wonder why they aren't doing business only with their families too (only in Nigeria) and CBN is looking the other way. GTB won't sell because they want you to use your card and charge black market rate. Ha Stanbic what a life saver, professionalism and good ethics all the way.God will bless them mightily and have decided to move all my accounts there. |

LadyGuinivere you cracked me up but trust me i cried yesterday because of this dollar palaver(hormones) Keystone Bank is selling to account holders(3-6mths) with a turnover of 1m.I didn't qualify Try the banks with low customer base.I intend to travel to Fidelity in Aba today where it's confirmed they have but I must open account (3hrs drive from where I am) Try Unity Bank H/O on Monday there is a possibility but you must be an account holder. I love Gtb but they have nothing to offer and they are thieves even when someone made a deposit in my presence for transfer they still refuse to sell. And to CBN officials, Bank CEOs and Mastercard/Visa merchants that sits to share the loot made from the black market rate charged on hard working pple transactions, sicknesses, diseases and infirmities shall continually be their lot until they stop. |

Good morning my people @phemie1 walai your gist make me sweat small How can you say you are on vacation for 9 weeks Thank God you didn't meet some over zealous CBP's who could have change your reply to misrepresentation of facts because you have documents to buttress the fact that you are there to give birth. Once more we give all praise to God that it ends well. @Onlineise am so sorry about the denial, I know you already blamed yourself for taking that risk of interview but re apply and I pray that it will favourable in Jesus name. |

najalady86: Hello friends. Its been a while. Can see loads of testimonies. May our God's name be continually praised. Pls a quick one. A friend of mine needs answers. She is 22 weeks gone and just had her water break. Doctors have put her on bed rest. But she is worried of the baby's chances of making it and if it's possible to have the baby in the Stares. She has a medical visa already.
Thanks in advance. This is a complex situation o.The best person to advise your friend is her doctor honestly.her doctor has to contact/refer her to a doctor and hospital in the US,get medical insurance, get /inform an airline who is willing to fly her to the U.S with her medical issues is another factor to consider, so she has to figure out all these factors. I pray that the Lord will perfect that which concerns the mother and baby in Jesus name. |

bigfido: Isn't this an ill advice to give someone? Go against your husband and father? What if something happens like an emergency in Elpaso? Will you be there to handle her? Na wa o.. Geez why the over dramatization . I believe the person who asked the question gets what am saying Is it the father or the hubby that will do the VBAC? And moreover she took her time to do research and decide with hubby on where they want to go to before Daddy decided to throw a spanner in her plans although he has good intentions(trying to help them save cost) and hubby doesn't want to offend father in law But based on past information shared here NC is a 'No No' Based on my experience I have men around me with huge egos and likes to have the final say, tears don't work with them and to avoid unnecessary stress and argument I just say Yes Sir and move on and prayerful handles things and after everything He will say you were right, egos intact and all ends well |

emeldamicheals: Hello everyone, Please, has anyone given birth in durham, North carolina or know much about there ot anywhere in north carolina. I am so angry right now. After, I have concluded plans to go to el paso. I hv gotten my dr's letter and even gotten a vbac friendly hospital. My dad decided to suggest to my husband that we go to north carolina because he has a friend there and accomodation, transportation and feeding will be saved. Now, this depends on how much hospital bill is in North carolina and how friendly they are with vbac cos i would prefer not to have a second CS. I cried all through the night cos I hate when my concluded plans are scattered and I have to start afresh. Now, my husband buys my dad's idea. I will be making some new calls today to north carolina to know how much it costs but if u hv any idea or any hospital. Pls, dnt hesitate to share. ALSO, CAN I BUY MY TICKET TO NORTH CAROLINA BUT SHOW THEM MY DR'S CORRESPONDENCE AND HOSPITAL BILLS FOR ELPASO. If yes, would they ask me why I didn't buy my ticket direct to elpaso and what I came to do wherever I landed first. Also, momma's planning to travel nxt month, whats the deal with getting some dollars. SORRY FOR THE LONG POST. I JUST NEEDED TO SHARE MY ANNOYANCE WITH YOU PEOPLE. PROBLEM SHARED IS HALF SOLVED PLUS I HAVEN'T SLEPT SINCE LAST NIGHT MY DAD CALLED TO TELL ME IT MUST BE DURHAM, NC. He likes everyone buying his opinion.... The End. Thanks everyone..... Sweetheart, I hope am crossing any line.wipe your eyes sharply. Don't you know how to smile and nod your head then go ahead with your own plans. Make sure you are in charge of your travel plans and and all monies are in your account even if it's in hubby's account systematically hold the cards. Then jejely port to Elpaso and later handle hubby and daddy with sweet talk. Meanwhile as a story that touch the pocket warning, check Olaideodes post about birthing in North Carolina. Cheers |

I have search few hospital in New York that members here recommended but the only one i was able to get hold of one after hundred of times calling, they responded i would need to make deposit 50% before they would book me (my wife) with a doctor.
Can anyone provide contact details of hospital that has been used previously and not require down payment?
Please this would be much appreciated! Mercy Medical Centre does not require you make a deposit, they also have the option of you using a doctor attached to hospital for $1100.check ewa2014 posts for more details. |

Bimdazzle: I feel you ucystan. Some ppl feel it's funny or makes them popular to belittle others on the thread. If one can be helpful then you should be rather than being sarcastic. I believe most of us are all parents and have common goals. I asked a question on Dallas few days back. Before asking this question I had gone through pages n pages of post without any tangible help on it. Infact @ times I wake @ night scoring the Internet. I have called several doctors without getting really good responses. So to ask the question on the forum and to be laughed off was not really nice . Please let's try as much as possible not to turn to bullies and if you have no response to a post, simply don't comment. In the spirit of honesty and my opinion, this is a stupid statement. If you actually go through pages like you claimed, you would have seen olokings and afrobown2000 posts about Dallas hospitals in this Part 3,both even made it clear that to get Dallas doctors correspendence is almost impossible and had to use other ones and later port to Dallas and finalise on a doctor. I also read here about a nice lady that was in Frisco Dallas, and here you are with loads of expo yet still looking for NAFDAC no |

Kemo88: Hi mums, Happy new year.... How's everyone doing? I have 3 questions 1) please how is LAX ( Los Angeles ) as a point of entry 2) is it true that lagos airport won't let you fly past 32weeks? Is it true that they have an ultra sound scan to check the number of weeks to see if you are lying? 2) please with all these Buhari wahala, where can I get dollars at the cheapest exchange rate.
Thanks... 1)LAX POE is not stressful but still have your necessary doctor's correspondence. 2)To the best of my knowledge its not true. Its the airline that determines that policy; KLM/AF/Delta/BA carries up to 36 weeks but BA does not want multiple pregnancy from 32weeks upwards. The Port Health at the Lagos airport is to further buttress your fit to fly from your doctor in Nigeria and help the airline determine the level of risk/stage of pregnancy for airlines that requires it. 3)Dollar matter no be joke now o but someone said a few pages back that Stanbic is selling in their Lagos head office. All the best and try to rest well o. |
