I once had a  dream  about yar adua, and in the dream I was told the alternative if yar adua do not want the yorubas to go. let me tell you first about the dream, i saw a man with a sacrifice(ebo) in the dream  and i heard someone says ebo ti gba, ( it is accepted)  and in the dream they said the only only solution is either he let the yoruba go or the saw man who brought the ebo should bring another ebo or Turai and yar adua first child should bring two ebo and take it to ibadan at 1 pm. and  there should not be a coffin they have to take the ebo nake thru the street of ibadan. and from the first point street they start they should start counting from 1 to 100 street. When they get to the 100th street, they would meet a three junction street. orita meta. And leave  the ebo there.

I have had to discuss this dream with some people.

So if he does not want the yorubas to go, they should go look for the man that carry the ebo. Like I said, it was a dream, i once had about yar adua sickness.

Peps, calm down. From I_laugh post, you can tell he's a beneficiary of the system. When top goverment officials saunter into his office "unannounced", this can only suggest he's  partaking of the national cake (or aggresively striving to get his hands on the crumbs). Why won't he defend their criminal habits?

Either way, I only laugh when people compare Nigeria to the UK or US.  Obama has a thoroughly fortified car, so speaker of the house orders 4 jeeps? Yar has over 4 plans in the Presidential fleet yet we don't have a national carrier? How many airlines exist in America? How many automobile manufacturers are in Nigeria?  American leaders deserve all that they get. They have earned it.

The kind of leadership we need in Nigeria is yet to be in sight! Radical. Anyone who can't drive a 504 assembled in Nigeria should not run for office! Shikenna. All the police and security retinue should be cut down drastically, particularly for governors. We have to start attracting the right calibre of people into goverment, not the pick pockets now parading themselves as leaders,  Shame!  angry

Dear Friend

To hire a red camera - between 250 - 350 pounds per day or 1450 for the week = N86800 or N359600

6500 pounds sounds like a fair price

If this lady really spent 3.5 MIl on this video then this automatically equates to the biggest rip off of all times. There is nothing absolutely special about the video. Any good producer will have done the same for 3/4 of a million. Complete waste of money.

If given a hundred chances to guess the meaning of her new song, you will blow them all up just like I would have, before speaking with her. Bouqui Bukola Folayan is definitely determined to take contemporary gospel music as high up the ladder as she can.

Bouqui real name Bukola Folayan

advertisement
She dropped the song to great applause in the last quarter of last year, October to be precise, and it caused quite a great stir in the gospel circuits as to what exactly she meant to say in the chorus. Some helped to conclude that she simply needed a rhyme and that was why she came up with the not-so-clear tongue-twister for a chorus.

The real meaning of the hit track ‘Morile’ proves that the rapper is just as creative and witty as her hair styles are. From the ‘red-head’ break and now over to the 80s look, this singer is as daring and as bold.

The chorus done in Yoruba language talks of the massive earth and the splendour of its creator. According to the singer, it can be summarised in English as ‘O Lord, my God; when I in awesome wonder consider all the works thy hands have made- I say how great thou art’.

She came about the song while driving around a city outside London in the company of a friend. The city had many high rise buildings and somehow they began to play with rhymes on the features of the place and the result was the Morile chorus.

Incidentally she was to see her producer Skillz same day to continue her recording and she sang it to his hearing; that was the beginning of the making of the now popular song- Morile.

As a matter of recall, the rap diva had told us then in October 2008 that the details of an international deal was being consummated and she didn’t want any misrepresentation and so would rather not supply additional details to that which was already making the rounds.

Ask about the ‘foreign body’ she told us highjacked her in our last interview with her and she says ‘why do you people just keep going on about it?’

Updating the reports, Bouqui says ‘I’m not signed to any record label. I’m on my own label- Bouqui’s Place Entertainment. I’m however being managed by an artiste management company in the UK. What if I was talking about heavenly bodies then (on foreign body). Why can’t you just believe’; she laughed it off.

Well, she did shoot the video for Morile in London and it has really upscaled the song further. The elaborate and classic video was shot and directed by Skillz, of the JJC squad; the same who produced her new album.

The video was released on her birthday February 17 and it debuted across Nigerian television same day.

Since its debut, your votes have kept it on ‘Your Top 7 video’ charts and so we enquired of the making of the video.

“I’d always wanted something different. I thought I needed a new concept and I definitely knew I didn’t want to do set (make-believe stages).

After a show at the KICC church in London in December, I knew it was time to shoot. So we projected for the third week in January. I wrote a first script which my producer rejected saying it was not ‘fun’ enough because Morile is a happy song.

I was in a dream in the script and suddenly I became a superstar. Then people were rejoicing with me.
Image
Bukola Folayan
It was a ‘fun’ dream but very ‘super starish’ which a lot of people may not be able to identify with.

So we dropped it. As for the second one which we eventually used, I was just in my room and Skillz called me over the phone to get on the internet to see a particular car- the Ferrari Limo. He screamed, ‘We’re using that car however we’re gonna get it’.

Since Easter 2007, Bouqui has been frequenting the United Kingdom, reason being that of her foreign deal and a new album whose waiting is now over.

The album, her second solo effort has being christened ‘Re-definition’ and is now ready. ‘The album is ready and should drop soon. I have it here mastered and marketers have been calling me’, she submitted.

The singer who’s breezed in and out of the country almost a dozen times since last Easter, has spent more times in the UK than in Nigeria in the last one year.

And she did get the car and not just the car but even a bus. ‘The entire party scene was shot on a bus. It’s the same that Lil’ Wayne used in his Lolli Pop video.

That particular limo- the Ferrari Limo, is the only one in the entire world and its owned by two Italian brothers- actually their father. You should have seen the raucous it caused on the road, even oyinbos were running to take the picture of the car. My director had to be shouting “Get of the set, we’re trying to shoot a movie”’.

The singer had at a time - before the video was shot- hinted that she had a budget of ten thousand pounds for the video. Now did she overshoot that budget and by how much? ‘Don’t even go there.

I spent well over that amount. It cost me close to £15, 000, that’s like N3.5million’, she revealed.

What exactly is Bouqui trying to achieve by spending so much on shooting a video; especially when the gospel market in Nigeria does not appear very competitive in terms of video production? She says , ‘I want a video that can stand competition anywhere and at every level. The fact that it is gospel does not mean it should be second-class.

No way! In fact, the genre is the more reason it should be first class. I’m tired of seeing  boring gospel videos that without even hearing the lyrics, you can tell from the bad video quality that the song is Christian’, she finished off.

PoliticsStashing Looted Funds In Swiss Banks Is Vanity — Jonathan by blacksta(op): 3:11pm On Apr 13, 2009
By Ihuoma Chiedozie, Abuja
Published: Monday, 13 Apr 2009

Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan, on Sunday, described the prevailing practice of stashing looted funds from the national treasury among some public officials in the country as vanity.

Jonathan said most of those involved in the practice would eventually not spend up to 10 per cent of the loot, adding that their children might not be able to trace the accounts in the event of the death of the errant officials.

He, therefore, admonished Nigerians to shun corruption and “all the vain things that charm us most as a nation.”

The vice-president spoke while delivering his Easter message to the nation at the Aso Villa Chapel in the Presidential Villa.

He said, “Nigeria has so much money stashed outside this country and most of these monies were stolen from public treasury.

“It is regrettable that people involved will not even need 10 per cent of the money they steal from government until they die.

“Some of them hide these monies in Switzerland and their children will not even see it or be able to retrieve it. “These are all vain things.”

The vice-president noted that if 50 per cent of the monies were kept in Nigerian banks, there would be enough funds to give out long-term loans at affordable lending rates to the citizenry for agriculture and other industrial purposes.

He further noted that if all Nigerians should see corrupt practices as vanity, the country would be a better place.

He said, “Having worked at top levels of government for almost 10 years now — both at the state and federal levels — I know that most of the problems we have are vain things that charm us most, things that are trivial.

“I believe that as a nation, if we sacrifice most of these mundane things that are not critical to us to the blood of Christ, this country will be a better place.”

Advising Nigerians to use the Easter season for deep reflections, Jonathan prayed “that the entire Nigerian nation will sacrifice these vain things that charm us most to the blood of Christ.”

The vice-president worshiped at the chapel alongside his wife, Patience, and other family members, his aides and top government functionaries.

LAGOS — The official vehicles imported for the office of the speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Dimeji Bankole, are still lying fallow at the port in Lagos a month after they arrived the country.

A source told Vanguard at the weekend that the four jeeps have been held down at the port by security checks which had yet to be conducted on them.

According to the source, the security checks on the vehicles are necessitated by the fact that they are bulletproof.

“ I wouldn’t know why those who are supposed to check the vehicles have not done their job. Those vehicles arrived the Lagos port for up to four weeks now. They say those checks are necessary because of the bulletproof they carry and for this, the speaker has been denied use of the jeeps and still left with the ones that break down all the time,” said the source.

The vehicles are also said to have incurred much demurrage because of their delayed clearance.

Media Assistant to the speaker, Mr. Kayode Odunaro, who confirmed the development, said the vehicles actually arrived the country over four weeks ago, saying without the mandatory security checks, the jeeps would not be released.

According to him, the office of the speaker is hoping that the checks are conducted as soon as possible, so the vehicles are cleared at the port.

Odunaro said two of the vehicles would be kept in Lagos for the speaker’s official use, while the remaining two would be sent to Abuja also for his use.

He said the speaker had to contend with the old vehicles in his convoy which break down frequently in the course of his official assignments.

It would be recalled that late last year, the speaker was grounded at the presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, for some hours, following the breakdown of his official vehicle.
