chyz: I feel that but you gotta look at it this way. GJ has showed no signs of leadership, he as a president allowed an organization(FIFA) to run his country and tell him what he could and could not do. Since he entered presidency he has not done anything for we the niger-deltans or Igbos. He appointed all of the top shops to northerners and he's basically took almost all of the Igbos out of the Public Eye.Has you ever asked yourself why he gave himself the minister of power then later on turn it around and give it to an Igbo person. What stopped him from giving it to the guy all along? It seems like hes already set up what he needed to to loot money and possibly use the Igbo guy as a deflection. He's been really shady lately and has only made moves such as sacks to save his tail.He honored all of the most corrupt people in nigeria and dines with them.
GJ has no track record, although im not saying I wouldnt support him but time is running out and he's had nothing to show for it. Also, with the new state promise if it is true that he will be announcing them on Oct.1st, independence day and he makes Anioma State, its good for the Igbos, but most will only see it as him doing that to gain Igbo votes and he will not get my vote. Believe me were not choosing IBB at this moment to still leave room for jonathan to prove himself. As for as military rule in nigeria that IBB had before, he cant try it .every part of the country will fight the army men and try to kill IBB.He has no choice but to work under a democracy.
As far as trust GJ has lost the trust of the igbos. He seems like a snake theres an saying that Africans have "I'd rather live with a murderer than a thief because at least you know what to expect from the murderer". Although IBB is a thief as GJ, The thief(GJ) and the murderer(IBB). Chyz, Ive never said u should vote in President Jonathan in 2011, all I'm saying is why are the Ibos intent on voting a known despot in hopes that the Yoruabs would somehow be hurt in the process? My take on the issue? Vote a credible person regardless of race, religion or tribal affiliation! |

Beaf: Chyz is Igbo.
In every discuss we have had on NL, Igbo's have cut themselves away from Niger Delta people and it is a hard battle to keep pointing out that our interests are the same. Infact, it is quite common to hear Igbo's say they will open the gates to wipe out Niger Deltans if they rise up. You just need to go back to Ezeuche's and Chyz's previous posts (along with that of a few others) to prove this! Beaf: We generate the money in the country and should looking at ourselves as kingmakers too. . Exactly! Why cant they be allowed to keep whatever money is made from their land instead of having to split it with the rest of the Nation? Let the rest of the country generate their own funds, that'll solve a lot of the problems you have in Nigeria! |
Politics › Re: Babangida : The Igbos Must Rule In 2015 by bkbabe97y(m): 6:30am On Aug 23, 2010 |
chyz: Sad to say it it is like that on both sides Nigerians are not to soley be blamed for it who says yoruba wanted to be in a country with hausa, igbo, ijaw, edo and vise versa?None. It was not their works. Igbos arent gathering against jonathan because he is ijo.theres never been a whole Igbo vs. a whole Ijo thing ever. We have each other's blood running in our vains. About Adaka Boro, honestly most Igbos dont know about him so there is no way they are judging whether to vote for GJ on him. However the yorubas are the ones using that type of sentiment on IBB, and boldly doing it and so early which is not a good move. Also I dont know why you think Igbos are out to screw the Yorubas. Im telling you the flat out truth, all jokes aside, the Igbos do not worry about or base anything off of the yoruba. We just dont. What for? Are they the ones screaming for a fair share in nigeria or Oduduwa Republic as the Igbos are screaming for a fair share in nigeria or Biafra Republic?
Also, Nigeria as a whole, i dont know when the last time youve been to nigeria, regardless of tribe agree that the Igbo are a huge contribution to the progress of nigeria so i dont no where you got you info from.i mean is even in nigeria newspapers u can go look it up and u'll see lots of articles to prove my fact. It is a none fact that Elite fear those who speak truth to power, that is how the Igbo are.Even the british saw that as a problem with conquering the Igbos and they even said it themselves. Thats is a fact. It seems more like your taking the Becomerich route and flipping things upside down when you know really what u wrote is what the Igbos are going through and not the yorubas, as far as what YOU wrote. The yorubas are suffering too as well. As long as Nigeria is crooked and the way it is non-elite which is we the majority will suffer.
Igbos are known to vote for other tribes other that his we've proved that many times. Name a time when yorubas voted for a non-yoruba, and im talking about as a group? Name a Yoruba aspirant that had better credentials than an Igbo aspirant and the Igbos voted instead for the Igbo aspirant, can u name it? and if so go ahead lets see, Well, I'll say your posts r full of contradictions like Beaf said. I've seen numerous times where "you" (meaning also others of your tribal group i.e EzeUche) boldy supported exterminating the Ijaws people or raised tribal bias against the Yorubas. I usually figured, based on some of your later posts, that you didnt really mean what u posted and that (like some of us on here) you were just trying to rile up people jokingly. I am not trying to flip nothing like Becomrich, all I'm doing is stating the truth as they seem to me. What I dont understand is why the Ibos would play "destroyer" just because. . . . . Chyz, the real problem of Nigeria, as I see it, is not the Ibos, Yorubas, or any other of the minor groups. The main problem of your country are the selfish, maniacal elite, and to a larger extent, the Hausas! Why cant the Ibos forget about the past (hard to do, I know) and forge an alliance with the Yorubas and other progressives instead of thinking everyone is against them? Why cant they come together with others (like Mr Obasanjo) and knock the Hausas outta the choke-hold they got over the nation? Trust me, Yall got a better chance of eventually ensuring that theres a future Biafra when you form an alliance with the Yorubas than siding with the Hausas. Thats just what I see. Its clear that the Hausas are intent on running Nigeria till Christ comes back (and even after then), the Hausa influence is waning, they are on the ropes, they are in disarray, eveyone has seen through them and nobody is willing to let them back in power; they are more desperate than a Saint that was mistakenly sentenced to hell fire. The Ibos are probably the most educated group (along with the Yorubas) in the whole of Nigeria, so, why then should they always acquiesce to the pressures/deceits of a bunch of ignorant, illiterate and blood thirsty desert dwellers all in the name of exacting revenge on their perceived enemies? The Hausas use them to fight the Ijaws, they use them to fight the Yorubas, then when the Ibos are done doing the biddings of those damn pseudo Arab's , they are dumped!!! The Hausas then turn around and become friends with the same Yorubas and Ijaws, share stolen loot and top government posts with them and then relegate the Ibos to the background. Who is worse off in the end? The Ibos! Then the other groups remember that the Ibos were treacherous to them . . . round and round, a freaking sad cycle. If IBB is sincere, why doesnt he "support" an Ibo man for President right now? Why, arent there charismatic, well intentioned, visionary young Ibo men that can mount the saddle of leadership right now? He's an "Elder states man" why cant he assume that role instead of fighting to return to power? The Hausas are clearly used to the rule of divide and conquer (succesfully), they turn the Ibos against the rest of Nigeria whenever they want to achieve their aims and it seems the Ibos, too bitter about the past to see clearly, always seem to fall for their games. I'm not saying the other groups are angels, all I'm saying is the Ibos should look past the past, and into the future, to ensure a stronger Ibo nation. P.S: I'm not Nigerian, Ive never been there, I have no intention to, no reason whatsoever. . . . I love Nigerians, I see a lot of prospects in that Nation and I dont understand how a country so rich with all its natural and human resources, a nation full of intelligent people, will allow the most imbecili of its lot to be in charge of its affairs. To say I'm astonished is to say the least of my surprise at that nation. . . . |

chyz: The Igbos dont care about what the yorubas do as long as it doesnt concern them. Thats just how it is. Even nairaland is an example of it.Igbos will not comment on a topic that concerns yoruba issue, why because we dont care, that is their business. However, the yorubas will come and always want to be apart of igbo issues and comment.Thats just a fact. Whether horrible or not if war has to come it will come there is no two ways about it. If the North says "No" remember that the Igbo has no king.
Now lets cut the bull here, since you think Igbos should vote for GJ,which is obvious cuz we all know they are the contenders, why do you feel that way and how do you think its going to help the Igbo come 2011, 2015 and so forth? Chyz, I dont think the Ibos should vote for the incumbent! What I think the Ibos should do is vote for the right, most credible person on the ballot! I think the Ibos (like the tribalists we encounter on here everyday) should do away with sentiments. Why would you say "Oh, man, we voting for IBB just to piss the Ijaws off cause of Adaki Boro"? Or, ". . . the Yorubas are traitors, and even though we know this Yoruba Presidential aspirant is more credible we wont vote for him just to spite the whole Yorubas"?. With such statements and outlook in life its no surprise that the rest of Nigeria views the Ibos with, not just suspicion, but also as a group intent on impeding the progress of the country. Instead of thinking what will "help" the Ibos, why cant you think of what will help your whole country? Thats what honestly confuses me about not just the Ibos, but also, the whole of Nigeria! |

If GJ stays president until 2015 then the northerners say its theres the igbos wont allow it and the country will be dismantled. If IBB wins theres room to work things out. Lol, Chyz, come on now, even u dont believe this paragraph u put up there! lol. Ibos will insist on being President in '15 and if the North says "No" the Ibos will "dismantle" the country?!!? lol. From my understanding, I'll tell you that the reason there hasnt been an Ibo president is because they lack tact, finesse, and conviction. They NEVER put their " own" forward [to run for office] and always seem content in playing destroyer; this always comes back to bite them in the rear. It seems to me they always want to go the "Opposite" of whatever way the Yorubas will vote; forgetting that in the end the Yorubas and the Hausas are still allies with a common goal. That common goal being; "staying in charge of the country and making sure the Ibos never rise to relevance". They so desperately try to partner up with the Hausas, not to forge a strong alliance, but hoping that in doing so harm willl come about to the Yoruba nation. Talk about cutting your nose to spite your face. . . . . . |
