The brain doesn't rest, it is always busy and it is the most hard working because it does the most work. Now let me ask you, between a water pump and a computer , which one is doing more work...

The heart doesn't receive signal for it's activity from the brain. The heart has what is called SA node which generates impulses for it's contraction. The brain only works to either speed up the beat or slow it down depending on other prevailing circumstances. So between the brain and d heart directly, d heart doesn't need d brain to work. But if d heart stops beating for more than 5mins, d brain and the whole body is gone.

Nice...but before I clap for you let's not forget what this thread was all about. Which part of the body listed in most hard working and which one can't we do without. I believe we can comfortably live with an artificial heart...but you cannot live without a brain. The heart only pumps blood as it's single function whereas the brain does a whole lot more. The brain wins on all levels.

Different parts if the brain control different parts of the body...If you remain the whole brain...All the parts of the body will not function and will die. Op isn't talking about the one that can stop working. He asked for the one that does not rest, which is obviously the heart. The brain doesn't really stop working, but it can slow down it's activities which is a form of rest. The heart cannot do the same, otherwise even the brain will shut down, if cerebral blood flow drops beyond the level that can be tolerated.

Don't you have a brain? Just because you don't hear or feel your brain doesn't mean it's not working...The brain works harder because it does a whole lot while all the heart does is to pump blood. Will you rate a computer lower than a water pump ?

Don't display your ignorance publicly...when you are brain dead, you need to be placed on life support which helps you breathe and maintains other vital signs. Once the machine is switched off...you die

Na lie o...Na brain. The brain Controls and coordinates all aspects of the body. If you brain stops working everything else stops. If your heart stops, you don get heart attack be that but you may not die. There can be a heart transplant but we never hear of brain transplant before o.

Most importantly...you are not alive because your heart is beating or because you can breathe through your nose. You are alive because your brain tells your nose to breathe and your blood absorbs the oxygen and the brain then tells the heart to pump the oxygenated blood to the parts of the body which it is needed. The brain is the master key.

Some people quoted me saying there have been a successful brain transplant and I asked them to provide the source or link to the info...another said the body can function without the brain and gave an example of persons who are brain dead but still alive. I clarified that, persons that are brain dead are usually on life support and the machine tries to do the work of the brain by keeping the organs working. Once its switched off, the person dies. Another said the heart is always pumping and I made them understand that there are many people who use pace makers which are electronic hearts. They do not beat but still pump blood. The heart has only one function which even it is not in charge of while the brain does multiple tasks. I dont know if anyone posting here is using his heart to reason and post on Nairaland. Simply because you can hear the heart beat does not mean that the most hard working...remember that empty vessels make the largest noise.

They should be proactive by commencing investigations as to where the bodies are, take charge of the autopsy (to ensure the results are not tampered with to hide a crime) and report to stakeholders on their findings or commence criminal investigation if foul play is suspected.
