Pls my seniors in the house. I noticed the brake light of my 05 corolla showing the dashboard without hanging the handbrake. After all checks, I discovered the brake oil short below the average level which I top, yet the light still showing. What could possibly be the cause of the braklight showing on my dashboard.

Various stuff brings the brake Indicator to illuminate on the dashboard, from bad VSS to bad handbrake line. But scan the abs first to know more

Basically, d symptoms is while driving or accelerating after lyk 40-50 mins of driving,

There is a loss of power, speed reduces ,i keep pressing d gas pedal, but speed does not increase.

I try n park n put car in park position, car vibrates while changing transmission at this point in tym. I switch off engine.

Switch on engine back n car starts moving fine again ,till another episode of losing power starts.

Boss I will suggest you scan first, but from what you explained I will suggest your fuel pump and clogged fuel filter or O-Ring components, clogged air filter, clogged exhaust system, failing camshaft position sensor and so on. But I will not give a definite answer until it is scanned.

Note IAC stands for - Idle Air Control Valve and it is on the throttle body.

Got to know its Throttle. related . Any one wt such experience n how did you deal wt it.?

We don spray the thing with carb cleaner tire . the code still dey like dele o. Biko.

From experience it is better you change the throttle body and I will like you to state the car model, but from what yhu stated here first check the IAC or preferably change the throttle body entirely.

It depends on the real cause of the VSC coming up, I will suggest a proper diagnosis first, so we don't start guess work.

The Code P042X deals with the exhaust system ranging from Catalyst converter to Your Oxygen sensors. So if the code you are having is just the P0420 then try out the cheap ones first, change O2 sensor and that should solve the case.

I really need an advice. I currently work with one of the Nigerian banks. My monthly take home is about 450k and quite good. My major problem right now is that I have just been transferred from a Branch at one end of Lagos to another end of Lagos. All efforts to convince my boss to deploy me to a closer branch has proved abortive.

Going to work daily right now is a very difficult especially during this raining season and covid 19th period. I spend roughly 3-4 hours on the road when going to work and back home.

I am currently raising my kids on my own right now and dont know how I would manage when school resumes. Before now I drop them off on my way to work in the morning and my friend picks them up to her house in the afternoon till I get back.

I currently have a savings of 2million and would love to start a biz( I dont know what kind) as am comptemplating resigning and start a biz instead so that I can have time for my kids and not die due to stress

Please i really need advice for you all.

Good bless you ma'am, pls always consider people that depends on you before you make the decision. Now to the fact of job security no business can quickly give you that kind of monthly salary of yours in the next 1 year. And again look for an apartment close to that place of work and never trust anybody with your kids.
How I wish I could help. I grew up with my mum and I understand the sacrifices of a banker/career woman she gives. Thank God we turned out fine. But not all kids left alone can survive the pressure.

P0501 - Vehicle Speed Sensor Range - VSS

How The VSS Works Typically, the VSS is an electromagnetic sensor that uses a rotating reluctor ring to complete an input circuit to the PCM. The VSS is mounted in the transmission housing at such a position as to allow the reluctor ring to pass by it; in close proximity. The reluctor ring is attached to the output shaft of the transmission so that it spins along with it. As the reluctor ring passes by the electromagnetic tip of the VSS, notches and grooves serve to complete and interrupt the circuit rapidly. These circuit manipulations are recognized by the PCM as transmission output speed or vehicle speed.

Potential Symptoms

loss of anti-lock brakes

The "anti-lock" or "brake" warning lamps on the dash may be lit

The speedometer or odometer may not work properly (or at all)

Your vehicle's RPM limiter may be decreased

The shifting of an automatic transmission may become erratic other symptoms may also be present

Causes

The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is not reading (functioning) properly
There is a broken/frayed wire leading to the vehicle speed sensor
The vehicle's PCM is not correctly configured for the actual tire size on the vehicle
And lastly the ECM might be going bad, but that should be the last resort.

Solutions

Check for the possible solutions from the causes listed above.

A customer brought his car (Hyundai Elantra 2008) for diagnosis, one of the fault code the car had was P0507.

The code goes this way; P0507 Idle Air Control System RPM Higher Than Expected.

This P0507 code is one that's sometimes triggered on vehicles that have electronic throttle control. That is, they don't have a regular throttle cable from the accelerator pedal to the engine. They rely on sensors and electronics to control the throttle.

Causes

A vacuum leak
Leaking air intake after the throttle body
EGR valve leaking vacuum
A faulty positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve
