Oga blackbishop, I have a problem with my Peugeot 406, it fails sometimes to supply fuel and the fuel gauge doesn't work anymore thereby giving problem of restarting the engine..again the engine brings out black smoke but doesn't consume fuel than I notice..... please and please help a soul sir.. thanks

I will be talking about 'parasitic draw'. This is the situation where you park your car overnight and the next day your battery is down.

The process of starting a car takes a lot of battery power which will be restored by the alternator while driving.

But in the situation of having constant dead battery there are few things that might cause that

1. Your battery connections are loose or corroded

2. Parasitic draw/drain - This is when the light in these compartments are lite, like glove box compartment, trunk, doors, walk home light, interior and many more are malfunctioning. In fact your smoke port do cause the harm too.

3. The battery isn't charging while driving. This can be dicey cause your alternator maybe failing without you knowing.

4. Your battery is low or faulty or getting old. Mostly replace and you are good to go.

From this you have to let an electrical Technician run a diagnosis to determine the cause before you engaged Kazeem and start changing unnecessary parts.

Guys, something happened this morning.

A shocking experience.

I got a trip from my end going to Itire surulere.

Using Google map, it told us to avoid Fagba traffic n follow old Abeokuta road.

Some few metres to the railway crossing at Odejobi.

A guy walked up to me , told showed me his police id card n told me to park.

At first, I thought maybe cos the rider didn't put on facemask,

I cleared off the road, the next thing go and open your boot.
I opened my boot, one of the policemen followed me n started checking the boot.

Then it dawned on me, dis was not facemask stuff, they were looking for drugs.

The policeman asked ." are you uber? I said yes.
By the time we got back to the front ,the other policeman was already in strong contention wt d lady rider. They found some SK or marijuana on her.

I was shocked myself, though she looked the part from her dressing wen i first picked her up. I just thought maybe its one of those girls coming back from last night hustle.. So no issues.

Long story short, we ended up at the police station. I just left now. She is still there...

Say a word of prayer before stepping out . N consider well before you do offline for total strangers.

Just like I said, scan and the problem will likely be around your catalyst converter or O2 sensor

Reasons the Temperature Gauge Reads High

If the temperature gauge reads high, it could mean your engine is overheating, and some components maybe faulty her like a leaking radiator or radiator cap, dirty or clogged radiator. Another reason your reading might be high is you could be losing coolant. A small leak or evaporation may cause your radiator to slowly lose coolant.
A third reason your temperature gauge reads high could be because the thermostat is broken. If this is the case, you may need a coolant temperature switch replacement.
The last reason the temperature gauge could read high is because of a water pump, or water pump gasket failure. If the water pump is malfunctioning, it may need to be replaced by a professional.

But the best solution is to give the car to a qualified Auto Technician to run full diagnosis on the cooling system before a road side Mechanic asked you to remove the thermostat or connect the fan directly.

Honda Accord 2008 - P2227

There was a case have been working for a week now, A customer from outside lagos called to know what code P2227 means for his Honda Accord 2008?

Fault Code P2227 mean the Barometric pressure Sensor (BARO) which is built in the Power Train Module in other word Brainbox and it monitors the atmospheric pressure.

The BARO is almost similar to the MAP Sensor - Manifold Absolute Pressure in term of output, the output of the MAP Sensor is similar to that of the BARO sensor.

Back to the main issue the owner was having this code and MAP Sensor related codes and he was changing the MAP Sensor, the car will work for a day and goes back to the the same issue, after making attempt thrice he called me to know any other solution.


The Possible Symptoms

Engine rough idles

You smell fuel alot

Engine hesitation

After studying the situation and consulting I told him to change the PCM or ECM to get rid of the problem.

So in this situation changing the ECM is not enough, you have to reprogram the ECM to fit in with the car system...

Boss good day, let me start by no car is wahala prone, except few recalls. And when it comes to Benz your are more save than any other brand. Just put this at the back of your mind, maintenance is the key

Good day let me start with P0302 - this can be corrected by checking the plug, the coil and the fuel injector.
P0403 - This is your EGR Solenoid it will prolly be the valve or your charcoal canister

The question was if using 5W-30 was the reason the Engine oil of his Camry was always at the lowest after about 7000 Miles?

Mobile1 is an advanced full Synthetic oil, with addictive to prolong the Engine life and a better performance.

Some reports did indicated the specificity of lighter Engine oil with damaged engine drying up after some miles.
But there are some possible cause of engine oil going down without any possible physical signs

The possible cause can be bad piston rings, bad PCV Valves and so many more. But the essential steps to take is to allow a certified Technician check to give you a probable cause.

Hello, I really need your advice. I drive a Hyundai Elantra 2009. The car overheated after a repair guy fixed something in the gear. He removed all the water components to do all that and didn't top up enough water when I went to pick it up. Car overheats and the last thing that happened was bubbles coming from the inlet for topping water. A mechanic says the head gasket is blown and that he would have to change it and grind the cylinder head too because that's what they usually do to such cars. I'm a bit confused as to why he wants to grind the cylinder head.

And do you have smoke when you start the car in the morning?
If none of the above is present then you don't need to bother about the grinding. Just change the gasket and scrap the Cylinder head.. gbam...

Apart from "servicing your o rings",referring to a fuel injector as "injector nozzles" is not professional at all for a modern tech.Fuel injector is simply injector no need to nozzle it

If you read through sir, I purposely specify the word lay man term.

The other day I told someone on this forum to check starter motor, he said he didn't know I was referring to kick starter as they re always referred to.

Boss you and I understand terms but most people will see it as jargons or pride of the profession.

The valve stems in automotive engines, for example, often use O-rings to prevent oil from entering the combustion chamber, sealing, and helps to keep pressure in fuel line or probably the injector system. Boss you need to explain better. But from what I think I understand your car must be using an EPS - Electric Power Steering. So what are the codes the scan results are giving?

Actually it is called TUNE UP Servicing, The tune-up should also include cleaning or replacing the spark plugs and, on older cars, the distributor cap and rotor. Tune-ups may also include replacement of the fuel filter, oxygen sensor, PCV valve, and spark plug wires, injector and nozzle.

The O-Ring is the rubber around the nozzles in a lay man terms... Any other thing you want to know

Defective Injector Nozzles... Always service your O-Ring occasionally
