MrYagi: Hello wonderful Nlanders I am seeking out anyone who has given birth in colombus Ohio.I have searched the thread for mount camel hospital and only one mention was made by beepearl03 in pt2. help with info about surprise bills, Dr etc.Nagode in advance. Also what's the best way to get to Ohio without passing through Houston and Chicagooooooo!
Information about birthing in Ohio here is basically next to zero. I gave birth at Riverside Hospital in Columbus Ohio in 2012.after a 40% discount.hospital bill for mother and baby amount to almost $12000.Obgyn:$3500 including all tests.Epidural $1800 but 35% discount was given. Note: this was a normal delivery no complications,no NICU,2 day stay. In Ohio, most hospitals are under 1 umbrella called Ohiohealth.so do your research very well before you make a final decision.

kaykourage: Hello Good People, Kindly advise and assist with the following:- (1) two years ago, wifey n I had our first child in Wisconsin got visa and entry was smooth no issue. 2 years down d line, we applied via dropbox and visa granted . After this, the following doubts arose hence why I need you guys help:- (1) During the first interview we told them we were going to deliver hence no issue but in filling the DS160 form, we picked b1/b2 and since there is no where to indicate that we are going to have our child, thinking is it s must to write a letter of intent to the embassy to inform them about this? Or there is no need? Going to Houston for the first Time and I heard the POE can be funny sometimes especially if your intent isn't clear, pls advise (2) Has anybody been in this situation before, if yes, what do u advise? [3] Can anybody assist with sample copy of similar email sent to the embassy in respect of this? (4) Also, we are using Oakbend hospital for Richmond, can anybody give referrals of concierge services or flats or apartment we can rent or use? What has been your experience with Doctor Ziworitin and his team? (5) Is it also a must to write or inform the embassy if your destination is changing? In our form we cchoose Wisconsin but host has relocated hence the change to Texas, is this a challenge as well? Please I will appreciate Ffirst hand information regarding my questions. Thanks and God bless. In my own case,I had a baby in Ohio in 2012, embassy was aware too at interview,1st renewal (interview)after birth was easy no receipts was asked.2nd renewal(dropbox) no issues as well. 1)It's not a must to write intent,I did but didn't print out the response sef. Fast forward 2016. POE:flew with BA,JFK supposed to be my POE but was changed to North Carolina because of flight delay.was sent to secondary inspection and all the CBP wants to see is the receipts for the birth in 2012.I had everything with me.kindly go read POE in part 3 of this thread. 2)Have all the necessary documents with you:Dr correspondence, hospital details, budget sheet,lots/proof of cash to show you can afford the service. 3)A copy is also on this thread as well.read from Part 1. 4)I didn't use Oakbend,I gave birth to my twins in California but a lot of mamas have and they have shared all the necessary information here too.Read again 5)It's not a challenge but be ready to answer all questions honestly and with confidence. Furthermore,do yourself a favour, get a jotter and pen and read from Part 1. Good luck |

Labbycutie: I just joined nairaland and i have been reading a lot, this thread as given me hope again. I am 32weeks pregnant and am already in the U.S in my sister's place in California. Got in about 2weeks ago and i have been trying to get a very reasonable hospital, but everyone around here are asking for my arm and leg. Starting from 15,000 and above for the hospital bill and the OB. Been so worried, until i spoke to a friend who told me to go on nairaland and register, which i did and i thank God. I have been reading since then and came across a post from Cutelass saying she is also in California and her hospital bill and OB is less than 5000. Awwwwwwwww please i really need ur help, I stay in Vacaville, 7hrs away from St Francis hospital, please how do i get to contact you. So u can put me tru on what to do. Thank u 7hrs mbok What information do you need? |

Varvara: That's great! Congratulations! Is it Los Angeles? How did you get your correspond letter? Through Hospital or Dr? Could you explain more with detail about contract before delivery? Thank you a lot. Relax and sleep more Yes it's Los Angeles. You get it through the Dr office when you call. You can only sign the contract after your first Dr appointment where you will be given some paperwork, thereafter you head to the hospital to pay and sign the self pay contract. |

@cutelass A big congratulations to you and family and praises to God for his goodness and mercy over you. Dr Mbag** is da bomb and his assistant Blanca baby is a God sent as well. took me for a scan (over 30 mins drive) without collecting a dime Had a great time at St Francis as well.bills is same for singleton and twin delivery as well.after I was discharged the nurse on duty loaded me with 3 bags of freebies(diapers, wipes, baby food, etc).I noticed that they are not quick to send babies to NICU because some hospitals neva see you they are already reciting NICU . Had a great time in LA but the only iissh is accommodation but I was able to find a good one that I used. |

Imo007: If you want to use airbnb, ensure you tell your host you are pregnant and will have a baby at the latter end of your stay. I used airbnb on my first missionary journey and they host midstay started saying how she doesn't like children in her apartment. Its usually stated in the listing if it's family/kid friendly or not.just the way you check for washer/dryer,bathroom essentials, etc |

XX01: 36 weeks is risky? When would be a good time? We all learn every day. Seen Olokings posts. Will read up, thanks. Travel from at least 32-34weeks because the Dr needs to familiarise himself with your case file i.e your vitals (BP,position and size of the baby, etc) runs some tests from which both of you will reach a decision tailor made for your overall health. If you travel at 36 weeks i think the timeframe is too small for them to get know you enough to try VBAC. Preggies who do that gangster moves by travelling at 36 weeks usually have an uncomplicated singleton pregnancy with a clear option of VD or CS. Cheers |

XX01: Please guys, I want to ask a "very stupid question" . Which should come first, doctor then hospital or hospital then doctor? Should I look for a cheap hospital then search for a doctor or vice versa? For VBAC, it seems like it's not so easy to find VBAC doctors that will take me at 36 weeks. I need answers from those that are more experienced. I appreciate. Click on Olokings posts for VBAC Drs in Dallas. @bolded even me dats not a nurse sef won't accept you as a patient You want the Dr to lose his/her license ni.#unnecessary risk |

bubelahot: Please mamas in the house. How do you take your newborn home...Do you use a carseat\ stroller or you use the baby sling. Which one is more convinent especially if your traveling back to Nigeria alone. Used baby sling because if baby decides not to sleep in the bassinet and mommy wants to doze as well make pikin no go fall for person hand, you will also able to eat comfortably, carry hand luggage with ease too. |

Nnystc: Sister, Pls share pointers pls o! For my 2 babies born in Calif, i didnt get my papers in 3 weeks! Fastest was 5 weeks. (After using express birth cert and express passport and express visa at Naija embassy NY). I'm having another one soon and i really could use the tip! I have to be back home ASAP.
Thanks in advance. To type this days na work #life of a twin mama Gave birth at St Francis in Lynwood. Paid $15 at hospital to expedite the BC. Thursday:Filled forms online for naija passports. Friday: Picked 2 copies each of BC from Vital Stat Office Bought money order($77 and $30) @ the post office.sent the $77 money order to Innovate1 services. Saturday:bought infant tickets for the babies at the airport.called the US passport agency line to book an appointment for Monday. Took the babies to Walgreens to take passport photos(2 set-1 set for US,2nd for naija) Monday:Innovate1 confirmed the money order, printed the receipt and acknowledgement page. Went to US passport appointment (infant ticket is a complusory requirement o)their office at Wilshire Blvd, paid for expedited and was told to pickup 2 days later. **Booked a red eye flight to Washington(depart on Wednesday night by 10pm,arrived DC 8am on Thursday, head straight to the embassy, paid extra $85 for each baby for same day collection.finished by 1pm.travelled back to LA by 5pm.got home 10pm Thursday evening. Note:Hubby is not interested in mailing US passport for visa and ETC is almost $1000 for 2 babies with postage(and just for 7 days). LA is far from all the embassies because when you take normal morning flight you will arrive from 3pm and you won't be able to do anything that day that's the reason for red eye flight. |
