Foreign AffairsRe: London Knife crime by Blatant: 1:06pm On Jul 10, 2008
Kids in the UK are actively taught to report their parents. Schools have specially trained teachers who brainwash the children and make them believe that their parents dont love them as much as the government. The result is that parents lose control of discipline in their homes and the children become extremely unruly and uncontrollable.

White children go through this also but they have a more supportive society than black children have. Black children dont get to see any positive black role models, all they see on TV about black people is rap music and atheletes and this will make them have less aspiration than their white counterparts who see white rols models on TV everyday.

When a parent has outlawed from having firm control over his/her children in early years, those children have a tendency to turn out wild, especially in the pervading circumstances for a lot black people in the UK (London in particular).

The UK has lost the plot in a lot of things, not just about children but so many other things that have been turned on their heads. I heard recently that the government is seeking ways to increase conviction rates in cases where a woman reports a man for rape. It's political correctness driving the wrong moves and the wrong focus. If a woman regrets sex with a man, she can claim rape and the man is already guilty as charged unless he has irrefutable evidence to the contrary.

Too many times when there are powerful pressure groups, they turn everything upside down. The children's pressure groups have the source of their incomes and existence based on continued push for children's rights irrespective of what this does to the rest of society. . . that's the only way for them to justify their continued existence

Are these political anomalies not the same we constantly accuse OBJ and Yar Ardua of engaging in? So why is the world not up against them?
Foreign AffairsRe: British-America Tobacco Selling Cigerette To Children In Africa! by Blatant: 10:32am On Jul 02, 2008
I saw a documentary last night on what BAT is doing in Africa with regards to recruiting our youths to take up smoking. It's sad that Africa is the place where these goats of multinationals chose to make profits at the expense of human lives; things they wont do in their land.
What exactly are Africans themselves and their politicians doing about these kind of rubbish?
Foreign AffairsRe: Mugabeland by Blatant: 5:16pm On Jun 27, 2008
It appears you are not happy to hear the west being mentioned.

If Britain was not huffing and puffing so much, I'll not be saying it's hypocrisy. . . especially when they are lying about the reason for the focus. Ok, I have seen a post implying that the people's wish be overriden. However, that is not what I believe most posters would wish.

The HYPOCRISY is in the fect that they do not ever say that their interest is because of the white displaced farmers, rather they claim that it is because of suffering Zimbabweans. If it is in the interest of suffering people, where were they when OBJ's regime razed Odi?

The situation is foistered upon Zimbabwe as a result of bad leadership, no one has disputed that fact. However, for you to say that no one should mention any other thing in relation to it especially the involvement of the west is nothing but an attempt to always be close-minded about things and not wanting to look at the issue in totality.

I live in the UK and it irks me to see the hypocrisy of Britain in this. That does not mean I am a Mugabe fan. it just means that I despise the hypocritical attitude. I also despise Mugabe's nonsense and inhumanity towards his own people.
Foreign AffairsRe: Mugabeland by Blatant: 4:20pm On Jun 27, 2008
Kobojunkie:
It is one thing to say Mugabe is bad in one statement and in the next statement say the people's will do not need to be upheld. Do you see how those two statements somehow conflict?

Are the BBC and CNN now Governments? Do they speak for all people or governments now?? Is Al Jazeera in on it too??

Using that reasonining, I would also label America's interest in Darfur today as being hypocritical when I compare the flooding of american media with news from Darfur with what has been happening in Uganda for a long time. Does that help as well?? We have celebrities going over to Darfur and we do not have half enough of them going over to countries like Niger or Uganda. Does that then mean this is all hypocrisy?? Can we for once be objective??

Again, is CNN/BBC/Al Jazeer/NBC and the rest now Government?? Does their covering or not covering issues mean that they speak for all of the west now?? You do know that the Iraq and Afghanistan wars are still on but guess what?? They barely get coverage on those these days. Does that mean Government is still not in Iraq?? Does that mean people don't want to know what is going on down there?? Can we please be objective here in our dealings??
I still dont see anyone who said the will of the people should be overridden

BBC will not blatantly be on Zimbabwe's case if the authorities are also not on the case.

You can label America's interest in Darfur whichever way you deem fit but it is obvious to anyone in the UK that the intense interest in Zimbabwe is because of the white farmers who were booted off the land

Foreign AffairsRe: Mugabeland by Blatant: 4:07pm On Jun 27, 2008
I dont see anyone who has said Mugabe is not bad or who has said Zimbabwe is not burning.

It's the hypocrisy of Britain that riles some people up. Do you know that Zimbabwe has the the main news item on BBC for the past few weeks? Compare that with the happenings in other parts of Africa and you'll understand why some people will see the hypocrisy, especially if they live in the UK.

Why did other crisis situations not get half of this coverage?

FamilyRe: How Nigerians Raise Their Children by Blatant: 1:28pm On Jun 27, 2008
lucabrasi:
o don't see anything wrong with that,im sure you have heard of the saying"responsibility builds character" parents do it not just because they can't take care of the rest of the kids or the younger ones but so that the first son will be responsible and it also fosters love in the family,u can see the contrast between the family network in the west and africa,it s extended to the children taking care of the parents rather than putting them in a home like they do here, no matter the economic situation of a nigerian their children will always stay with them till he/she is ready to support him/her self that is not to say there are no bad parents
Good talk

Big B1:
How come no one is asking OBJ to go talk to his buddy?
I'm sure, he can relate directly to Mugabe's current state of mind.

OBJ's third term idea is not that far from what is taking place today in Zimbabwe.
why was there not so much noise by the British establishment and media when OBJ was plotting his third term?
Foreign AffairsRe: Mugabeland by Blatant: 1:13pm On Jun 27, 2008
You guys have very similar points of views:

* Mugabe has mismanaged Zimbabwe
* Mugabe is no longer a desirable leader for Zim

However, disagreements arise because some don't like the nosey and bossy nature of Britain's interference (I feel that way too, and I am British) while others don't seem to like that some say Britain is being nosey.

Essentially, the disagreement is about Britain's involvement in Zimbabwe. I think that's what the difference here is about.
Foreign AffairsRe: Mandela's Involment, A Great Example For African Leaders by Blatant: 2:04pm On Jun 26, 2008
Was Mandela not just pressurised into it?

I am wondering why he was not pressurised to make statements about other conflicts in Africa where several thousands of lives have been lost embarassed

This statement was made today by Joe Biden, (the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee):
This is bulls**t. This is malarkey. This is outrageous. Outrageous for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, sit in the Knesset , and make this kind of ridiculous statement," he said.
"He's the guy who's weakened us. He's the guy that's increased the number of terrorists in the world. His policies have produced this vulnerability the United States has."

War is a solution to war and until we clearly define terrorism without bias, we'll not be able to say whether or not war is a solution to terrorism
Foreign AffairsRe: Mugabe, Knight Of British Empire! by Blatant: 1:50pm On Jun 26, 2008
Mugabe has been stripped of his knighthood. Is that going to make life any better for the people of Zimbabwe?
Mandela was literally forced to speak against Mugabe. Why was he not forced to speak about and intervene in other troubled African countries?

PoliticsRe: Are Nigerian Soldiers Ready To Risk Their Lives? by Blatant: 2:09pm On Jun 24, 2008
oyb:
back when i was in school , people were intrested in the army because it meant they might one day be governor, minister, etc. have you forgotten that we had a stark raving illiterarte as minister of works and housing. that was all the motivtion for people to be in the army back then. i actually agree in some part with the poster - your typical nigerian soldier is a law unto himself, a thug with agun at his most menacing when facing down bloody civilains. even if you could take on one in a fight , his brothers would materilaize to uneven the odd and beat the crap out of you.

that said, the success of mend has little to do with their military skills. they too are just thugs with guns. the government needs to work on true soldiering - intelligence gathering and premption, not all this reactive behavior.
I remember the days of political soldiers too.

Is the soldier not just like the other Nigerian? except they use different tools. the average Nigerian wants to get to positions where he can make money and oppress ordinary citizens and the soldier also uses his position to oppress ordinary citizens. The pervading mentality within our society is one of oppressing those who dont have whatever we are privileged to have. Perhaps when we change that attitude, we will have a different kind of Army and a different kind of Police force.

It's a societal thing
CrimeRe: What A Father Did To His 2-yr-old Girl by Blatant: 1:59pm On Jun 24, 2008
LAKANYE~:
This is one of the reasons why a US millitary barracks should be planted in Nigeria. The Nigerian Men think they are gods over their women, and extend the same inhuman treatments upon their own child.
That father should be flogged 24 time every day for two years, because the abused child is two years old. If she is 5 years old, I would have recommend 60 lashes per day for six years as punishments for him against abuse on his daughter.
This is horrible, and the father should be taking to court and punished for his acts. What in the hell is wrong with Nigerian fathers?? If they are not impregnating their daughters, they are flogging them to death??
This is as daft as they come.

American military should come and help intervene in family inablances? Do you know how much America also has to deal with in respect to this kind of issues?

Back to topic, that man is a barbaric animal and i am sure he has psychotic problems. No normal human being will do that to his own child
