I tried the three still the same reply.

I'm guessing you don't have a memory card. @kenomobola may be right. Install diskinfo from the play store, you should be able to find out the actual size of your storage. That said, if you have an sdcard, you can copy files directly there from your pc

Pls can someone tell me how to play movies stored on SD card on my MX player app. The only movies that appear are the ones saved on my internal storage.

I think the problem might be with your phone or sdcard or maybe with mxplayer permissions. Normally MXplayer should be able to detect all videos in your phone -unless they are located in a hidden folder.
What android version is your phone on? You can check the permissions on mxplayer app settings if storage is enabled. Another thing you can try is updating mxplayer

I did a fsck check a while ago without the installation disks and it fixed the problem.
Am told it's temporary ,hope it will not return.

It's usually temporary, as long as you don't have a bad hard drive

I booted up my Debian OS this morning and I found the following message displayed on the screen

File system of the root system failed
The root filesystem on the /dev/sda1 requires a manual fsck
/bin/sh: can't access tty;

What can I do to correct the errors?

Do you have a livecd or an installation thumbdrive? Boot with that and do your fsck from there

Thanks baba
I've done that and I blocked Android OS from using data. still, Android OS is consuming the data despite the blockage

Did you check data dictionary under noroot data firewall to see the apps using the most data?

Thanks for the reply

You cannot block ANDROID OS background data
Please help with another method

install noroot data firewall or noroot firewall from the play store, enable only the apps you want to be able to connect

All that green. Seriously, I don't like it.

Backlog of beef with Clem and his Ubuntu sniping to gain users for Mint.

And I don't like Mint apps, their software app, duplication.
Pretending to be a standalone distro but really just a Ubuntu spin.

Yes. I've got beef.

Heh, I actually just see mint as another flavour of ubuntu

Which distro are you using cinnamon/mate on?

Don't tell me Mint.

Why, what is wrong with mint? I dual boot between ubuntu mate and linux mint but cinnamon is on mint

Gnome 3 didn't agree with my ancient hardware(kept freezing) plus my dislike of that DE is known. Ubuntu moving to it was a bummer for me.

Used it a bit though, then ran into some funny issue I can't exactly recall so I switched.

To be fair though, my Neon experience has been meh. In that it is exactly what it was when I installed it. Haven't done more than install a few apps and copy documents onto it.

Haven't tweaked a thing. Not even changed a setting.

Only had one issue with the file indexer. Took a while to index the over 50k documents I had on it and was slowing it down.
I later found out that was the issue and would pause it when i needed to use the PC . But when it completed the index, it's been fine ever since.

Doesn't get in my way so I'm good

My hardware too isn't particularly high, that's why I use mate or xfce or sometimes cinnamon

How is it? I know you preferred Unity to other DEs at one time

Agreed, and yet.. they are many things to do in the life than to dedicated 3-4gb of ram to run just an operating system... even on my 32GB workstation.. I cringe when OS crosses the 2gb ram (that is with other applications loaded) not to talk of operating system and UI alone chopping 4GB!!!..

Gnome is essentially a redhat playground project hence they don't care to improve on performance. Kde on the otherhand is still user driven which is why most of the improvement on their latest release focuses on optimisation, leaner, faster, smoother.

Yeah, I read that the kde folks actually listen to people unlike the people at gnome. If I can make out time, I'll try it out again

Yea, Mate is a nice DE. I have seen lots of videos on it. I dont just know where it plays on RAM usage. Maybe somewhere in btw the heavy and low RAM DEs.

Something like that. Not quite as light as xfce, but like I said, think gnome 2.x.
Maybe i'm old fashioned, but i've never taken to gnome3.x or kde 5.x. I prefer the previous UIs. In fact I actually preferred kde 3.x to 4.x, but just when I was getting to at least adjust to it they released kde 5. I know people say kde5 is better and stuff but I just don't feel the UI

I share your view but in this age and time anybody using any laptop less than 4GB RAM should start considering light-weight distros using XFCE (Xubuntu) and LXDE (Lubuntu) DEs. GNOME and KDE are basically moving towards providing graphical experience like their Windows and MacOS counterparts. Software features are increasing and code is getting larger. Even phones now have 8GB RAM not to talk of laptops so developers are not thinking of RAM restriction.

Mate DE is also ok (that's gnome 2.x with gtk 3 libraries)

Hi guys. Its been a while that I have grazed this parts. Quick question.. Is there anyone who by any chance still uses glo modem with say wvdial. I am doing some IoT work with RaspberryPi and I will be using a glo USB 3g dongle for Internet connection. The dongle works with Mtn but the coverage in the area I am deploying is very patchy. Feedbacks would be appreciated.

Wvdial! Wow! It's a long time I've used that, takes me back to my days of using a starcomms modem. Haven't used it for years. Have gotten lazy and just stick with a mifi modem

it doesnt bother to boot. it doesnt boot from the CD

Can you boot any bootable cds? Say your bootable windows cd if not then the problem is with your bios setting, the system is trying to boot from the hard drive before the cd. WHen your system starts, there should be a message that comes up for a very short time, something like press f2 or f10 or delete to enter setup

I downloaded the .iso file....however after burning it on the disc what I see is files and folders.

Thank you.

That's about right. When you want to boot it, what happens? Is it that the system doesn't bother to boot the cd or it starts to boot and fails?

I was thinking they'll have that windows 10 feature, that allows you to set a connection as metered connection in order to reduce background data usage.

Background data is generally minimal in linux unless you started a data consuming background process. While the a lot of distros check for available updates, most distros won't install without your authorisation.

I said impotence is a legitimate reason for a spouse to cheat on their partner. But the reality is that these things affect women far more than they affect men, but we just don't want to talk about them.

Fair enough. I just wanted to be sure you were not restricting it to just one gender

Didn't you read what I wrote? It's not only about loosing of shape, some women lose their ability to have an enjoy normal sex because her libido dies after having kids, some women they can't even get wet as a result which is akin to a man loosing his ability to have an erection. If your man looses his ability to have a erection as a 35 years old woman will you stay with him like that for the rest of your life or will you go out and have sex with another man?

Impotence is LEGITIMATE reason for a women to cheat on her husband just as diminished libido is a legitimate reason for a husband to cheat on his wife. That is my unapologetic opinion.

But is diminished libido on the part of the man a reason for a woman to cheat on her husband?

One thing you have to understand is that women sexual attachment is completely different from men sexual attachment.
Women are not sexually active, most times their love and emotional control their sexual desire.
But for a man sex has nothing to do with love and emotion, so a man will still have his love and emotional attachment to his lovely wife but my have sex with another girl.

But for a woman, she have to detached her love and emotion for her husband in order to have sex with the new man.

Unless you're a woman or a psychologist, i'm not sure you're qualified to make that assertion.
Romance / Re: Can A Man Love His Woman Dearly And Still Cheat On Her? by blackweaver(m): 11:39am On May 21, 2018
dalaman:

Some women have very bad genes and after giving birth to two or more children they totally lose their shape, figure and ability to have sex. Their body looses its form totally and they develop irritating stretch marks on some vital parts of their bodies, like their boobies, arms etc the skin around their belly becomes wrinkled like that of a 70 years old woman, their libido diminishes totally to the extent that they can't even get wet when sexually aroused. Sex then becomes a very big problem for them, they lose their confidence. They don't feel sexy anymore and that affects their ability to have and enjoy sex greatly. They can't have normal and regular sex. This affects some women in their mid 30s who have husbands within the same age bracket who are very sexual active. What do you then expect the men to do? To sit back and become celibate because they aren't enjoying sex with their wives any more for the rest if their lives or to go and look for it outside?

Men in such cases have very legitimate reasons to go and get sex outside because their wives can not please them sexually anymore.

Ok going by your argument, if the woman maintains her figure and it's the man that becomes shapeless, or if the woman no longer enjoys sex with her husband because he doesn't maintain his shape, would you also say that the woman would be justified in cheating?

Cheating is bad but some men have LEGITIMATE reasons to cheat on their wives. Marriage has a lot of vagaries associated with it.

I'm curious, what's an example of a "legitimate" reason for cheating?
