Foreign Affairs › Re: Are Nigerians Really This Bad , That Other African Countries Want Us Out? by Blatant: 8:57am On Jun 21, 2008 |
The problem is that we celebrate criminals. Why is it that we cant ALL, as a society, frown upon these acts and start making perpetrators feel leprous within the society? Because too many of us are actually in support of crime as long as it provides us with pecuniary benefits.
Nigerians are not alone in this. It's human nature more often than not but our economy makes ours more pronounced because we have more desperate people. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Mugabe Won't Quit! by Blatant: 8:51am On Jun 21, 2008 |
landis: This is very simple. Forget about Mugabe for a moment and answer this question:
let US/UK lift the sanctions and see if Zimbabwe would turn around within 6months.
I work in place where we are not allowed to do business with Zim. It is in our list. So get your fact write.
Note this down: Once MDC is elected:
1. sanction would be lifted 2. white farmers would be given back lands 3. aid + machines will pour-in
The west we say MDC is 'good guy' till 20yrs down the road when there is problem between them and we start all over again.
I really wonder why people cannot see whole picture:
To kill/finish a dog; YOU SIMPLY GIVE IT A BAD NAME.
MDC/UK/US used the 'aid agencies' to distribute food which is why MDC won. Go get your facts. Sadly both Mugabe + WEST have turned Zim people to pawn in the chess game. I also heard this from a Zimbabwean I met recently but I dont know how true it is |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Mugabe Won't Quit! by Blatant: 5:55pm On Jun 20, 2008 |
Kobojunkie: But , here is the problem. The Average american can not accurately point out Zimbabwe on a map. Thousands of Zimbabwean lives have been lost as a result of this conflict, not a single Western man/woman has died so far. Most all the so called white farmers that are being blamed for this have been successfully relocated to other countries including Nigeria where they now enjoy good treatment from the government.
The West, like the rest of the developed and developing world( including asia) know to hunt for resources to take care of their own first and others second. What makes you think they are wrong in trying to fend for their own while we continue to expect them to babysit us and not try to take what we have when we continue to sit with arms folded not realizing that it is in our best interest to join in and play the game with the rest of the world? What are they that is so new and evil to you??
Show me an example of ONE FRELLING NATION ON THIS PLANET that is Developed/Developing past where any state in Africa is right now that can not be classified as Hunters and Ravagers?? Look at Ghana, a clear example of a country learning that the best way is to adopt the Hunter/ravager strategy and is really benefitting a great deal from it too. Take a look at dubai, a nation that is becoming the ultimate example of how best to play the game and you think they are all evil for wanting to develop and fend for their own people?? ARE we out of our minds here Are you just unable to grasp what I'm writing or simply being mischieveous? Where did I say I have a problem with the west looking after their own interests? I don't have a problem with them being ravagers. I have a problem with us not seeing them for what they are. |

Iraq is definitely one of the several avenues for the US to keep it's economy invigorated. I dont mind that but I have issues with trying to pull the wool over our eyes about their reasons for attcking Iraq |

What stops us from being hunters and ravagers ourselves?? I prefer that to our continued existence as leeches. ROFLMAO!!! I dont have a problem with them being ravagers. I have a problem with us not seeing them for what they are. |

Pastor, the money is all in the pocket of Americans. It's not wasted. Money/resources can be said to be completely wasted when it has taken leave from your economy and has no way of multiplying to good effect. If it is still within the economy, it can only generate further wealth.
Comparing to Nigeria, the reason Nigeria has so much problems is because we steal money and send the money abroad to multiply within foreign economies and help them to develop |

Pastor PLC: Iraq war is for oil? What a shallow way of reasoning! Has US not sacrificed a lot for Iraqis? Saddam's threat was enough reason for US to act. The cause of that war dates back to September, 2001 attack against US. The Great Ones in the world and the evil Saddam were all happy that thousands of people died in 11th September, 2001 attack. What else are you talking? You obviously see only one side of the divide and your argument is not even deep enough anyway |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Gambia Threatens To Behead Two Latinos For Being Gay. by Blatant: 10:02am On Jun 11, 2008 |
If Gambia makes a law that it doesn't want gay people. gay people should stay away. No one has a right to tell Gambia what law to make and what punishment to impose for breaking laws.
I also have a couple of gay friends but I dont condone homosexuality and they know that I would rather have them stay in the west and not take their abnormal acts to 'my country' |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Gambia Threatens To Behead Two Latinos For Being Gay. by Blatant: 9:59am On Jun 11, 2008 |
Kobojunkie: I am quite sure the law of the land is not about what you think or do not think, neither is it about what you believe or accept or do not accept. It is the layed down law of the land that no Gays need apply/enter. The law is made clear and so people should learn to respect laws not go around trying to make it about their personal feelings and emotions. It is harsh but it is the law there and unless the people are complaining, I would that foreigners learn to respect the laws in foreign lands they choose to visit. kobojunkie, i'm beginning to like your opinions |
