You can pay using a dollar card. I helped a colleague with hers last Monday and was charged USD187.24 on my Access Bank dollar card. The CAD-USD rate might differ from one bank to the other, but that's just about that.
I don't have a dollar card.. can I make payment using apps such as payday and chipper cash

LGBTQ; I worry that I might get into trouble for misgendering someone and not necessarily being allble to have a full grasp and understanding of the lifestyle, also for my kids maybe becoming one
Raising well grounded kids; I worry that I might not be a good enough parent and they would end up entitled and unaware with a lot of vices the Nigerian in me consider immoral but it's totally normal there

Travel / Re: Lack Of Proper Transportation System In Abuja. by blazer90707: 9:23am On Oct 21, 2022
Owopariola001:

Aside from morning when people are going to work and evening when people are coming back, Abuja road is always quiet.

And yes, it is population issue, the way i see it. Cabs don't fill up easily from the park. And it's that same reason I believe people tend to have their private car.

And why is it that passengers tend to favor boarding private cars over public cars?

Like I said earlier it's not a population issue. I don't know your experience with public transportation for you to come to this conclusion. Most persons prefer not to enter from parks because it's more expensive compared to the more risky method of standing by the road so you see why the parks experience less patronage.
People prefer private cars cause it offers more comfort. Most of the public cabs are dirty scrap metals. Unless a few of these brekete cabs
Travel / Re: Lack Of Proper Transportation System In Abuja. by blazer90707: 7:22pm On Oct 19, 2022
Owopariola001:

Here are my points:
FCT has 6 LGs: Abaji, Abuja (Municipal Area Council), Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, and Kwali.

Abuja is where the major businesses/offices are situated.

The majority of the working class in FCT moves to Abuja on weekdays, hence the traffic gridlock in and around Abuja.

On weekends, Abuja roads are free. Other LGs roads in FCT are quieter.

There is only one major road that leads to Abuja from each of these LGs. For example, Abaji, Gwags, and Kuje use the Lugbe road towards "City Gate," hence the gridlock. This is similar to the gridlock people experience in the 3rd Mainland bridge that links Island and Mainland in Lagos.

In FCT, most working class (usually government workers) go to work around 9/10 am and that's when you experience the "poor transportation thing, " together with the evening period when people are coming back from work.

Go out around 12-3 pm, the road will be free, and public transport will have trouble filling their cars with passengers.

Also, public transport rarely moves except the cars/buses are filled. Even 9 passengers-SUVs mostly wait for like 30mins before the passengers are filled, then subsequently move to popular places.

Now imagine, I want to go to work before 8 am, how long will I wait for public transport, especially Buses/BRT? I'd rather join a private car going my way.

However, should there be more population, I believe small cars or BRT will be easily filled in no time, just like Lagos/Ibadan.

In the alternative, businesses/offices (including federal government ones) should be encouraged to be situated in places outside Abuja.

It sounds like you're fresh in Abuja. You haven been in the city long. Private cars came as a result of fewer public vehicles to accommodate the population. Try entering a cab from any of the satellite towns to central area in the morning and you would see shege. Coz the rush is something else. For someone who was born and raised in Abuja, Abuja is wayyy too populated now . Even when the population wasn't as much as we have it , moving around by public transport was way easier compared to now, so it's really not a population issue. Elrufai buses did not fail for lack of passengers, it's the unnecessary stops that killed it. Also did I hear you say the road leading to kubwa/zuba are virgin lands? Katampe, katampe extension, jahi, gwarimpa, dawaki, galadima, duste, kubwa proper, kagini, deidei, dakwa before zuba are alll on the kubwa express way

Been reading through the arguments about hair growth.
1. Hair can actually grow 18 inches in 2 years. I grow more than 1/2 an inch a month.
2. It can grow without products because products has no effect on hair growth but healthy hair practices(naturalistas understand)
3. 18 inches curly or kinky hair won't be down ur back unless in it's stretched form so for those arguing nonsense that 18inches hair looks long bla bla forgetting that kinky hair experiences mad shrinkage.
4: average doesn't apply to everyone. To get an average value certain values where considered. I e the upper and lower part of the spectrum.
5: it's not cool to make an argument about someone's body parts with the person irrespective of if there is a slight exaggeration. Like I can't argue about what goes on in ur home even if I know u spiced up ur stories a bit.
6: you must not always win an argument.learn to back down when it becomes confrontational especially if the subject of argument is not definite but a variable e g hair

Please let's get the facts o. He went with a group, he wasn't missing , he drowned at a water fall all efforts to saved him by fellow members of the group proved abortive as the current was so strong and he was carried away. Professional divers where the ones who retrieved his body the following day. Also this particular group this is the first time such incident is happening because before every hike scouts go to scout the place and seek out safe areas and areas to avoid. This was just an unfortunate incident.

More lies. Many of them get divorced and then start looking for homely Nigerian girls who will tolerate the stuff their foreign wives don’t tolerate.

Aren't you tired of constantly having to educate these nairaland people. The arijies dat guy posted I watch them on YouTube. Fact is she's actually Bengali and not Indian and also half of the stuff her husband does, the average nigerian man would never do it. Please leave then to their foreign princesses because if they would be sincere to themselves they don't behave same way with a foreign wife as they would a Nigerian . Travel / Re: My Opinion On Marriage By African Men In Diaspora. by blazer90707: 11:41am On Dec 20, 2020
Petyprincess:
Well same way the law favours men in Nigeria.
A Nigerian man can cheat on his wife, the society will want the woman to stay and they claim " husband house is house for learning" blah blah blah.

Our society wants woman to be obedient, worship her husband no matter what because they believe husband is the head of the house.

If a woman decides to leave an abusive marriage the society will blame her saying she can't keep a home nd calling her all sort of names.

It still baffles me who still searches for Nigerian horseband in diaspora when you when we all know most usually feel entitled simply because they take you out of Nigeria, some will even want you to go for medical school so you can work as a nurse nd take care of the house while they rely on hardworking wife who is a nurse abroad.

The world is changing, you can't bring someone to a foreign country nd expect this person to have the same mentality she was having, foreign countries respect women unlike Nigeria! So if you want someone you can control go for women there which i know they won't accept any of the things you take for granted in Nigeria!
Sis please in this coming year 2021 mind the business that pays you because it's clear these men would keep on opening thread upon thread to push this their narrative of African women being unfit for them . The difference is the addition of scent leaf for Igbos. I used banga so people who aren't Igbo will flow with the discussion.

Palm fruit is called banga in our pidgin especially for SS people(delta and rivers precisely).

Akwu is it's Igbo name.

Ofe is soup in Igbo.
I know what ofe akwu is that's why I said the only similarity is the palm fruit.anybody who hasn't tasted Banga but ofe akwu can't claim to know how Banga tastes and vice versa. They might be similar but taste different because of ingredients and method of cooking. BTW Banga is not pidgin but the isoko and urhobo names for palm fruit

In Anambra, It is used almost in anything. Gives food a kind of organic taste especially the ofe-akwu(banga soup).

Anytime I am visiting Anambra, my meal orders doesn't exceed bitter leaf soup and ofe-akwu. They do it well.
Please oo ofe akwu is not Banga. They are two different soups with only one thing in common, the palm fruit used. Ingredients used in cooking is very different.

It wasn't directed at anyone and to think you want to go to Germany sef.it would do you a whole lot of good if you start learning to leave people to their beliefs without passing nasty comments like can't think straight, must everything be spiritual. Of course nothing is easy. Dedication and diligence makes the difference , at least is better to have a bsc than sitting at home writing jamb year in year out.or better still what @officiallyme is doing i.e keep on trying while studying your BMS course. Bro. I chose medicine not for ego. If it's ego, I'd have given up since. This is my 6th jamb attempt, it's not something to be proud of tho. If I want to be called a doctor, I'd get a PHD degree.

You chose your course and you probably have found joy with it. Medicine to me is the only course I can study that will give me the joy I seek. You don't come and just say things because you feel like saying them. Have a nice day!
If I may ask are you already in school. If not why don't you opt for one of the basic medical sciences, graduate well then apply using direct entry. There are many pathways to medicine you know. I wrote jamb 4 times then had to study a BMS course. In my final year now and hoping to enter medicine using direct entry
