See whahala - what about toyota's that have been shipped to Africa - Accelerator jaming to the floor - The importance of appropriate infrastructure in Nigeria can not be over specficed. |
Toyota has announced the recall of vehicles in the US, Europe and China over concerns about accelerator pedals getting stuck on floor mats. The firm has announced plans to recall 1.1 million more cars in the US a day after saying it was suspending sales of eight popular US models. According to an application to China's quality control office, it wants to recall 75,552 RAV4 vehicles there. Toyota also announced 750 jobs could go at its Burnaston plant in the UK. The positions would be lost before August. "[Last year] was a tough year for Toyota Manufacturing UK," the carmaker said. "This decision is related to production capacity and efficiency, not to production volumes." Toyota said no decision had been taken about how the jobs would go, but added that it was not currently considering compulsory redundancies. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8484498.stm |

The latest rejection of this bill - clearly confirms to move forward in this country the action lies in the hand of masses |
The Freedom of Information Bill suffered another major setback at the House of Representatives on Thursday as lawmakers rejected a fresh bid to revisit the document. Thursday’s development, coming in spite of the assurances by the House that it would pass the bill, left the document in an apparent state of hopelessness. Twenty-one members of the House led by the Chairman of the Committee on Rules and Business, Mr. Ita Enang, had sponsored a motion seeking to re-commit the FOI bill to the Committee on Information/National Orientation and Justice. The idea, according to the sponsors, is to allow the committee to conduct a public hearing on the bill and allow members of the public to trash out any grey areas. Presenting the motion, Enang said, “Dear colleagues, the motion on this subject is asking for one resolution; that the FOI bill be re-committed to the Joint Committee on Information and Justice to conduct a public hearing and bring its recommendations on the bill. “Colleagues may please recall that when the bill was read a second time, it was committed to the Committee of the Whole. “But, from serious issues of law raised by members, it has become pertinent that the public be heard on the provisions, and members may also make presentations in the course of the hearing. “I, therefore, pray you, dear colleagues, to please support that this motion, with a simple, non-committal prayer, be passed so that you will have an opportunity to make inputs before the bill is listed for consideration in Committee of the Whole.” After the motion was read, the Speaker, Mr. Dimeji Bankole, called for votes on whether to approve it, but there was a thunderous “nay.” Bankole, who appeared shocked over the reaction of his colleagues, immediately called for an executive session (behind closed doors). The chamber again thundered “nay,” leaving both Bankole and the sponsors of the motion bewildered. The speaker then said, “As your speaker, I will always do what you say (to reject the bill). “It appears that more work needs to be done; I therefore, stand down the motion.” One of the sponsors of the motion, Mr. Ezuiche Ubani, expressed disappointment over the decision of the House. He said, “The speaker said that more work has to be done; what more work are we going to do again? “This bill has spent so much time in this House; it is a simple bill that will do all of us good but I just can’t understand why my colleagues are afraid of it. “I don’t know what else we are to do; but we shall continue to push for the passage of the bill. This is not the end yet. “If they are talking of lobbying, we have to talk to more stakeholders to meet with members and still try to assure them that this bill is good and means no harm to them.” Ubani commended the “courage” of the 21 members for coming out openly to support the bill in spite of the stiff opposition against it in the House. The 21 courageous members are Ita Enang, C.I.D Maduabum, Sylvester Ogbaga, A.T. Sam-Sokwam, Adegoke Festus, George-Ford Nwosu, Mohammed Garba, Shuaibu Abdulihi, Samson Osagie and Emmanuel Adedeji. Others are Bala Kuta, Patricia Etteh, Sani Saleh-Minjibir, Takori Sani, Ezuiche Ubani, Mutu Nicholas and Ishaku Shara. Also on the list are Mohammed Monguno, Jacobs Elubiosu, Aminu Shagari and Samaila Mohammed. The House of Representatives had, on June 3, 2008, refused to debate the FoI Bill, barely 24 hours after the Senate concluded a public hearing on it. It took the Deputy Speaker, Alhaji Bayero Nafada, about 20 minutes to douse the pandemonium generated by the development. Journalists covering the House had threatened to boycott its activities if the bill was not given a considerable time to facilitate its passage. But the sponsor of the bill, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, had blamed the behaviour of her colleagues on the fear of the media. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201001222363078 |

I require more clarification on the above topic . The following scriptures says 1 Luk 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, crushed down, full and running over, they will give to you. For in the same measure as you give, it will be given to you again. 2. If I give to the poor i lend to God - . 3. Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. And i am sure they are many more scriptures that deal with this matter. Is seedtime about money -- more to come shortly Please share your thoughts on this matter |

semid4lyfe:But dont you fear that record would be destroyed in the world cup - I have a feeling the current setup is going to concede a lot of goals |
paddy_lo:40% cant be right - you must also understand poverty in philly will be measured differently with the poverty in Lagos - I only asked a simple question " Is BRF not losing focus " |
naija_swag:Will a Nigerian holding a U.s passport be treated in this retaliatory manner. The other question what is the number of Americans that actually travel into Nigeria i am sure the number is very insignificant |
NTA opinion poll - Nigeria's avenue of spreading propaganda - abeg give me break |
Wrex:I agree he has delivered on the sf mandate but the fear is that when they play teams in the WC with the current squad >Nigeria should expect basketball style scores against them. |
tpia.: |
see why i have said you were illogical on the above topic - Their is absolute no correlation btw overwhelmed with people or overwhelmed with festive activities. try again |
Go and sit down with your illogical reasoning - I asked a simple question - Lagos is already overwhelmed with festive activities why add another one at the expense of the people |
is this man Dr. Babangida Aliyu a member of the PDP or otherwise |
Dont get technical with me - The fact that an event is free to attend does not hide the obvious that it will have associated costs for the individual travelling to the so called free event. Please let us remain on point " Lagos not need another carnival we already the eyo festival" People in Ajejunle are suffering |
