Their nothing to detract about this man. it is only fool that would speak against what these man has acheived in 2 yrs . I am sure if he were allowed the man would have showed the rest of Nigeria on how to build a power plant in 2 yrs

But unfortunately i doubt if our government is thinking this way. Complete waste of valuable limited resources. For every N1 awarded to projects in Nigeria only 20kobo is actually spent Inflation of project prices is killing Nigeria

Still Useless - cant even beat common Everton.

If the America Justice system can recover  £567Mill from halliburton for contract that was executed outside of itS jurisdiction then the Nigerian people are owed at least $8 Billion dollars ( N1 400 000 000 000) such an amount  properly executed in education, electricity, health, transportation would move Nigeria at  least 10 years forward.   

A good and competent Government will do the following.

1. Cancel the existing contract - A contract that at the point of initiation was to completed by another ccredible bidder at $2.1 Billion but was awarded in stages to halliburton (tskj) $2.1 billion, $1.5 Billon $2.2 Billion making a total of almost  $6 Billion. The fact of the matter the whole award process lack transparency and no proper management process would have been put in place to monitor the execution of the contract.  And  I suspect the standard of the job would never have been done to an approved international specfication or standard


2.  Recover the $6 Billion paid i believe our legal framework will allow this as the entire award  process was flawed.

3.  Recover a similar amount of  $567Million from Halliburton (tskj) that was paid to the America Justice system. That money belongs to Nigeria

4.  At least $1 Billion in interest and other punitive payments

5.  At least another $0.5 Billion in civil damages payments

6. Recover  $180 Million that was paid to the Nigerian crooks.

The People have spoken - Bullies are generally cowards - once you stand up against them they normally back down. I believe the people of Ekiti have stood up against bullies callled PDP . My prayer is that this momentum that started would engulf the rest of Nigeria. The days of imposing failures termed leaders on the people of Nigeria must come to end.

NIGERIA IS A BIG JOKE - i wash my hands completely

Justice Olubunmi Oyewole of Ikeja High Court on Monday sentenced to 76 years a former course tutor at National Teachers' Institute (NTI) Distance Learning Centre, Abesan, Lagos, Olaleye Oladapo, for stealing, forgery and altering of tuition fees receipts.

Olaleye is to serve four years each, on the 13-count charge of which he was found guilty, including stealing, and two years each on the 12-count charge of forgery and uttering.

According to him, the sentence shall run concurrently, starting from September 25, 2007 when he was remanded in prison custody after the court refused his bail applications, while the court ordered the defendant to make restitution on the sums stolen to the coffers of National Teachers' Institute (NTI).

While delivering his judgement, Oyewole held that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has proved its case beyond reasonable doubt. The defendant was accused of receiving school fees from students who couldn't be bothered to go through the rigour of going to the bank; and was issuing fake receipts, while all the money was going into his private pocket.

He was initially arraigned before the court on an 88-count stealing, forgery and altering to which he pleaded not guilty.

At the end of the prosecution's submission, the defence made a no case submission.

However, the no case submission was only upheld in respect of 53 of the 88 allegations.

The prosecution then amended the charge to reflect the remaining 25 charges, in respect of which the defendants entered his defence still maintaining his not guilty submission.

However, Olaleye's counsel, Ademola Olowoyeye, entered a plea for clemency on Olaleye's behalf, despite insisting that he committed no crime.

Process of implementing the gas master plan, to meet government’s  target of 10,000 mega watts of electricity by 2011, kicked off yesterday.

The master plan was designed to provide  necessary infrastructure to channel excess gas from oil exploitation, to power the numerous power generating plants being built in the country.

At the commencement of the two-day event, 15 potential investors shortlisted to run the new gas policy, including Gazprom of Russia, were announced, and the timeline of activities leading up to when they would be franchised  to start implementing their plans were released.

The shortlisted companies include Gazprom (Russia) and Britsish Gas and Centrica (Britain), GasNatural and UnionFanosa (Spain) and EoN Rhugas (Germany).

Others were Shell (Anglo Dutch), Chevron (USA), PTT (Thailand), Global Energy/ Hanover (Nigeria/USA), Statoil Hydro (Norway) Gail (India), Kogas (Korea), Oando and Sahara Energy (two indigenous companies).

Based on their charge, the new deadline to end gas flaring has now been put at 2011, when  investors who finally get the franchise would have started processing unutilised gas that is currently flared.

Making these known at the gas infrastructure  investor briefing yesterday in Abuja,  Group Managing Director,  Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr David Ige, said flared gas that is unutilised by the end of 2011, would be used by those franchised to provide various gas infrastructural facilities.

According to a presentation by Ige,  it  starts with the launch of the information memorandum and briefing session for potential bidders, while on May 8, they are to confirm their intention to bid and state composition of consortium if available.

May 16 will be the deadline for receipt of clarification requests, while clarifications by the Federal Government would be prepared by May 22 , the same day that clarifications (online or physical workshop) would be closed.

Deadline for the receipt of bids is September 18; announcement of bidders who passed stage one and opening of stage two Performance Offers will be done on October 16, while validation of bids and confirmation by the Federal Government of successful franchisees will take place on October 23.
