Did you get the book from British Council? The CD has some practice. Practice the listening and note that iff you miss one,, no point thinking about it, just move on. The sample for speaking is available on youtube. The written is scattered over the internet. IELTS buddy us a good website to practice too. I used the topics on there to practice my speaking with someone that has superior verbal aptitude to mine

best of luck

[quote author=Cribking1 post=41152014]I am just scared that it might look like falsification of information. I have gathered the duties of Forester from ANZCO and can easily approach my employer to restructure the reference letter to include the relevant duties, but I am somewhat reluctant considering the fact that I am still going back to the same VETASSESS for reassessment.

keep those old "not related" duties on your CV and reference letter Cribking1
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by bjayzeez: 7:14pm On Dec 16, 2015
i dont know if its too lte now, but google ANZCO Forestry and use their job descripytion from there. You vcan also check the job description for a foreseter from HRSDC ....

What I'd suggest is to keep those old "not related" duties on your CV and reference letter, and add the ones from ANZCO.

Of course, youd have to mix things up!

Cribking1:
Thank you for your response to my message. According to Vetassess, my qualification is positively assessed and in line with my chosen occupation(Forester), but I was given a negative outcome because the duties performed in my current work are not related to that of Forestry. Their decision is weird!

Dear all,

I'm new to the thread. I had read some post and follow up some answers, but non of them is specific to my need. I'm already 30, without a tertiary education degree. Can I secure a student visa to Australia for undergraduate program. Do I stand a chance or it is already to late for me?
Still have the strong urge to study and I have saved up some funds to sponsor myself. Suggestions will be appreciated.

Yea slow and steady wins d race. Nope, heading for Melbourne. Planned to move this month, but IOM Australia said early August is fully booked, let alone July. Still waiting on Abikoye, but not expecting anything new.

Thinking Ethiopian airline to Malaysia, which cost N272k for a family of 3. There are really no flights to Singapore via Ethiopian airline. Unfortunately Jetstar will move before we arrive in Malaysia and takes 14hrs going thru Perth. Airasia will cost N154k with no add ons and move 4hrs after we arrive and its duration is 7hrs 30mins direct flight to Melbourne. But remember d Airasia saga... LOL.

What do u think?
I think it's a very reasonable itinerary ..... Just remember to tell your pastor looooool. Even me avoided a flight thru Bali. But you can't really protect yourself... Just pray.
Have you tried booking with multiple destinations?

Guy aw far na, hope u've settled in well now in SA?

Pls aw was ur "on the ground" and in-flight experience with Jetstar?
Settling is a gradual process... Slow but steady .... Keeping all senses (not just eyes) on job agencies websites. Done most of my registrations tho... Just applications

Jetstar ... Is a relatively cheap airline, and as you will guess ... It's pretty much standard, nothing extraordinary. No inflight entertainment, and you'd have to buy your food too lol....the staff are generally nice people and they have good customer relations skills.

You coming to SA? When do you intend to.

What if you just wait a bit, and apply in December ... That way, you can arrange for payslip or get your company to pay in cheque or whatever means.... Meanwhile, with cheque, I'd guess you'd need evidence of tax payment
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by bjayzeez: 6:37am On Jun 26, 2015
i dont know too much about the students and financing

I know people usually get by... if they have like a full years fee and enough money for accommodation and feeding for 3-6 months. You can get non professional jobs that youd work for 20 hours/week term time, and 40+ during the semester breaks, you can do the math @ averahe of $20/ hour .... remember theres a tax man sha. The more funds you have from home, the less stress youd give yourself

people here can advise you on SVP Visas, you can read it up too

accommodation is give/take 150 per week... feeding and other misc depends on your waka

http://www.gsa.org.au/careers.html ..............have a look at the unis....

and yes hydrology is quite a big deal here

cabayes:
Thanks for the response. I think I'll look else where. Most of the courses are 30k annually or 4.6million naira . That's half more than half of my
budget. Then how much do I budget for accommodation + feeding annually?? The remaining 3million naira?? And are you giving me the hope that I can work to meet up with the expenses of the 2Nd year or I request for additional funds after the first year?

I'm looking at Flinder university MSC hydrology.I would be grateful if you judge me if I'm not up to the task
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by bjayzeez: 1:26am On Jun 26, 2015
First advice is to look for a uni that would pffer you a 2 year program.... That's how you can proceed to the graduate visa. Another option is to apply for another program after your masters.

Try curtin uni, I think newcastle, uwa, unsw...etc, depending on what option you wNt.

In m opinion, 7 m should be good to start with, but prepare to work when you arrive Au.

Best of luck

cabayes:
Pls I need advise on the following questions. I have been reading the part 1 of this thread and the link to the immigration rules and I realised that the finances has been the limitation of most unsuccessful applicants. As for me I need to be clarified on the possibilities of getting a post study visa after an MSC in Australia with a one year course?

1 . will a budget of 7million naira be enough to cover all expenses + living expenses for a one year masters in geology?

2.what are my chances of switching to a work visa after my studies ?
I would gladly appreciate any response that would be crucial to my decision to look else where.

So, anyone flying through Singapore should not forget to pick up a fresh boarding pass once you get to Singapore. Else if you stroll to the boarding gate, you will be asked to go get it and stand a great chance of missing your flight. Just a tip. I'm stuck in changi for 20 hours

So IPA is a better deal yea? Do you know if they need to submit employment experience as well, or can an assessment of qualifications alone be done? Someone I know wants to start the process. He doeant have ICAN tho, but has a Masters degree in Finance...BSc Accounting.
They have 2 different packages. One for qualifications the other for employment. But I think it's better to assess both... At least that's what I'd do if it was me . Follow this link ... https://www.publicaccountants.org.au/about-us/immigration/what-is-a-qualifications-assessment

And remember at least 7.0 band in each module of academic ielts.

Congrats, if you have scaled the assessment stage, the rest is almost assured. I was told this a while ago, but I didn't believe until I experimented it myself, then others here can attest to that..... Best of luck, and get ready for the longest wait of yur life

Secondly, the character evidence is your PCC... Scan and upload in colour. Well, they say it's not necessary to certify, but hey, I certified everything... Since I did the same for the assessing body, and used virtually the same documents... For the medicalised, they say you should wait for your CO to contact you, butfromthis thread, I realized, if youre sure of your claims, you can go ahead with the meds. Call fatoyinbo Williams, and they will ask you a question on some number on your application acknowledgent... It's not an elaborate process. No need to upload anything, fatwa yi will sort that out.

3rdly Omooba2015, pls take your time to read the immi website, not just read, but understand. There's a lot of info on the page, but you can easily sieve yours out. Also, less than 10 pages back, there was a useful post on the breakdown on what to do and how to do it if you want to migrate to Aussie.

ohioilserve:
WHEW!!!! Hello guys virtue just went out of me! I just submitted n paid for 189 for me and my family.....pray for us!
On the document upload, I have a few question
The documents have to b certified before scanning n uploading?its not so clear in the website, first it says d docs shld be scanned and the next sentence says d provided docs have to be certified. I have always thot that you only certify when hard copies are been sent. ( Doesn't make sense to me that you certify and then scan)

The upload section has Health,Evidence of....is dat the almighty medicals? Another place in the site says if you are applying from outside, you have to wait till requested before you go for medicals.abeg how much does medicals cost for 2 adults and a baby? Have tried to enquire from them on phone at Fatayi and they were asking for my something something number before they can give me an estimate
Also, the upload section has Character Evidence of.....is this the police certificate? Tot you also will have to be directed by your CO to go for it?

Bosslady, Fedriko,NNBB2012 et al abeg respond....God bless you all.

A Nigerian who lived like a king and rubbed shoulders with the royalty in Australia as been sentenced to jail after it was discovered that he ran a drug and crime syndicate.

A well respected Nigerian business man who is also the Eze Ndigbo of Australia, Chief Maximus Osuamadi, has been jailed by Sydney court for being the brain behind some high profile crimes and running a drug cartel syndicate which operates between Nigeria, China, Brazil and other Asian countries.
According to the Telegraph UK, the Nigerian community leader was actually the boss of a well run West African crime syndicate, before he was busted by underground cops.
In a special report carried out by the newspaper, Chief Osuamadi was a highly successful businessman and respected community leader of Sydney’s growing Nigerian community.
Read the report here:
"The Chief, as he liked to be known, drove a Mercedes-Benz and was deeply involved in local issues in western Sydney, meeting local politicians such as former premier Morris Iemma and senior police officers.
But in reality Chief Maximus was the boss of a West African crime syndicate which some police likened to the black Mafia of Sydney with the Chief, a man living a double life as family man and businessman, frequently needing to travel to China and Nigeria, as its Godfather.
In 2010, Strike Force Bellevue was set up and 11 people were arrested after undercover operatives infiltrated the syndicate.
'It was a secret criminal society in this city and beyond, which contributed significantly to the illegal drug supply in the Sydney metropolitan area,' said Detective Superintendent Nicholas Bingham, Drug Squad Commanderat the time.

They had no criminal records and really were an unknown criminal element.
On Friday in Parramatta District court, Osuamadi was sentenced to six years’ jail for supplying a commercial quantity of methamphetamine during an undercover operation in Auburn Botanical Gardens and in a series of secretly taped conversations.

When arrested at his Granville home, he remained indignant. He said was of royal blood with ties to some of NSW’s leading politicians, the local police and even the commissioner, he told police.

'Everybody in Granville knows me, the police there and the local politicians. I am an identity. I am Chief of the Igbo (Nigerian) community and people call me Chief Maximus. I don’t know if you know about the African tradition of royalty. We trace our royalty back to the Queen Sheeba of Israel.'
Maximus owned a string of businesses including an African grocery store, hair salon, a limousine company, Internet cafe and a Western Union money transfer franchise but said many of them had collapsed.
However, police said it was all a front for his drug business, which helped pay for his lavish lifestyle.
Born in Nigeria, the 49-year-old was raised in the Vatican where he was studying to become a priest before dropping out. He arrived in Australia in 1988 and became a citizen in 1990.
It is known to investigators that members of the syndicate and the accused are involved in the supply of methamphetamine and have access to false identification and passports.
The lengthy closed court trial heard evidence that Osuamadi, a male co-accused and an undercover officer, had a conversation where the Chief had said he was planning to travel to China to organise heroin smuggling.
Chief Maximus’s trial was held in closed court because evidence by undercover police and their methods in cracking the syndicate were heard in camera.
Drug Squad Investigation Co-ordinator, Detective Inspector Jason Smith said the police were confronted with a criminal group of which people had very little knowledge.
'West African organised crime syndicates had not previously been the subject of a dedicated criminal investigation by an Australian law enforcement agency."

Please my people, let's strive to revive the image of Nigeria... It is bad enough as it is... See this man spoiling our beautiful Australia. Let's not bring down the ladder for the people coming behind.

So help me/us God
