The P0170 this code mean that the fuel mixture is too rich or too lean. Most of the time these Mercedes-Benz fault code is caused by a defective Mercedes Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) sensor.


Symptoms

Check Engine Light On
Car stuttering
CEL may come on for a few day, then turns off
Rough idle
Car shakes, running rough
Hesitation during acceleration

Causes
The most common cause of P0170 a Mercedes-Benz is a defective mass-airflow sensor. The MAF sensor gets dirty over time triggering the CEL.

Vacum leaks near the o-ring of the fuel injectors.

Vacuum leak at the brake booster line.

Cracked PCV hose or loose PCV valve.

Fuel Supply Issue. If you have issues during a cold start, it is more likely a fuel related issue

Solution

First, clean the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. You will need MAF Sensor Cleaner to spray on the sensor. Cleaning may not always work.
Remove the mass air flow sensor.
Spray MAF sensor cleaner on the plate inside. Avoid touching the sensor with an object. Only spray sensor cleaner.
If cleaning does not fix the problem, replace the MAF sensor.
If P0170 was caused by a bad MAF sensor and you replaced the sensor, the CEL should turn off in a couple of days. Even if you don’t clear the codes. If the fault codes are caused by a vacuum leak, the CEL will stay on or return.

The main issue most people deal with now is transmission issues which cut across most brands; Toyota, Honda, Hyundai just those for now...

When you start having issues the first step you take is check yourself?
When was the last time as a car owner have you done Servicing to the tranny system?
Then you check the the oil to see the color, if it is anything apart from pink like, then just know you are going for a tranny Servicing.
Next are the valve and solenoid; the harness or open circuit and complete change of the solenoid.
If you are doing a complete Servicing then you change the filter in most of these vehicles.

But in a case the Torque Converter is affected you are Changing the transmission system completely.


Don't continue to service what is not going to last long. Spend money on geniue parts and not managing the issues.

The Kickstarter hub attenuating to the engine had the wire not perfectly keyed into it, hence the spark sound. My mech here is happy cos money don enter him hand.

Boss Check ADS mean Active Damper System.
And it is mostly the suspension coil that is the culprit here but thorough diagnosis to check if the sensor or harness is faulty can not be ruled out

I drove into my house this evening after visiting a relation.
I parked the car in. Then tried restarting to repark properly.
The car won't start but the check light comes on as if it wants to start.

Can you reach out to the wiring from the starter motor to the battery and see if there is broken harness or fried wired. And if not since the check engine light is illuminated can you do quick scan. It will make the job easier boss

Last week I went there it was by miracle I got a trip back and it was very dramatic.

Took some boys from ikeja to magoro, thank God the turn back to berger was just like 200m away under a bridge. A request with Ketu destination entered just as I was about entering the express. PUD 5.4km, (I'd rather do it than blow empty back to berger with the traffic) Called rider immediately but the description wasn't clear enough so I decided to used the map not knowing the dude is among the geng that doesn't know how to set PU location when making a request. 1.4km to PUL road was bad I dexides to atop, called rider to meet me up because I can't continue again. Rider said ok. Few minutes later dude called, after asking from people nearby we discovered I was at the wrong location while rider was at Arepo bus stop. Chai!!! GMap was saying 10km to PU...oboy!!! Instead of me ti cancel at that point my sense didnt interpret to me na so one of the guys that directed me offered to take me there on his bike. Dude was following up on the phone(that was my only motivation).

Las las we arrived at Arepo b/s only to find out say na the guy babe dey go in the trip.
The stupid girl has already jump into back seat.

Dude supportes by saying I'm not paying any bikeman you re supposed to pick me up from my location.

I gave the bikeman N200. Cancel trip, pls step out of my car.

UBA no follow, did online transaction, it wasn't successful. Went straight to the closest branch made complain to the customer service.
She give me form which I filled, madam had to tell me that this might take months before they reverse the money. What I notice was this failed transaction are being fixed by the head office.

Boss no give up, next time make your voice heard in banking hall, some of our customer service attendants are just over doing things. Believe next time you have issues report at the branch level and make sure you call the customer service to notify them and if the customer service staff failed to enter your details on system the customer service center agent will tell you and fix it for you. Am an Auto Technician now so I am not trying to sell them to you guys but to make things easier for you..

PS: I've used FBN and they were thrash, lost 50K to their incompetency. I use GTB too, but only as a transaction account and I don't leave more than 5K in the account (never experienced a failed transaction too.

My own thing is that I'd never ever use a POS no matter what, if the POS outlet won't take transfer I'll just Waka and if I want to withdraw using ATM, I'd make sure to use my bank's ATM gangan...

Oga I am using UBA and I don't have any issue with them since 2007.... So you complaining about virtually all the banks baffles me... As an ex banker once you report a cash retract or dispense pending issues, first report at the branch level then start calling customer care line they will give you the code of your report so you can track the progress of your complains. And believe me it works. They will be calling you from time to confirm if you have received the alert

Spark plugs blackened

The dipstick smells of gasoline

Gasoline drips out of the tailpipe

Engine stalls

Gasoline in the vacuum hose

Deceleration problems

Bad fuel mileage

Causes

So, Always replace your fuel filter at the recommended car manufacturer intervals. Also a clogged filter will cause fuel pressure to drop and damage the fuel pump as well. So it’s more cost effective to service the fuel filter at regular intervals.

I do not experience any misfires at all I only experienced misfires when the plug were bad and after replacing the plug the car have been very normal, the fuel consumption is killing me, even when diagnosed nothing was found though I find quit trust the guy that did the scan, please I really need help

I use a use a Hyundai Tucson 4plugs it developed a bad mileage since December I have been looking for solution
Right now it uses about 25L in 100km without AC the gauge is in kilometer . I do highway and street drive to arrive at this
No check engine light on dashboard
Cooling system is good
Alternator pulley rotates even when Ac is off
Fan is connected directly to the battery
Car does not smoke
Engine runs smoothly but little noisy around the timing Chain and pulleys
Please what can I do

Good day boss, I have a similar experience but dodge product. I will advise you to check the tail pipe if there is any sign of fuel? Your fuel injector and nozzle can be the culprit here, and from experience do you experience misfire at all.....
Then I will need to run diagnosis then I can tell you the certain parts to work on.

We got this 2014 Ford Explorer on auction in Nigeria few months ago. We notice it leaking engine oil (also make noise). when checked I was told the engine bottom plate was glue somewhere and 3 of the engine sitting are bad. What ur advice please. Is it possible to get and new engine bottom plate and what the cost of this Engine sitting and this plate.
