SojWORLDWIDE:
If I were President of Nigeria at this time when the country is bitterly divided as a result of the #NigerianElections2023 and the removal of fuel subsidy, as well as the flotation of the Naira, I would not take my children on an official business trip overseas.

The only reason I would not do that is because the optics would look bad, and I would be playing into the hands of my political opponents and hostile media, which have taken a business decision to oppose my administration to appease their base in preparation for the next election.

.
And that ladies and gentlemen is why Reno cannot be taken seriously

Not because the cost of governance should be cut down but because of optics

PoliticsHow Many Curses Await Buhari Supporters For 8 Years by BitterTruth01(op): 11:03pm On Mar 02, 2024
With the recent happenings in Nigeria , the insecurity , the near famine, hyperinflation , astronomical debt profile
, it is obvious that all these did not start in this administration . These started to fester during the last administration

What about the corruption ? It was a virtually a free for all A recent report just highlighted how two individuals stole $14 billion .
$14 billion shocked

Meanwhile while all these was happening , there were some nairalanders who continually came here to praise Buhari , one of them even became notorious for a dumb catchphrase for the buffoon: Our darling daddy

What about others like seunmsg, omenka, Sarki and all the other praise mongers who also double as attack dogs for the castastrophic administration

What punishments and generational curses awaits these people or they just innocent victims as well ?

What do you think ?

PoliticsRe: Nigerians, Profer A Solution To Our Nation's Current Challenges by BitterTruth01: 3:58am On Feb 22, 2024
Just two things

Security first

They need to mobilize at least 1 million new olice men . Half of them to be state and community police from the local indigenes .
Set up independent arbitration panels to act as oversight board over the state and community police to checkmate their excesses. The panels should consist of members of civil society organizations, NBA, etc

Secondly fix the power sector . Build more thermal plants and allow the states to generate their own electricity direct from the gas reources in their land . Also give out more licences for private power plants

After these two , watch and see how the citizens develop the country by themselves

Your entire point is right, except dignifying Tinubu. He is as bad as Buhari in ineptness and twice as bad in financial crimes and corruption.

You people have no idea the development status privileges that Lagos state always had as a previous nation's capital and commercial hotspot to say the least. Tinubu as a Lagos State governor took a shine off these privileges so mich that it hid his poor leadership performance despite the stealings.

Tinubu did not do 5% of Jakande's work in building Lagos, only kids and brainwashed people that don't know history will deprive Jakanda the honors of the builder of Lagos in favor of Tinubu.
Well I did compare him to the other governors .

Rewind to 2014

In a bid to unseat the seemingly invincible PDP from the seat of power in the forthcoming elections, a Nigerian political leader and master strategist of almost legendary status who was best performing governor of Africas most largest state with an enviable record of achievements devised a plan: form an alliance with another revered political figure from the north of the country and merge their two respective followers/parties.

The plan seemed like a master stroke . The two heavyweights combined would create a tsunami effect that would pull in influential political figures from across the country. Combined with the strong showings of the northern leader in previous elections , these new arrangement could just tip the ruling party over .

However there was one issue : the leader from the north
This man from the north had ruled the country before after taking over in a military coup
During his short reign , the country witnessed the most oppressive period in its history . There were floggings, kidnappings, arbitrary arrests and detentions .
His absolute disregard for the rule of law and insitutions of state are well documented as he ruled with an iron hand. His economic policies were a complete shambles and left the country reeling to the dismay of international development institutions.
On top of that, the man was a known religious and ethnic-centric bigot. His application of justice was selective and favoured his northern kinsmen
After he left office , he was recorded to have openly advocated for the spread of sharia law across the country . Later on, the 4th most vicious terrorist group in the world BOKO HARAM , appointed him to negotiate with the government on their behalf . Tho he declined , ostensibly to preserve a political image

The leader from the southwest knew all this .
He knew d northern guy was bad at governance
He knew the guy was an ethnic bigot
He knew the guy was a religious bigot
He knew the guy would spell economic disaster
He knew the guy’s disregard for the rule of law
He knew , he knew , he knew

But
He went ahead with the plans .
This leader from the southwest whose record as governor was synonymous with excellence, the only one who actually deserved the title of His Excellency among his then peers. Yea this same man went ahead and arranged for the worst possible choice of a person to be president .
He went against his personal beliefs and sense of duty and everything he stood for and achieved just to align with this guy and win an election at the detriment of 250 million people

The rest is history

In a way, I’m glad that Tinubu took over from Buhari. Cos it would not have been fair for another person to be on that seat right now trying to pick up the pieces of the train wreck that is Nigeria rn.
Even if somehow he manages to right the ship , his responsibilities right are not enviable. Anybody can talk and advise . This state of affairs had been coming from the moment the former disaster assumed office in 2015.
Going by his records as governor, the man is clearly an achiever and a performer, plus he recognizes the expectations of him from across Nigeria . A leopard cannot change his spots. The same drive that motivated his as governor still motivates him today . That is why he will be having sleepless nights upon sleepless nights right now at his age trying to fix the ship that he helped to destroy . And that is a punishment that you should not wish an anybody. But it is KARMA

Even if he returns Nigeria back to what it was in 2015, you can say it’s a huge progress , but is it really an achievement? If you destroy a house and then rebuild exactly the same house , did you make progress or are you back to square one ?

He cannot fix Nigeria in 4 years. Election is just 3 years away. If he wins re-election in 2027 , he migh fix it in the next 4 years. So by 2031 , Nigeria might be back to 2015 levels. That means we lost 16 years . 2015-2031 were the wasted years
Car TalkRe: My Neighbour Jacked Up My Car by BitterTruth01: 8:35pm On Feb 16, 2024
Missowombo:
Dear Family landers. I am here to seek your advice on how to rescue my car from my neighbour.

I bought a car, direct from abroad, a very clean and sweet ride, and registered in September, 2023 (5months ago). However, due to the high fuel consumption( V6, 3.5l engine) and the ever unstable fuel price today, I decided to put it up for sale to get a smaller engine capacity. A neighbour expressed interest in buying the car and decided to pay in installment which I agreed. I was also searching for a replacement at this time hoping to use the money realized from the sales to get my preferred ride. My preferred ride prices were shockingly high such that even if I doubled the price I gave to my neighbour it will still not be enough to buy the new ride. Prices rise by the hour these days in Nigeria and I have no hand in this crisis. I returned to my neighbour to inform him that I will not be selling the car anymore due to the present crises in prices of goods in the country. I apologized profusely for every inconvenience and transferred his money back to him. He got angry and said that I must submit the car key and documents to him. He even threatened to send his community and area boys to beat me up and extract the above items.

I came back from work to see my car jacked up, surrounded by 2 other vehicles to prevent the car's exit. For the records, there is no written or signed agreement between him and I concerning this sale. I refunded all his money 1 day after he paid his last installment and kept back my car. I have no hand in Nigeria's current problems. I am pushed to use force here but I am thinking that some initial peaceful resolution could be an option.

With Islam it’s backward ever forward never. I’m

I wonder if Awolowo went to his grave full of regret for his actions and stance during the civil war.

The only way forward I this country is for the Christians in Nigeria to unite and defend against these people . Christians across the middle belt, south east , SS. Christians scattered around the north as well . We need to stand strong .

I can’t really rely on yoruba Christians. I’m not sure where they stand . They’re in bed with yoruba Muslims.
