The guy is a complete failure banking on sympathy as his last resort. Unfortunately he fooled a lot of Nigerians. He's the worst governor we've ever had. Very wicked thing. Imagine that...u did nothing for close to 4 years, yet you want to spend 4 more years...to do what now? He's not paying salaries and pensions...he's not commissioning any project...What has he bn doing with all d Federal Allocations he's bn receiving? What of d IGR? |

Sports › Re: FIFA Confirms That It Will Not Ban The NFF by blazer2018: 8:58pm On Aug 20, 2018 |
naptu2: That's because they know that they can get free money from the government. This free money from the government is seriously damaging our football. The NFF gets that money whether it performs well or not.
The government has no business paying millionaires in the Super Eagles "winning bonus" and allowances when there are hospitals to fix and schools to fund. Government funding of sports should be restricted to sports development in primary and secondary schools and in tertiary institutions.
Instead, the NFF should make our football attractive and sponsors will come rushing in. The NFF can make enough money from friendly matches, media rights (TV, radio, internet, etc), sponsors, etc to fund its activities if it makes our football attractive.
I remember how sponsors were falling over themselves to sponsor the Nigerian teams in 1996-1998 and how many countries and promoters were willing to pay us to play friendly matches. Note that I don't only mean Nigerian sponsors, because the fact is that the Eagles and Falcons can attract sponsorship from foreign companies if our football is as attractive as it was in 1996-1998. Ditto for our league. If football is like a religion in Nigeria, as you said, then it should have no problem attracting money if our football is developed. The English Premiership makes a lot of money from Nigeria.
The problem is that sponsors would demand accountability and a certain standard from the NFF and so the NFF prefers free money from government. The free money from government should stop! Kudos!!! Meaning that as any FA Chairman makes his bed, so will he lie on it...hmm I hope someone sees this and take a bold step to work on these points u raised...it is long overdue. |

Sports › Re: FIFA Confirms That It Will Not Ban The NFF by blazer2018: 5:29pm On Aug 20, 2018 |
naptu2: Then the government should stop funding the NFF. Simple!
FIFA already gives the NFF a lot of money and I personally believe that government has no business funding professional sport. In a country where football is like a religion; you think the sport won't suffer? because ever since have known what NFF is, they've always cried to d govt for financial bailout...is d money FIFA gives them not enough? Are people sitting on d money? because i don't get it. |
Sports › Re: FIFA Confirms That It Will Not Ban The NFF by blazer2018: 5:14pm On Aug 20, 2018 |
naptu2: FIFA (in English) is the Federation of International Football Associations.
Basically, the country Nigeria is not a member of FIFA, rather, it is the NFF (that is, the Nigerian football association) that is a member of FIFA. This is why FIFA refused to meet with Dalung.
The federating associations often meet to make rules that govern FIFA and member associations.
In the late 1990s the federations decided that government interference in the internal affairs of member associations should no longer be tolerated. FIFA also decided that sporting disputes and disputes within their member associations should be referred to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) that was set up by the International Olympic Committee or any other such truly independent courts of arbitration for sports, rather than the civil courts. I have reservations about this rule...how can someone be funding a project and not have a say in its affairs...make FIFA kuku dey pay FAs' bills then. |

Dalung is d worst thing that has ever happened to Nigerian Sport...always clueless...he was trying to use Federal Might to muscle Amaju to pave way for his kinsman to takeover d Glass House...What was he trying to go and do in Zurich before; to convince FIFA that someone who's banned for 5 years by FIFA is d rightful owner of d seat after about 5 years? lol
He doesn't even know that Pinnick played active roles in Ahmad Ahmad and Gianni Infantino's emergence as CAF and FIFA Presidents respectively...Amaju is their guy, nothing that can stop him...little wonder he's bn recognised and given appointments by d 2 bodies.
But to be candid sha, this FIFA rule is absolute thrash...how can u say d various Govts should not have a say in a sport they sponsor with d State's money...so if the Govt of a country budgets and gives their FA about N100billion in a calendar year and d person in d helms of affair in d FA along with his cronies embezzles half of it, d Govt has no power to question how its money was spent? It is crazy. |

Moukandjo: Bro, you may have to interview those your Igbo friends from secondary school & college again to see if they're still as cool as before! 2015 really changed most of them, including the "good" ones! The bitterness from the loss of Jonathan in 2015 has disrupted their thinking so bad! The real SS people, excluding the parts with Igbos, have moved on! Even Niger Delta Avengers, Asari, Tompolo & other militants sef have moved on but the children of hate won't! I don't know what their problem is! The real SS people, including Wike, have always vehemently rejected being part of their biiafra stuff because they know the kind of people they're dealing with! The SS dine with them with long spoons!
They'll tell you they want to leave! North say oya make them comot, them start to dey beg! Fashola "deported" just the destitutes among them o, them begin dey wail! So why were you arrogant in the first place if you knew you wouldn't be able to take the consequences?
In all, I still know for a fact that the detribalized (& I mean totally detribalized) Igbos are actually one of the most intelligent people you'll find anywhere in the world! E just be say the many others dunces don overshadow those very very few great ones! I agree with u totally...we see Igbo artistes collabo with their Yoruba counterparts....likewise d actors and actresses...same with d rich among them...d well educated ones have no qualms in mingling with Yorubas...i think d problem is with d poor and unintelligent ones...plus d some political jobbers in d East. |

Moukandjo: I tell you o, bro! You dish out hate & you think you'd get love in return! Why do you think such comments get a lot of likes & shares here if they're not all the same?
The major problem those guys have with the SW started in 2015! They felt the SW caused the defeat of someone they loved in 2015 which made them this way!
Even Ebelemi Jonathan himself & his SS people have moved on but the gorilla descendants just won't just let it go!
Look at this one for example again: I tire for this people i swear...Crying more than d bereaved. In 1999 when d SW wanted Falae to become President and they voted massively for OBJ, did anybody blame or hate them permanently for it...must everyone have d same political view as them? They always think d entire Southern Nigeria must fall in line with their political view...little wonder they keep insisting d SS is a part of Biafra, contrary to d stand of d people of SS. The kind of accommodation and freedom to do business and own landed property these people get from Yorubaland....i doubt if they can allow any Yoruba have such in their region....but how can a majority of a region be this bitter and twisted...or is it just d internet morons? because I have related with a lot of Igbo folks in my Secondary and Tertiary Education days and i tell u that i have close to nothing bad to say about all of them. |
