Foreign AffairsRe: Malcolm X--- The First True "african" American? by BlackLibya: 3:31am On Oct 20, 2011
sold us for cheap gin, trinkets and non working old muskets
The muskets worked great actually. There were some engagements in West Africa in which the Europeans were almost defeated. There were several engagements in Kongo where the portuguese were defeated.

The Europeans had better rifles yes, but the Africans had several opportunities to beat the Europeans, for Africans war was more staged than it was for Europeans. Africans had rules and honor, esp. the Asante, they didnt believe it was right to bring a knife to a gunfight, they lost many men in close combat for this reason.
CultureRe: What Was Wrong With Our Indigenous Gods? by BlackLibya: 11:19pm On Oct 19, 2011
BlackLibya, I am so glad you highlighted that the concept of "one God" wasn't solely a European or Arab concept. . . you are right, certain African religions held onto that concept too.
Of course! There are even some that say Arabs were originally blacks. At least, a large number of them, some of the documents contradict with what I read on the Serer, Medieval Ghana, and Moroccan peoples, but its still interesting to read.

Check it out when u get a chance
http://www.africaresource.com/rasta/sesostris-the-great-the-egyptian-hercules/the-original-black-african-arabs-of-arabia-part-1-ogu-eji-ofo-annu/
I think you would find the Serer of Senegal to be interesting also, they are among one of the few groups in western Africa to still mostly practice their traditional religion. Some guy on wikipedia has done alot of research into them, but he's a little biased you'll pick up. Still good reading, and he sources everything.
CultureRe: Francophones Speak Good French But Nigerians Barely Speak English by BlackLibya: 11:11pm On Oct 19, 2011
Whether or not they speak french perfectly is beyond the point. The point is they all speak French, and use it as a source of pride amongst each other. Whereas British colonies like Nigeria, Uganda, and Kenya use the local languages to a large extent, and most from these countries do not even speak english beyond what anyone else in the world would speak.

The real reason for this is the French goal of "assimilation". French colonial campaigns were on average much more destructive and insulting than British campaigns. While the British often tried to work within the existing framework, the French destroyed all previous forms of govt and forced locals to accept french superiority.

The locals that were more drawn to French were given positions of power, and if you note all the French African leaders at independence had studied in Paris, and had a grand appreciation of French culture. Houphet-Boigney even said that his nation did not need independence, because they were forming a brotherhood with the French. So there you go, that is why, the French policy resulted in countries that felt France was much superior to them, and the end all be all. Girls from French West/Central Africa often dress in french styles and imitate strive for french accents, they have a stronger obsession with white people than other africans.

What is there to comment? We're discussing who's relevant. Sure, we could turn our attention to someone like John Huntsman, or others who have less than 1% of the vote, but why? When we already know they won't be the final choices taken into consideration?
I'm sorry, I forgot that voting was a game where the goal is to "win". I thought it was to vote for someone who will represent you accordingly in office.

Let me ask you then:

Do you support the invasion of Libya at the behest of the French?

Do you support the bombing of black libyans trying to defend themselves from racist terrorists?

Did you support the installation of Gbagbo at behest of the French?

Do you support AFRICOM?

Did you support the bailing out of the banks?

Do you support paying a subsidy to insurance companies, and then paying full price for insurance?

Do you support the war in iraq?

do you support the war in afghanistan?

do you support war with iran?

do you support extra-judicial killing of american citizens who have not been tried in court?

Do you support not addressing drug law reform?

Do you support not addressing prison reform?

Do you support not addressing any issues related to black people because the president is not just for one group of people?

Would you then still support the DREAM Act and "Dont Ask, Dont Tell" being repealed even though those are for specific people?

Thank you for answering. Yes or no answers please.
CultureRe: I’m Sure, Igbo Are Descendants Of The Jews -noam Katz, Israeli Envoy by BlackLibya: 10:06pm On Oct 19, 2011
this is the worst type of cultural imperialism. From what I understand, only Ethiopians and people from Northwest Cameroon share any type of history with the Jews.

Why the hell do you want to be something other than you? Are u not proud of being Igbo? If Igbo is so close to being a Jew why are u a Christian? Shouldnt you be practicing traditional Igbo religion? Dont you know Christians are heretics to the Jews?

Oh im sorry, u all have just brainwashed yourselves so that you could accept christianity better.

What about direct democracy? Jews didnt believe in democracy, as can be seen in the Bible they had kings.
CultureRe: What Was Wrong With Our Indigenous Gods? by BlackLibya: 9:40pm On Oct 19, 2011
if you have read the bible extensively from cover to cover you will find out that worshiping idols is the ultimate sin that does not sit too well with God, your land will be pillaged constantly. you will never find peace. you will be inundated with turmoil. there will be lots of suffering. does this all sound familiar ? AFRICA right ? the garden of initial civilization. well this is what happens when you start using humans as sacrifice and start carving out gods to worship. the obatalas, sangos, oyas, mamiwater, juju, voodoo etc etc. colonization, slavery, unfair trade, etc etc ? these are our enemies looting and pillaging us. it is all scriptural and prophetic.
WRONG!

Egyptian civilization was not abrahamic.

Nubian civilization was not Abrahamic.

The Ghana was not Abrahamic.

The Kingdom of Benin was not Abrahamic.

Kanem-Bornu empire was not Abrahamic.

Dahomey was not Abrahamic(although it apparently practiced a more violent ATR)

The Serer Kingdoms were not Abrahamic. (Serer religion is monotheistic, no sacrifice, did not believe in slavery)

Great Zimbabwe was not Abrahamic.

Darfur was not Abrahamic.

Zulu Kingdom was not Abrahamic.

The Nok civilization was not Abrahamic.

I just leasted at least 11 African civilizations that were not practicing religions of Abrahamic origin, and yet they were highly successful, with the first 4 being so successful that they INSPIRED the Europeans to travel the world in search of the great wealth they heard of in these African nations. The state of California is named after a legendary African Queen Califa who is said to have commanded an army of women.

It is also important to note that there are several African religions which only believe in ONE God, and have NO idols. Furthermore, most polytheistic African religions believe in one God that can only be reached in the forms his spirit on Earth, because God is too powerful to be concerned with the daily lives of humans. This is not much different than the Christian belief, esp. amongst Catholics, that Saints work on behalf of God and have special ability to intercede on God's behalf, or the protestant belief that one must pray to Jesus to reach God.

"Kenya’s military is one of the more professional militaries in Africa, with particularly close ties with the British, and the US has helped as well," Thomas Cargill, assistant head of the Africa Programme at the Chatham House research group, said from London.
It is only professional because it associates with the british? Whoops.
Foreign AffairsRe: East Africa Updates.Clearing somalia of Elshabaab militia by BlackLibya: 9:01pm On Oct 19, 2011
^That was a one time issue with some investor company. The reason for these protests is the high cost of living.
He is threatening again. It came back up. He already removed 25,000 people in order for a British company to take build a tree plantation. Some of those people were killed, almost all of them are now poor.

When you move African people off their lands, to please white people or any foreigner, you have failed your people.
Foreign AffairsRe: How Nigerians Living In Europe Ruin The Reputation Of Their Country by BlackLibya: 8:53pm On Oct 19, 2011
in European Newspapers there are always just articles like that forced, where negative Elements of African culture are published
That's true, but look at how Africans react. They destroy more and more of their traditional culture in favor of European culture, shunning their compatriots who refuse to follow suit. Imo, this causes fragmentation of the traditions, and as only the ignorant people continue to practice the fragments they remember, it becomes corrupted in the face of foreign cultural imperialism.

It would stop if Africans reacted, just like the baby factories, i know there have to baby factories in places like China and India, particularly China where they have companies that literally enslave entire families and they never leave the factory. Do you hear about it? No.

This woman was abused though, that's why she spoke out. I know its embarassing, but wouldnt u want to be heard?
Foreign AffairsRe: Black Republican Candidate Herman Cain Vs Obama In The Presidential Election by BlackLibya: 8:47pm On Oct 19, 2011
Nobody wants to comment on my post eh? I guess looking up the information would reveal that both Obama and the republicans are largely funded by the same industries, support only slightly divergent positions, and are members of the same councils, or have ties to organizations that are in ideological step with said councils.

That just doesnt make for an exciting conversation to know that Obama the African saviour is making the country worst, or that any of the great white hopes(or the dark trojan horse cain) will not do anything to make it any better.
Foreign AffairsRe: How Nigerians Living In Europe Ruin The Reputation Of Their Country by BlackLibya: 5:10am On Oct 19, 2011
This is what happens when you force an outside religion on people, and force them to abandon their traditional ways.

In Brazil and Haiti, African spirituality is held in high esteem, and the religions are peaceful. In West Africa, the only time people mention African spirituality is in a negative sense, always witches and burning people and spells and whatever.

The NTC is recognized as being in charge because they are the shell govt setup by the imperialists.

Various articles from various newspapers at various times have all interviewed people from the "revolutionary forces" who say they dont recognize the NTC as the leaders.
Foreign AffairsRe: Time For Massive Revolution In Nigeria by BlackLibya: 5:00am On Oct 19, 2011
The people are hopeless because they dont know where they come from. A yoruba does not know the history of an Igbo, and Igbo does not know the history of a Fulani, and a Fulani does not know of the history of the Hausa.

The people name their lakes and rivers after white people. It is a status symbol to know more American or British history than the next person, even if you do not know your own. All technology introduced from Europe is considered superior to the African way.

The people are lost my friend. They are hopeless and they know not where they come from. Just read the ignorance on these forums.

I wonder why there are so many foolish "bark at the Moon" threads suddenly dotting NL?
Perhaps we will soon have folk demanding the right to be paedophiles. Some people should be sat down and remorselessly slapped until their ears pop through their nostrils. Angry
Dude we are not saying we want Joseph Kony to be saved. We are just questioning what is REALLY going on here. The last time the U.S went into Uganda was under Bush Jr, and he used a team of Venezuelans which were completely annhilated by LRA forces. It is widely believed that Musveni or one of his officials tipped off Kony allowing him to escape the ambush. Americans complained Ugandan officials were corrupt and working both sides.

All of this spreading democracy in africa is just recycled garbage about spreading civilization in the 1890's. Medieval Europe was awash with legends about great civilizations in the land of the ethiopians. The British and French came in the 1890's and found complex civilizations which they destroyed after they refused to submit. The most easily pacified ones kept more of their history, while the most nationalistic nations had their cities burned, histories destroyed, and relics stolen i.e Benin Kingdom.

The most vocal opposition was killed, and the survivors were taught that the white man brought civilization to them and they should be thankful.

Now they tell us we cant govern ourselves after they subverted our democracies, they tell us we are ignorant farmers then buy our land, kill the ones who protest, and employ the rest to work for slave wages while forcing them to buy the food grown on their land with their slave wages. They tell us we need to conserve the environment, so they kill all the people in the forest whose religion revolves around the very forest in which they live.

Colonization happened to force Africans to become efficient according to European standards, and to strengthen European economies
You never even explained why you didnt agree with that statement. Furthermore, you never provided and factual evidence to back up your rebuttal.

You never even actually refuted the statement, you refuted me as a person, thus trying to refute every argument i can possibly make.

You almost seem to not even acknowledge that colonization existed, that europeans thought africans were less than them, or that there were "advanced" African societies at all that were functioning on an entirely different economic and philosophical model than the Europeans. In fact, you probably are not even aware of these systems, and if you are, you have never mentioned why European individualist and capitalist societies are better.

Foreign AffairsRe: Obama Sends 100 Military Advisers Against Kony's Rebels In Uganda by BlackLibya: 2:59am On Oct 19, 2011
BTW, we cannot forget that Museveni in the 1980's refused to recognize the TWICE DEMOCRATICALLY elected Milton Obote, in Uganda saying the elections were rigged because he did not win and started wars all over the place in Uganda until coming to power himself.

Uganda went from being a perfectly governed place before the British came (see: Buganda), to the British redistribution of the power structures in the region ultimately ending in the destruction of the Buganda kingdom in 1966, after Milton Obote suspended the constitution of the Uganda Federation, and Idi Amin began his power lusting.

Did Obote order the attack on Libiri?(the palace of the kubaka) according to him no, and probably not. Could he have reprimanded Idi Amin or dismissed him? Once again the answer to this question is most likely hell no, Idi Amin would have killed him, as he tried to do anyway.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama Sends 100 Military Advisers Against Kony's Rebels In Uganda by BlackLibya: 2:44am On Oct 19, 2011
Ok I think we all realize that Kony is bad. Im sure Cap28 wants him gone, I WANT Kony gone, and when i first heard the news I was "fucking ecstatic". But then I thought about it, why?

Like many have said it is an election year. If U.S troops can knock out Kony, that will give Museveni a ton of support in the North, it will be a huge electoral victory. Not only that, but U.S "advisors" may actually be serving to assist in operations to eliminate certain figures in the Ugandan govt who resist U.S interests. This could ultimately include Museveni himself, but it is not likely. While here, U.S "advisors" will be gathering information on other rebel groups in the area, making contacts with the ones they like, and pressing for more support for AFRICOM.

I dont want Kony there, but I dont want the United States forcing Museveni on the electorate like the French did Outarra.

Museveni is threatening to sell 25% of the Miriba rainforest to an Indian company, saying that those who disagree "dont know the future of Uganda".

Museveni removed 25,000 people from their land in order to setup a foreign forestry operation.

Corruption is starting to run rampant, Uganda is stabilized, but now its starting to be sold out to foreigners just like every other african country.

Musevini is threatening to sell the Ugandan rainforest, his suppression of demonstrations will only increase the threat of violence in the future as the opposition gets desperate and more radical elements are allowed to take over.

You look at this forum and you can see what is wrong with Nigeria. Unlike in Nigeria, in the United States you can easily go to places like :

Vote Smart www.votesmart.org

Open Secrets www.opensecrets.org

and the FEC http://www.fec.gov/finance/disclosure/disclosure_data_search.shtml

In order to look at candidate positions, voting records and most importantly CAMPAIGN FINANCING, not to mention the numerous independent blogs that watch candidates for flip flops, but all you guys do is take at face value what the media says. The same media that tells you the rebels are bringing peace and love to everywhere in Libya. In fact, you could even just go to wikipedia and figure out that there are 17 other candidates besides Obama and the Republicans in the race.

the way african people use the word "civilization" is funny. According to you all, civilization is everything that white people make, and nothing that Africa had before.

I suppose that Nigeria was not civilized before the white man came and destroyed all the cities, turned you all into slaves, and then put all of your artifacts into his museums?

personally i think the only modernization africa needs, is maybe electricity and a strong army. Nothing else is necessary, exit the european capitalist system and live amongst urselves.

African leaders have given away so much of their resources and destroyed their homelands all in the name of acquiring european created "capital". It has not worked, and it never will, and everytime an african country decides to do for itself, its leader gets assassinated.

Africa appears to me, to be going the way of not only the Native Americans, but classical Europe as well. A combination of genocide, colonization, and resource exhaustion. The individualist European society that he trumpets(and we unfortunately have been raised in) consumes and destroys all of its resources before it expands. Now it has expanded globally, and a few people mostly Europeans, Americans, and their puppets are concentrating exhausting all of Africa's resources for no reason.

They extract our metals to make bombs to kill us and destroy our nations, only to force us to borrow in order to build it again. They buy our land to grow food to sell back to us, while poisioning our rivers with their pesticides and fertilizers so that we have to pay them to treat our once clean water.

Morpheus, what you fail to realize, is that the reason Africa was colonized in the first place is because they didnt want to play the European's games. Europe would have built whatever for Africa in order to increase trade. African chiefs did not want railroads, they did not want to mine their precious metals, they did not want to cut their forests and sell their timber. In fact, if you read about Portuguese exploits in the Kingdom of Kongo, the Kongolese were given portuguese cannons, and never used them in their warfare. Colonization happened to force Africans to become efficient according to European standards, and to strengthen European economies

It's still pretty close to impossible, unless France decolonizes west/central africa. When Gbagbo tried to move off the CFA franc he was toasted. Mugabe printed his own money, zimbabwe was destroyed. Libya printed its own money backed by gold, destroyed.

Thomas Sankara was turning Burkina Faso around, assassinated.

Kwame Nkrumah was leading creating Ghana's infrastructure, couped by Houphet-Boigney and the French.

Patrice Lumumba promised Congolese resources for Congo not Europe/America, assassinated by Belgium and CIA.

Samoure Touré fought for preservation of the African way of life in Guinea, assassinated.

Haile Selassie tried to make Ethiopia a regional powerhouse able to compete with European powers, assassinated.

Ghaddafi gives Africa a chance to start its own central bank, couped.

Hm, there are many more who tried to help their people and failed. I have not had a chance to read about all of them yet.
