The argument over the refusal of the APC Candidate General Buhari to publicly show his Certificate has continued to rage on even as the election grows ever closer. Those challenging him are quick to point out that it is not in question whether General Buhari attended the schools he claimed, but that he has willfully refused to produce his certificate as stipulated by law.

I find this quite amusing, because in our not too distant past, the same President Jonathan was quoted to have violated the spirit and intent of the Constitution which he is now brandishing as a weapon before Nigerians. In a move that must have stunned even his closest supporters – at least those who really care for him and want him to succeed, President E.G. Jonathan blasted the idea of asset declaration mandated by the Nigerian Constitution as inconsequential but his actual words were worse than that and most unbecoming of a country’s president: “I don’t give a damn” Nigeria’s Number One Citizen reportedly answered when asked in a ‘media chat’ about why he has not declared his assets.
