Ui
Rilamaka: Western manipulation at its best! Now they have cunningly added these excepts to their Wikipedia page, lol, just to convince people like you, that homosexuality existed in Africa.

The Western people have lied a lot about too many things that have come from Africa in order to pass us off as crude, needy, unintelligent and so many bad things.

I will never believe what a white man writes about Africa again! Especially when it supports any of their stupid ideas, if you want real history please go and speak to the people in the community. Oral tradition has not died in Africa.

I am IGBO girl, and homosexuality never existed in Igboland, it was unthinkable, even we do not have a term for it. The history is there in itself, anything that does not have a term in any language never existed in that area.

As for those that will quote me and say bullshit about killing of twins and crap, you do not compare a non-existent culture with an abolished culture, there is no basis for comparison. Even a 6 year old can decipher that.
Thanks......
because u didnt know of any homosexuals doesnt meet they didnt exist.
Discrimination, ignorance and hate has forced gays to go underground for centuries. Doesnt mean they stopped being gay. They got married to cover face just like homophobes wanted, but still had gay sex.
Statistically 1 in every 10 men is gay. So look around closely before ypu wallow in self deceit

IdiatFF: I will respond to your post from the rear.
First, do you for real think with this decision, the West will 'flock' to Malawi and ignite any meanful development? Sir I do not think so. It is silly for a man to assume that he will be helped by another man just because he decides to dance nake just because the other man likes nake pictures. How about his self worth afterward? Malawi do have a culture like every other African countries which had been in place from time immemorial, but for one Banda to, for a pot of porridge, decide to desecrate such culture corrupting it with another country's show that she is a coward, uncreative and unfit to lead Malawi; development should not be hinged on mendicancy.

Secondly, you asked "... what is Un-african about a sensible
government allowing consesnting non-threatning persons
express their sexuality as they will?" It is known that homosexualism is never of Africa, it was imported. So if we enact laws to prevent it from corrupting our culture and ways of life, I see nothing bad in that. But for outsiders (The West) to threaten a sovereign nation to import an alien culture of theirs into its, Mister, such should be resisted vehemently.
Rubbish talk born from ignorance.
Homosexuality has nothing to do with culture. But even if it did, are we now criminalizing people for practicing a culture alien to ours? Last I checked nigeria was a multicultural society, and if my culture isnt hurting u then why criminalize it.

Moreover, criminalizing sexuality does not stop people from being gay, it just means they will be forced to hide in the closet, forced to marry women they will never love, forced to keep spteading hiv (unknowingly, since medical services are outlawed).
The antigay law has no benefit whatsoever other than to placate ignorant citizens from focusing on real issuues in society.

Noneroone: one must not be perfect in order to condemn a sin. Stop intimidating people's anti-sodomy stance by attacking their jugular. sin is sin whatever perspective. There is God!
I am not intimidating u, neither am I going for your jugular....thats just your conscience.
And if sin is sin as u say, that what makes u better than a homosexual.
Unless you are telling me u do not sin?
Thats the reason Jesus advocated for love, not condemnation. You are not the holiest, and therefore possess no right to condemn anybody.
Face your own salvation, and let people find theirs.

Better. If youspend time preparing and working on your righteousness, you will have no time to be searching for how to persecute homosexuals.
The only thing you owe a sinner is love and compaddion. Not hate!

Christianity Etc › Re: Catholic Bishop Calls Homophobes 'sick' by blackpanda: 5:24am On Jul 16, 2014
ghettodreamz: The so-called Bishop is so confused.

Yes, SIN is SIN, whether homosexuality or fornication. But, how does calling homophobes sick people equates to showing the homosexuals respect and compassions? If they truly deserve all these; then they equally deserve being told the undiluted truth - that God is against such practices of same-se>< relationship. Let the Bishop stop pleasing MEN and face reality of life, otherwise millions of these people would end up being misled to eternal damnation and so many people's blood would be on Him on that glorious day of accountability.

No one is greater than the WORD of God, and God is not a respecter of humans. He is frankly against the ACT and for the same reason he destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah in the Bible, I believe we all know the story.

We are truly in the END time, where truth are no more being told by the so-called MEN of GOD, it seems a lot of them value and respect humans much more than the WORD of God. And they are so ready to trade earthly reward for heavenly treasures. Otherwise, I see no reason why a Bishop would have spewed such a gibberish. To have baptized daughter of same-se>< couple says more about the so-called Bishop and whatever he represents.

God created Adam and formed Eve out of the rib he took from Adam's, and not ADAM & ADAM. In accordance to Genesis 2:24, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."

He didn't say a MAN shall leave his parents and be joined to another man or a WOMAN would be joined to another WOMAN.

Why then have we decided to turn the Bible upside down in the name of pleasing mankind and being acceptable in the sight of men, rather than GOD. Little wonder, the book of Matthew 7:22-23 says

"Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness! "

No one is born with same-sex sexual preference, the idea that people are born that way is erroneous, immoral and demonic. Even the animals know much more better.

Besides, if same-sex couple could have been knowledgeable enough to have bought sperm from the sperm banks or from donors so as to procreate; then it means they are in their right senses and know that all things on earth, things beneath the earth and in Heaven are beautifully, uniquely and perfectly created by GOD. Why then have humans decided to re-create things and change creations hiding behind the false and erroneous ideology of sexual preference.

I for one, disprove and loathe homosexuality and people who practices such. But who am I to judge anyone? Judgment is the Lord's and he will surely judge all man according to his/her works on that glorious day.

Nowadays, so many heresies oozing from the altars and we Christians need to stand firm in the Lord, believe in the word of God and not MAN.

It is well.
Since you know howhow to quote bible very well, I hope u are also very perfect in your ways!
You must follow the laws of bible to the latter. because if you dont, your own part of hell will be the hottest!

Sleekydee: All this "don't condemn them dont condemn them" campaigns are strategic ways churches that arent rooted deep in Christ are using to welcome an act God specifically hates...Homosexuality is Perversion, God distaste Perversion, He is a God of Life, and not perversion. I strongly agree as christians, condemnation is off our list, but then it wil be far easier 2 feel sorry for someone who sees and reckon he or she is going in the wrong direction....but unfortunately these arent the case of most Gay n Lesbians. you often find them trying to convince other by saying "I was born this way" "I didnt choose to be this way" I will continue to condemn any gay or lesbian that tries to convince me he/she cant change his/her ways....thats my 2 kobo in the matter....Bishop I hail oh, well done sir.

Romance › Re: A Special Message For Unmarried Women by blackpanda: 1:28pm On Oct 07, 2013
Interesting read, and it makes a lot of sense too.....in the perfect world, that is!

Unfortunately, we are in naija. Most ladies know all this already but lack the courage to follow their heart, or at the very least, common sense. Not when society has already tagged them as "lesser than their married counterparts, or when parents (especially mothers) are eager to marry them off to whomever just for the pleasure of having "inlaws" and "grandkids". Nevermind the lady will be miserable for the rest of her earthly life

But its also more interesting to note that the pressure is not only one sided. Men also face pressures these days from parents to pick a bride. And it must be one that is from the same ethnic group and willing to succumb to the orders of her inlaws. Whether the man loves his wife or not is irrelevant! The only problem is that most men will succumb to the pressure long before they even realise that it was a big mistake. And by the time they realise, there's only one person to vent the anger on, the dear wife!

It is the FG that allows the strike to linger.
Is it not shameful that no Nigerian University is in the top 1000 in the world and government cannot implement the Agreement they sign to upgrade our universities.

instead of pressuring ASUU , turn that attention to the FG that are spending so much to maintain themselves
You are very correct. Everyone is shouting ASUU as if the strike started on basis of mere frivolity. Nigerians are so blessed with short memories and are highly impatient. If ASUU backs down everytime, do you think FG will ever listen to them. People should reason with their brains not with sentiments. Its unfortunate that students have to stay home for this long, but that just goes to show you the level of priority that education has in this country. BTW have you ever heard that members of the NASS were ever owed any money, or that the President was unable to pack his cronies on frivolous leisure trips due to lack of funds?? Nigerians wake up abeg!

Family › Re: Homosexuality And Its Adverse Effects On The Family by blackpanda: 2:11pm On Jun 15, 2013
4 Play: Polygamy is an even more insidious institution as it legitimises gender inequality and promotes discordant family relationships as well as sub-optimal childcare compared to monogamous marriages. Yet, polygamy remains legal in Nigeria with 70 years old man legally able to marry a 13 year old girl as a fourth wife.

Unless you are a closet homosexual or have suppressed tendencies, these families do not affect you. Homosexuality is not a virus and remains a minor s-exual preference even in countries that tolerate it.

How does a barren woman or an impotent man procreate? By logical implication, society should prohibit such people marrying.

The world's population will continue to increase as homosexuality will always remain a minor preference in a population. There is no iota of evidence that homosexuality increases with acceptance.

Yes, so the barren and impotent cannot have s-ex. An illogical position to adopt.

Acceptance promotes honesty at the expense of denial and dishonesty which is what we currently have where closet homosexuals, owing from fear arising from societal disapproval, marry whilst continuing their homosexual relationships in secret. Indeed, the family system is strengthened where an honest and realistic approach is adopted. Driving homosexuals underground serves no just cause.

The body of research is hardly conclusive. See for instance: Siegel and Perrin’s report also cites three studies done in the United States and Europe—two involving lesbian mothers and the third one involving men and women whose adult children reported they’d had a parent involved in a same-sex relationship. Those studies similarly found no difference in outcomes for the children as compared with children of heterosexual parents. http://www.bu.edu/today/2013/gay-parents-as-good-as-straight-ones/

Black have far higher rates of HIV than non-Blacks but no one in this forum, including you, will accept this as a basis for discrimination against Blacks.

In reality, acceptance of homosexuality will aid the confinement of STD epidemics arising from gay s-ex within the gay community. The present situation with the hostility towards homosexuality means that many homosexuals maintain public s-exual relationships with the opposite s-ex whilst maintaining private ones with the same sex. The equivalent of the ''low down'' brothers in the US. Again, discrimination is counter-productive and literally unhealthy for society as a whole.

Again, no evidence that homosexuality spreads. You have two choices; accept reality or practice discrimination which drives homosexuality underground with the inevitable counter-productive effects.

LBT: Don't mix things up: the reasons most people ain't going to russia is the language barrier(few of them speak english while fewer speak other languages apart from russian, secondly people go to countries where they already have family and friends.
Then following ur analogy, how come more people are migrating to france and germany than russia. Obviously ur assumptions are baseless. Russia is one of the worst countries in terms of per capita income. The only thing they have is nuclear power, that's all

In terms of places for humans to live on this planet, russia is one of the worst. With no regards whatsoever for human rights, a long history of ruthless and tyranical govts and continous suppression of any form of opposition or dissenting views. Heck, nobody wakes up in the morning and prays to find him/herself in russia! Now, america on the other hand is the most sought after places, not jst to visit but to migrate. An american visa is worth more than a million russian visas
Foreign Affairs › Re: Russian Parliament Passes Anti-gay Bill In a 436-0 Votes by blackpanda: 7:37am On Jun 12, 2013
Well its not surprising. There's a parallel line btw countries that advocate freedom and the protection of human rights, and those that seek to continously enslave people with no regards for their rights.
Am very sure the whole world knows which group russia falls into. The country is reputed as a home to some of the most ruthless tyrants in mankinds history. Certainly this is not a model Nigeria wants to follow. Gays are here to stay. They re our brothers, sisters, friends, relatives and even parents. There's no law anyone can pass to change that. The worst u can do is to make pple hide their relationships
