The policemen are taken from among the people; it means there's something wrong with the populace |
Does anyone think if the tables were turned and westerners were the ones duping us, it would not be said that we are allowing ourselves to be defrauded cos we're stupid? If the perpetrators were the westerners and Africans were falling victims, will the Africans not be prosecuted for trying to make money fraudulently as well? |
The idiots should be given life with no option of parole |
Why is it that the so-called 419 victims never get charged for attempting to steal or obtain money that does not belong to them? |
SeanT, please concentrate more on your studies than porn |
What exactly/specifically does Nigeria stand to gain from the presence of US military personnel in Nigeria? Is it wartime in Nigeria or what? |
How long did the ex-gov Alayagbangba get in prison? |
weev:I see you're Scottish. Pray, how many men in Scotland do you know who have taken their wives' names? No yarn us tory o |
MallamMusa:Was Moji raped? or was it consensual sex? |
I have read a number of Afam's contributions and I have to say I admire his knowledge. |
What exactly does America want to do on our soil? we are not a Nation that is constantly at war and so we dont need any bogus excuse for American military support. May God destroy Yar A'dua and the National Assembly members if they sell us completely to America. |
Does anyone have facts and evidence to take these allegations up with Michael McTighe? |
Leilah, is that really your photograph? |
Ujujoan:I understand your point. However, do you really think those who sincerely want to help move Nigeria forward will ever be allowed to do so? Before I got annoyed and decided to move back here, I tried to help in my own little way to change the mindset of those around me and in my own local government because I knew that I commanded some respect there. We had an association and had lots of youngsters in support. I was not willing to join any political party and many people were unhappy because I was not throwing money around for these people. I had a few friends with me trying to just let the people see reasons why they should not support anyone who has a history of bad politics or maladministration. Many people said it to my face that they'd rather support people who are spending money for them because thay was a sign that these people will spend more when they get into government. One known looter actually became the Local Govt Chairman for Ebute Metta in 1999. I made many friends who told me about the mentality of the average Nigerian having experienced similar things as I experienced. I dont see how anything can change until Nigerians themselves, in large masses, decide to change things. I am not a foreigner here in the legal sense of it but I still sometimes feel that I'll be better back in Nigeria: just not wanting to go back and feel frustrated at seeing people suffering in the midst of so much. i am very certain that the same people who run Nigeria down here have contributed to the present state of Nigeria. |
what's all the noise about? the first thing is to see what the Nigerian law says about incest and if he has fallen foul, he should be prosecuted. I believe the girl is of legal age. So the way to catch him out is if he has fallen foul of the law regarding incest or rape. I dont think any sane man will do that anyway |
I've read a number of posts here and i agree that we should be proferring solutions to the problems rather than using the identified problems to run the country down with our mouths and posts. Why should we criticize the country if we have NOTHING to offer it except to make things worse by verbally running it down? Nigeria has massive problems BUT we should identify the problems and SINCERELY work towards solutions. I dont agree with those who said developed Nations have also gone through this phase. We have been in this phase for too long considering all the potentials. We are not passing through this phase; we seem to be stuck in this bad phase. Time to find a way of passing through it. |
I read the story and I am of the impression that the girl is mentally distrubed. Not sure if she was used by her mother for begging as well. However, one thing is clear: the state of health facilities in Nigeria leaves too much to be desired |

may God punish anyone who has a friend or relative on that list and refuses to shop them to the authorities immediately I'm trying to get individual pictures of these people so I can see them a little better. I've got Adebowale Shekoni's pic here http://www.ustreas.gov/usss/wanted_sekoni.shtml Behold Abiodun Bakare http://www.secretservice.gov/wanted_bakare.shtml |
This man seems to be more interested in selling a book than in giving out factual information. I wont be suprised if most of what he will write therein has been vetted by the horrible Babangida |
I have not read what preceeded this, so I hope I am not taking this out of context 4 Play:Where exactly are the WMD's? Or am I just to accept everything America says without proof but if any other person/group says something, we should always demand proof? The Palestinians also elected their Government and what did America and Israel say about the ELECTED Palestinian govt? |
VUB:What's this person doing on here? |
Even if soludo is a thief at leaast he is working and has redefined the nigerian banking sector,No wonder VICADE is tucked away in the little town of Stirling. How can any man justify maladministration with the mentality that others are also guilty of same? |
Na papa God dey maintain our roads? Abi na papa God say make all of us dey corrupt and to waste money instead maintaining proper infrastructure? I am sick of hearing Nigerians appeal to God when they constantly mess things up themselves. If a student wants to sit an exam without studying, he will fail and he should not ask God why he failed. He should ask himself why he did not prepare |
Why do people consistently try to draw parallels between Nigeria and the US? completely different countries people by humans with different mindsets and government by Governments with different priorities. The fact that something is practiced in the US does not imply that it will be good for Nigeria. |
