I'm concerned because you guys, collectively, have an inferiority complex. If what you people come online to do is representative of the Igbo psyche, then there's a problem. Seriously, no other tribe is like this on Nairaland.

Take the Igbo-bashing a lot of you were whining about few weeks ago, most of those guys most times do that stuff just for sport. There are very few real 'hate-mongers' here on Nairaland, but when you guys keep on and on like in this thread for example, someone like me will be tempted into goading you people cause you're so predictable & reactionary.

You need to grow up, mostly. & the old men doing this with you need to get a life.

Sorry to have offended your perception of your people.
Sorry, not "MY" people!At least, not in that sense. But I love all black people, so I guess we're good. lol. I just started taking their side. . . well, more like agreeing with them when I realized some of the Ibos on here (Ezeuche, Eziachi, Wilywily, Mentalgong, onlyLies etc), and in real life, were nothing but cry babies who blamed the Yorubas for all the problems in their lives. . . .

KenGali:
In 1966, while the east was looking for a way out of the unfortunate coup and prevent the north from dominance. Your people unexpectedly cashed in on the situation due to economically beneficial position of being the sought bride. If you remember, a son of your was sent to lead the charge into your region, so as not to alarm you, but when your elders got threatened that Britain will attack Lagos, they asked him to give up.
If the Yoruba elders asked "him" to give up, why didnt he remain in Yoruba land instead of returning to Biafra?!? Dude, if we're to discuss in a civil manner, I'd appreciate going with facts and not "I heard Big Momma say. . . ". I heard numerous tales, from YOUR people, about why the invasion of Lagos failed, I went and read about it in order to gain my own perspective and guess what? Most of what YOUR people were spewing on here (such as you are doing now) were falsities! Without delving into discussions that are bound to go nowhere about why YOUR people decided to "shift blame" by  murdering Victor Banjo or sending Ifeajuna to his death, I'll tell u this: I'll rather go with historians than "Big Momma" on this one!

KenGali:
@bk.babe97y
In 1966, while the east was looking for a way out of the unfortunate coup and prevent the north from dominance. Your people unexpectedly cashed in on the situation due to economically beneficial position of being the sought bride. You gained an enviable control over the economic resources. One that even the north is still regretting today. It was all about your interest, not the right or the wrong and I hold no grudge mind you. But, nothing goes for nothing you know.
Lets say the shoe was on the other foot what would the Ibos have done? Not to diss your people, but I've known them for almost 24 yrs of my life, and I can tell u I believe they'd have done worse to the Yorubas; thats how vicious I believe they are (just like u said "its not about hate. . . " its just what ive observed over the years)!!! Dude, in war its all fair! YOUR people knew that. Remember, YOU started all the crap that led to the pogroms and subsequent destabilization of the Union so dont come here playing innocent, thats what riles me up about YOUR people. YOUR people always want to play "destroyer" forgetting that politics is a game of smarts not brawn. When brawn gets involved means theres an ongoing civil war/violence; YOU should know that all too well!

   YOUR Ikemba has selected Gen.IBB for your nation, for Ibos, and even re-christened him by giving him a Ibo name. What do u call that? Is that not "interests"? Is he not aiming for the betterment of the Ibo nation? Except you're trying to tell me that "YOU KNOW" in YOUR hearts (but are reluctant to say it) that Ojukwu is working for his own selfish benefit, then I dont know what to tell YOU as I dont see why YOU would love to do things in your "Interests" but hate when others look out for same.

KenGali:
You lost the capacity to partner with Igbos and remained the rival for the north. Am sure with such antecedents you do not expect other groups not to watch your moves carefully. Again, its not about hate or love, it is about interest!
No, YOU lost the opportunity to partner with the rest of the Nigerian Nation! And, if there's any group everyone is gonna be watching like a Hawk does a Hen, its gonna be YOUR People :YOUR people endorsed the most hated General in Nigeria's history, a man that fought, and led troops, in the war that still stirs bitterness even in Ibos unborn. A war that killed millions of YOUR kith and kin.YOUR people tried to bring down the First President from their region in more than 40 yrs. They refused to come to his defense when he needed to ascend power and are now openly trying to block his moves to retain it. . . . He's most likely gonna get re-elected, what kinda dish do you think he'll then serve YOU guys?

      If YOU wanna keep decieving YOURSELVES that with "such antecedents you do not expect other groups not to watch your moves carefully" then I dont know what else to say. You can keep deceiving YOURSELF that the rest of Nigeria is "watching" the Yorubas closely. Truth is no group in Nigeria trusts the other, but, even moreso, where little/brief alliances do occur among certain groups, fact remains EVERY group bears a DEEP suspicion of YOUR people. . . . .

KenGali:
@Onlytruth, Obiagu1
You guys were earlier calling for the position of Ojukwu, lets not become like those Israelites who after abusing the arc of covenant by carrying it to every war, began to loose the understanding of what it truly stood for. Ojukwu must not make any statement on 2011, his task as a leader is much heavier, and it is by actions not by words.

First, the cause of action of the Igbos in the coming elections is already set, any political analyst will know that there are not many choices. Secondly, we must not fall prey to our Yoruba brothers who are at every corner, especially on this forum ask us to take a position or even ask us to rationalize our respect for Ojukwu. What we will do we will do, we do not need to say we will do it, no need to answer. Unfortunately GEJ, is also looking for set positions before he will take his line, true brotherhood is based on trust and not broadcasted on radios. For those worried about his Ijaw credentials, a betrayal from him would essentially seal the fate of the Ijaws in Nigerian politics to use and dump. He has much more to loose.

IBB is a Yoruba problem not ours, ours is to bargain for what we want with who ever that can deliver it. And it is only a pride issue too. In spite of whatever the SW based press likes to make of it, MKO was not dear to Igbo heart.
If I may digress more, the political model of each major group in Nigeria is quite predictable, the north views itself with royal purity, hence by pride will always set itself either as the concessioner or the gladiator. The SE has been practicing multiple light stone throws to gain foothold since the civil war. More like the way fishes spawn off-springs to ensure that at least a few survive. The South West has ever been playing the corny and the jester and ever strategising on becoming a gladiator but failing. This failing is essentially due to her inability to enfold the east as was the calculation at civil war. The most interesting side of this is the two prong approach to politics SW always use. In the first republic Awo sought a partnership via emissaries to both Zik and Bello at the same time. This calculation is essentially to shift power from one hand to the other, or maximize chances , maintain the opportunity to play. Today, after so much vocals against Yaradua and for Goodluck, SW is still taking the two prongs, while OBJ is trying to pull off tutoring/control of GEJ in PDP, AC is preparing to harvest the opportunity of a fall out by lining up a candidate (Ribadu) that satisfies the zoning policy that is desired in the north, but condemned in SW (we are often given the impression that its for the new Nigeria lol).
Ojukwu’s role in all this is much heavier than choosing who to support, let the young men follow the laid path. He has to prepare the East for the possible post 2011 election events. The north like i said before has a false sense of untainted royalty given by Britain, if they loose in 2011, they will respond with pogroms in the north and mostly igbos will be killed, what will be our response? Should the situation escalate, who are our external partners, are we already talking with them? We know US is already planning for such events due to her interest, we also know OBJ did the green-tree agreement to extend relations to western powers. That’s especially to Ojukwu and Alex Ekwueme to ponder.
Secondly, AC should not catch us by surprise, there is a high risk of PDP splitting, which can make AC suddenly strong. This is what I suspect as OBJ’s interest when he was putting GEJ in confrontational stance earlier. For us SE, if not GEJ, then IBB. Hence we need to get IBB to take an open position on resource control, or even negotiate some level of decentralization of economic resources from Federal Control. We need commitments from both GEJ and IBB on opening and dredging eastern ports. A large Federal River port in Onitsha, Opening up better trade routes and relations with Central Africa and Camreroon, International Airport, etc.
In ur obvious hatred for the Yorubas, what u have failed to notice is that they are not playing ur so-called "Two-Prong politics"; they, unlike the Ibos, clearly have a mind of their own. Clearly, they do not wait for their "Leader" to re-christen an Ex-Dictator with a Yoruba name, or promise him the vote of the whole Yoruba Nation before deciding on who to vote for. As you've noted urself, they arent blindly following anyone and are supporting candidates based on their own interest and (potential) benefits; thats what politics is all about, thats what you Ibos seem to lack: A MIND OF YOUR OWN!

Ojukwu has already stated his position; that is fact, dont try to bamboozle us by trying to twist the truth. He has supported Gen.IBB, and has promised him Ibo votes come 2011. So on that day, make sure You (and Onlylies) do as ur supreme leader instructed, vote, and take ur country back to the abyss of the 11th century!

1.  A snake will always produce a long looking thing as an offspring.
2.  Any man that donated that knife used in killing your father will not spare a thought doing the same for you.
